Good value for money, very nice Japanese-style rooms, decent breakfast, very nice onsen. True, it needs a makeover. We were a family of 6, sharing 2 spacious rooms. The tatamis are really comfortable, and the onsen après-ski is all you can wish for. It is conveniently situated: the shuttle stop is right in front of the hotel. It’s neither too close nor too far from the heart of the town with restaurants and bar.

Although it has already passed the winter skiing season, the white horses only open the ski resorts on the top of the mountain. The hotel can also provide real-time information on the ski resorts. The day is relatively deserted, the restaurant has fewer choices for breakfast and dinner, and the taste is still good. The hot spring has become a personal package. box

We stayed here for 2 nights in July. The hotel and rooms are clean and comfortable. The lack of vegetarian / vegan food options was disappointing considering this is a Marriott Hotel. The resteraunt may not be theirs, but still expected better. The staff were very helpful, although the hotel shuttle to drop us to the station was only available for a 30 minute timeslot in the morning. Strange, but not a problem. Location is good, still has a feel that it could be a lot better by just making small improvements. Its the details that matter, at least that is why we booked Marriott. Still, we would stay here again (and maybe bring our own food).

What an awesome experience! The hotel offered exemplary service before we even arrived. Due to special travel arrangements, we arrived late and the staff quick to arrange an in-room bento dinner for us before our arrival. When we got there, we were immediately blown away by the gorgeousness of the hotel.
Despite its age, everything was very clean and polished. I can see that great care had been taken to upkeep the hotel and it’s premises, which are extraordinarily beautiful. We couldn’t resist taking pictures even after check-out, and it took us an hour to finally reluctantly leave. Words cannot actually do the place justice, you must visit there yourself.
We were very impressed with how delicious the food was, and the attention to detail, including the placement of the food, the coordination of food color. My mouth is still watering as I recall how delicious it was. I had 10 helpings of their prime rib one day. Besides, I had a dietary restriction and the staff were really careful with that, to the extent of reminding me what dishes not to eat everyday at their breakfast and dinner buffet.
In addition to excellent food and service, the hotel went out of its way to be very eco-friendly. For every day that we did not need our room to be tidied, we earned points, which can be traded in for ice cream or other goodies.
Finally, the staff spoke perfect English. This is rare indeed, and it made everything so much easier and so much more enjoyable. Thanks for the experience!

The location is on the mountain, a bit far away. shuttle bus only a few hours, inconvenient. But the relative environment is very quiet. The women's bath can't find the sauna but the men have it. There is free self-service. There are not many breakfast options, but it is acceptable. Overall, it feels good.

It is a bright and clean hotel. There is a feeling of home called inn rather than a hotel. It was convenient except that there was a makeup drop and makeup water in the bath. I chose the time zone of the meal at check-in and put it into the restaurant, so it was smooth without congestion. It was a Viking in the morning and evening, but there were many items, and every dish was replenished immediately and always ”full”. Even if the meal is delicious, the satisfaction increases. I used the store 5% off ticket on my return and made sweet sake and gohei Mochi souvenirs.

A private pension. Therefore, it is recommended for people who want to relax because it is not large, so it is unlikely that they will encounter groups of guests or student groups. The location is in the middle of National Route 148 with an express bus stop and Hakuba Goryu Ski Resort, so it feels like it's okay to visit by private car or public transportation. To get to the ski resort, you can take a shuttle bus from the bus stop at the top of the hill about 7 or 80 meters from the inn. It's all downhill on the way back, so you can walk home, but it's better to see it for 10 to 15 minutes. If you want to buy something to eat and drink, it will be Escale Plaza, which is the base of the ski resort, or a convenience store that is a 5-6 minute drive from the inn. If you walk to Konpi, it takes 30 minutes one way. The food at the inn is described as creative European cuisine, but it was a fusion of French and Italian. The taste was absolutely delicious. The volume may be a little unsatisfactory for men. Rice can be replaced, but I was confused because I was not given a clear guide or written somewhere. It seems that you can also replace the breakfast bread, but there is no guide here either. If you say that you should just ask, it will be until then, but I think that clear guidance is still essential because not everyone can ask such things. If you omit the verbal guidance, you can post the guidance on the table. As a difference from the pensions of the same size in the surrounding area, if it is famous, it often comes with an after-meal drink, coffee or tea, but this is not provided. If you need it, you can order it separately for a fee. Breakfast comes with coffee or tea. When I visited, I was in the middle of the corona crisis, so I don't know if I was doing it, but it seemed that I could enjoy alcohol in the dining room after dinner (of course, an extra charge). The room is not spacious, but enough to sleep. Regarding the position of the TV that other people wrote, it was certainly higher than my line of sight and it was hard to see. If I didn't adjust the distance, it was difficult to see the screen due to reflections, etc., and I felt stressed because I couldn't change the location arbitrarily due to wiring problems. In the room where I stayed, the TV was placed on a wooden stand in the corner, and the height of the TV hanging from the stand was the maximum height for comfortable viewing. I really want you to improve this area. I thought that it would be a minus point that it is difficult to watch the TV for that, even though you can watch foreign movies and Japanese movies rented out by the hotel for free on the DVD player in each room. There is also a unit bath and toilet in the room, but the door to this is locked. For those who need it, the accommodation plan will have a bathroom and the basic fee will increase. Conversely, if you don't need it, you can stay at a cheaper price than other similar-sized hotels in the surrounding area. Regarding the toilet outside the room, the toilet on the 2nd floor where the guest room is located was a strange structure with separate toilets for men and women next to each other as others wrote. It was unavoidable in terms of space. It may be troublesome for women, but we recommend using the toilet next to the front desk on the first floor. This is separate from the entrance for men and women. The bath is already here, but it is not large. It's a so-called family bath, and if you're an adult, there's a fixed number of 2 people, and if you force yourself to put 3 people in one room, it's basically for 1 person. It was one room. For example, both parents and one child, or one parent with a child, are of reasonable size. I didn't feel that there were negative points such as poor cleaning or dim lighting, but on the contrary, there was no particular element that appealed to me. According to the information on the website, it seems that you can enjoy the jacuzzi on the terrace except in winter, so if you want to enjoy a bath in winter, please use Escal Plaza or nearby hot spring facilities. By the way, there was no information about this, but it seems that you can take a bath 24 hours a day, except during cleaning. The drying room is a concern for ski snowboarders, but it didn't feel like there was a separate room. It was rather simple, with a passage partitioned off, shelves installed, and a warm air heater placed. Even so, if the boards and boots are normally wet, they will dry, but it is safer to dry the boots that are wet to the inner and the clothes that are wet to the inside in the room. There are often times when there is no clear guidance as information, such as refills for meals or a DVD of a bath guide movie, and depending on how you look at it, it may look like a lack of hospitality. However, the owner couple is very pleasant and friendly. The service is not bad at all, such as caring about the likes and dislikes of meals, and offering to pick up and drop off if you are handy. It was a pity that the information dissemination was insufficient.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Sierra Resort, Hakuba when we visited in February. The hotel itself is beautiful, well maintained and offers a lot to its visitors. The hotel is set outside of the main town in it's own little secluded area. This can be a plus and minus - Positive because the resort is so beautiful and away from the hustle and bustle, negative as it can at times be difficult to access transport to and from town (restaurants, bars, ski fields, etc). The hotel offers a shuttle bus in the evenings to take you into town, although you need to book in there and back, which can be restrictive of your time at dinner, etc as you have to decide on a return time. The shuttle bus doesn't stop near all restaurants, so you could be walking in the dark/cold to your reservation and then waiting in the cold for the return bus. Keep this in mind - a lot of the time we found it more convenient to order a taxi, although these can be hard to come by and expensive! The Ski shuttle bus picks up/drops off at the hotel each day. Buses are busy and there are no racks for ski/board gear - you need to carry everything onto the bus with you, which can be very squishy as the buses get quite full. We found Tsugaike to be the closest and most convenient ski field to the hotel. The staff at the hotel were always very friendly and helpful. Language barriers existed, although staff would always ensure they had assisted you by the end of the conversation, you just have to allow a little more time in your schedule to organise and make your plans. This also allowed us time to learn some simple Japanese which assisted us when communicating with the staff. Sierra Hotel offers complimentary food at different times throughout the day, served in the main lobby area - curries, rice, soup, etc. This is so convenient when you get back from the ski fields and just want a small bite to eat before dinner. Hotel also offers complimentary wine, tea and ice creams. Breakfast - great selection of Japanese and Western food. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast each morning. There were always new things to try each day - eg: different soups (pumpkin, corn), also beautiful views outside. Dinner - we had dinner at the hotel one night from the A La Carte menu. Also thoroughly enjoyed our meals (Pasta, calamari, soup, fries, etc). Rooms were big, very comfortable and warm with special heating. Beautiful views of the snow and areas around the hotel. Our favourite part of the resort was the beautiful public and private onsens made up of pure mineral water. The private onsens need to be booked in ahead of time which the hotel allows each morning - you will need to be quick to make a booking. We would definitely recommend Hotel Sierra Resort and would stay here again. Thank you to the staff for an enjoyable stay! :)

GGuest UserAmazing place to stay in, extremely value for money, host was very friendly and responsive as well. Good for a stay with a bigger group.
GGuest UserThis is a cottage type inn. Park your car in front of the cottage. Guests were greeted by a plate with their name and pet's name written on it. Pets are allowed in all cottages, beds and restaurants. The cottage itself has changed over time and is by no means new, but it was clean and had everything we wanted. Most of the pet-related amenities are also available, so there is no inconvenience. All of the staff I met at the front desk and restaurant were kind and gentle, even though they were young, and I felt comfortable. I made a reservation for my meal at Lava Grill. The meat was very tasty, but I felt like there wasn't enough variety. I might say it's just right for me when I'm about 80 percent full, but the breakfast was particularly tsukudani-based, which was a bit unsuitable for me as I don't eat white rice. There are repeats.
GGuest UserWe stayed in one of the villas for Christmas and had a great time. Cottage I was spacious and clean, with everything you would need for a family stay. Would definitely recommend a villa if you want your own space while in Happo, and it was a good base for both Hakuba 47 and Happo slopes - however, you will definitely need your own car as the villa was out from the main town and off any shuttle bus route. The staff at Reposer were really helpful - picking us and our luggage up to take us to the villa, and then dropping us off at the bus station for check out. They also arranged delivery of our luggage back to Tokyo so we didn't have to bother with them on the train.
CChairat ModnakThe owner is very nice. The location is quite far from a train station but if you like to walk, it’s no problem. By the way, you have to rent a towel for 300 yen.
PpinnponnmamI stayed on a continuous holiday. I was worried about watching on TV. HP was very worried because it was notation in premium and deluxe, so I didn't know that I wanted to stay in this building I saw on TV. Adult 4 children 4 people, twin bedroom 2 room (2 floor) and 3 futons on tatami mats on the 1 floor. The entrance is with the guests staying in the deluxe suite. There is a normal kitchen, where the first night has dinner. Wine and beer cola prepared in the refrigerator are free to drink. Several kinds of pints are free. Coffee tea is free. There is only salt pepper in the kitchen, so other seasonings are required. The kitchen and living room are large, so you can wai wai without worrying about a lot of children. I thought it would be good for a women's party. The jacuzzi was happy with the child. There was free wifi in the room, and I could talk to a free speaker and listen to music. At first glance, it was black and gorgeous and it was a color use that was not in the general home, but I enjoyed a luxury travel feeling. I think there are some drinks if you are a large number. There are seven eleven in the neighborhood 5 minutes walk. The restaurant in Maruhachi Shoya is just across the street. The ham for a few minutes walk to the Hakuba ham shop was delicious.
JJiatengjingziI was only able to book a room without a bath or toilet, but the women's toilet was new and very clean and comfortable. The food was hot and delicious. Thank you again!
