Lagoon Paradise Beach Resort

Bellboy/cleaner is an absolute legend and deserves a pay rise! Otherwise our experience was strange and uncomfortable. Highly encourage you to book elsewhere. 👍🏼 PROS: - Beach location is nice but you need a tuk tuk into town or to the swimming beach. 👎🏼 CONS: - No wifi or reception in the rooms. - No blinds covering the door windows so rooms are very bright at night - we had to cover with towels. - On arrival we were told dinner was included in our stay, however after waiting at Big Crocodile for over an hour, staff said they’d made an error and we would have to pay. No offer to honour their mistake. - First day breakfast was a nice buffet option, however second day we could only order from the menu. This wouldn’t be an issue but no Sri Lankan style food was available - only western ☹️ - Newly renovated bathroom tiles had come unstuck, and smashed all over the floor. Very dangerous. - We were given wet towels for the pool, which is rarely attended by staff during the day. - Television barely works due to poor reception.

Beautiful location, you can experience both the beach and lagoon. Staffs are very friendly. Rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable. Nice and warm pool, my children enjoyed very much. Very tasty food but not much Sri Lankan spicy food. They have more Western choices. But the restaurant managed our requests made us special arrangements. Thank you Dhilan (restaurant in charge) for accommodating our requests

We had an amazing time at this hotel. Dinner was very delicious. Mr. Dilan who was incharge officer arranged according to our food preferences. He was very helpful and took care of us very well. We will recommend this hotel anyone coming from abroad

The hotel has a lot to offer, lodges, rooms, a restaurant/bar on the beach, a swimming pool, large reception room, friendly staff. Not everything is quite finished yet, but it already looks very nice. Rural, remote surroundings, so not too busy (what a relief). It's only 2 hours to Yala national park. A recommendation! The only minor detail is that the WiFi only works in the lounge, but that will probably improve. Worth a visit!

We were there for our annual trip for one night from check in to check out it was.superb.They were willing to help guest each and every moment.Food rooms everything was up to standard.wish we could stay one more night there. No hesitate to recommended this place to anyone willing to have relax vacation.

This is far from 4* hotel, despite they have ticked all boxes by requiremnts. Hotel overall: Dated on all ways. Lobby area spacious, but furniture is dated and dirty. Common toilets very old and need impovement (tap, toilet seat, doors, soap dispensers). You can add all purchased meals, drinks, services for you room and pay at once when leaving (extra charge with card payment is 3%) instead of paying each time. Few hundred meters up to road you can find a small supermarket to buy essentials. If you want to go futher somewhere from hotel by yourself you need a tuk-tuk, taxi or a car. WIFI: If you are lucky it will work at lobby, pool area and in restaurant (often cuts off and won't work at all). Rooms: Dated and what's more important not well cleaned either. Broken furniture, very old toilet seat and so on. Good point is bathroom, very spacious and good shower. Aircon pretty noisy. Staff: Manager is frendly and helpful, rest of the staff too. Manager was basically the only one with good english. Food: Nothing superb. Menu is decent, but mostly meat/seafood was overcooked and try. Pizza oven wasn't worked at once despite it was on a menu. Restaurant itself is perfect place to be for a meal, next to the sea and you can have a table at the sandy beach. Please note, they will charge extra service fee 10% at restaurant and pool. Some days I found service really slow. I can't comment about brakfast as I did go just once out of 9 days. There is a small retaurant close to the hotel up to the road, food was good. Drinks were decent at hotel. Pool: Nice, nothing to say. Very good size, clean, separate area for the kids. Enough loungers. If pool bar is out of service, main restaurant will serve food and drinks and bring them over upon request. Towels dated, but you can change as much as you like. Beach: Few sunbeds and shades, but not recommended to swim due waves even if you are really good swimmer. Left hand side from restaurant appoximetaly 200 meters kind a lagoon area at sea that is good. Hard to walk there due heat and sand. I would not return, with bit more cash you can have pretty much better places to be (my friends were in a different hotel closer to the aiport, cost wize there were not much of difference). Distance from the airport is just around 60 km, but it took 3 hours due traffic that is so slow.

Very relaxing stay next to the lagoon but also an easy walk to the beach. Only one restaurant was open aged that was on the beach so a bit of a trek when it rained. My room looked out on to a corridor which wasn’t ideal and the sealant around bathroom fittings was black with mildew. But largely these are minor details to a comfortable and relaxing stay at a fair price.

This resort has a fantastic setting on Tangalle beach and has a lovely pool and other facilities. Restaurant has a wonderful setting on the beach and we enjoyed an excellent dinner there. Rooms and bathroom very large. Unfortunately there are 2 negatives 1) fairly isolated only a few other resorts close by- Tangalle centre about 3 km away 2) The WiFi is bad. WiFi only in restaurant and lobby and not great there. In 2024 this isn’t good enough
