Banksia Tourist Park

It's a really nice place, the bed is comfortable and the staff is friendly.

Situated in a pleasant park, unfortunately if like me you don't have a car it's not very convenient. WiFi is completely non existent nice swimming pool though.

Lovely place to stay! Great amenities for everyone to use and enjoy during their stay.

Fine place. We stayed in a cabin, which was clean and perfectly acceptable. Pullout couch was not made up for a bed despite having 4 people on the reservation, but that wasn't a huge deal as all the sheets and things were provided. Kind of annoying check in since we were after hours, we had to call a number, who sent us a link to put pics of drivers license for me, except the service was pretty bad and we had no WiFi since we hadn't checked in yet, so it took a bit to go through so we had to wait outside in the dark. Otherwise, staff were helpful and kind. Our door to the cabin didn't lock, which was a big safety concern. Door was cracked open on arrival, and then would "lock", but was easily wiggled open with minimal effort. We ended up sliding the table in front of the door for the night. Comfortable enough bed and bathroom, but in a bad location if you don't have a car. Not really near anything. Probably wouldn't stay again, but could recommend to those with camper or caravan needing a place to sleep for a few hours before hitting the road again.

We booked ahead for site 1 because of the easier access but when we turned up we were told by the very rude receptionist that we were now on site 26 - I asked why & was told it was given to someone else & that management had the right to do that - by management she seemed to imply herself! I asked about other sites that were easier to get into & was told none were available for me & I could either take site 26 or another right in amongst the permanents, or leave! The park is 95% permanents with more being built (2 storey) - apart from sites 1-13 which are on the end, the other sites are on very narrow roads jammed in among the permanents. - reversing is a nightmare! Most of the permanent residents are good but there are a couple of ferals with the loud music, tv & swearing. The park is easy to get to via the freeways. However, it is situated next to the Roe freeway & it is very noisy. - you can hear it anywhere in the park. It also fronts onto another busy road. We chose this park because it is close to the airport & it is - but that means the planes fly over the park at times quite low. All in all a noisy park & you will need good earplugs esp if you get put next to the ferals! We will not stay there again!

We and our friends stayed for 4 nights on powered sites in your park in May. It is a lovely well maintained park with good access to public transport. However there is a BUT coming. There was an intensely strong smell of sewage around our site, so bad at times we could not sit outside. This made enjoying the wild life and surroundings impossible. When I reported this,I was told it was due to the dump point. NO it was due to the sesspool behind the bins. No odour from the dump point. Our friends on the opposite side of the park, a long way from this area could also smell sewage. Upon speaking with our neighbour,a permanent, she said she had reported it several times. The Wifi is severely limited.I used it for about 2 hours, when we arrived to see what Perth city had to offer and check public transport timetables. The next morning when trying to log on I found that apparently I had used my 4 days worth of free WiFi but there was an option to buy more. Not on our whole 6 weeks on the road has this occurred in places where WiFi was readily available. If you can't get in a capital city, where else could you?

We enjoyed our stay at Banksia. The park has everything you need. The sites are private and spacious. Some would be tight to get onto in a big van, our van is 17ft so no problems. The ablutions are very clean and well maintained. The pool is a great size with plenty of room and one end us under cover so you can have a swim and not be in the sun. Would definitely recommend this park and have booked another stay prior to leaving. There are bus stops right out the front if you use public transport.

Worst customer service I've ever received. Don't book online! Computer said I didn't have a booking but took my money anyway! Banksia won't refund as it's all in their policy details and I should have read those so its my fault apparently. Consistent passive aggressive blame and no sorry we'll see what we can do for you! Wouldn't stay here just out of basic human respect and decency to their customers! Appalling behaviour Banksia!

Banksia Tourist Park is well thought out, clean, tidy and concrete bases. There was enough room for the caravan; our slide out, awning and car. The only criticism I would make about the site was having pitch 16. I was unable to access the mains and water due to a very large bush. I had to throw my cable over the bush to plug in and crawl on my hands and knees to push the water hose through a gap in the bush to connect to the tap. Being nearly 70 was a challenge! The second criticism is the prices. I have given 3 stars as I feel it is a very ‘money oriented’ company! Never ever have we been charged for having dogs despite paying for a pet site. We enquired after booking online, for a drive-thru site. The receptionist who I spoke to was going to charge me $55 extra with membership discount for three days. Bearing in mind we had already paid $54 a night AFTER discount.
