Maybe it was because of the location of the room, but Wi-Fi wasn't working.
The location is perfect as it's right in the middle of the old town.

Das Team ist aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Unsere Essen war wirklich sehr gut, ich kann dieses Restaurant ohne Bedenken weiter empfehlen. Das Ambiente passt zum Namen des Hotels. Preis Leistung ist für mich absolut Okay. Jederzeit wieder.

Die Schlossbeleuchtung in Heidelberg wollten wir uns in dem - unserer Meinung nach - einst einem der besten Häuser in Heidelberg feiern. Ernüchternd ist die wohl euphemistischste Umschreibung. Die Mitarbeiter im Service des Restaurants können einem nur leid . Chronisch unterbesetzt. Als endlich das Essen geliefert wurde, war eines davon nicht das Bestellte - kein Problem wir tauschen, hieß es. Qualität des servierten Salates erinnerte nicht an einen leckeren, knackigen Salat :-( Nachdem nach Verzehr des Essens meiner Mutter, der Ersatz nach wie vor nicht geliefert war, bestellte ich die Rechnung. Natürlich wurde auch das nicht gelieferte Essen berechnet. Beschwerde bei der Restaurantleitung ergab keinerlei Entschuldigung, kein Versuch den Gast wieder für sich zu gewinnen, einzig: ok, nicht geliefertes Essen müssen Sie dann nicht zahlen. Verhalten wie es nicht einmal in einer Imbissbude, Systemgastro oder ähnlich zu Erwarten wäre. Wünsche dem Team ein besseres, wertschätzenderes Management!

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in April 2024. This stop was part of our 2 week tour around Germany. The hotel Ritter has a lot of historic charm. It is well situated in the main square by the church. It is very close to the Rathaus bus stop, the funicular to the Heidelberg Castle, the river and old bridge and shopping and restaurants. The rooms are comfortable with lots of light. The bathtub is a bit hard to step in and out of. I do not recommend if you have mobility issues. The breakfast was good, service very good. I gave it 4 out of 5 because The elevator had a terrible damp smell.

We enjoyed the old-world charm, spacious room, lovely breakfast buffet, and friendly, helpful staff. The location cant be beat!
