Good budget accomodation, great staff and breakfast, no fault of the hotel but sleep was challenging thanks to other inconsiderate guests deciding to have a very extended party in the hallways/nearby rooms in the very early hours of the morning.

Comfortable bed and good shower. It would be great if it had double glazing to reduce street noise. Also the emergency lights never switch off completely. Could be a problem if you are used to total darkness to sleep.

We have stayed here a number of times in the past,when they had free on-site parking,which helped.Sadly,that has gone now. Pay parking is nearby and gives you a break between 6pm and 9 am. Room was good and breakfasts were hearty.

My husband and I stayed at this charming hotel last Saturday night and were made most welcome. We found a place on the street to park, and then Lauren showed us upstairs to the very pleasant Room 8. Not the biggest room but had everything we needed, and such good use has been made of the space that it doesn't feel cramped. A very comfortable bed and a beautiful en-suite, with everything nice and clean, all very well maintained and in excellent order. We were pleased to have a desk and chair, and the wifi was good; lots of power points to make our stay convenient. As it was a very warm night we had the window open, but people in the street were noisy so eventually I closed it. By then my husband was blissfully snoring! In the morning we had a delicious breakfast. My husband had the full English, which he said was very good, and I had one of the best cheese-and-mushroom omelettes I've ever had. This is an excellent place to stay, which we thoroughly recommend. We would certainly stay there again and are likely to do so as we intend visiting the area fairly regularly.

What a little gem this place is! We were staying for 1 night and stumbled upon this place, for the price the room was huge and clean. The bed was comfy and there was air con (amazing as I always get quite warm!). The price I paid also included breakfast and it was delicious. The staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming. Would definately stay here again, I loved the atmosphere and the decor as it's an old pub but absolutely not run down and we'll looked after. Thankyou for a wonderful night away.

Nice homely rooms, much nicer than a generic hotel room. Breakfast and hot drinks made fresh for you each morning. Great service throughout. I stay here every time I'm here for work.

Lovely quirky hotel in the centre of the old town. Great Thai and Indian restaurants only a short walk away. Friendly staff and good breakfast. It’s a bit noisy and the emergency lights in the room never switch off. Overpowering air freshener had to be unplugged and out in a drawer.

This is a great pub with rooms. I used it a lot before the pandemic and starting to use it again now. It's a great place to stay when in Hemel Hempstead. Reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Cracking breakfast (served by the wonderful Michelle). I definitely recommend it.
