Old & tired. Room clean. Breakfast apparently available 7 to 1030am. The owner slept in & nothing for breakfast. The evening prior Sean advised me to have breakfast @ 730am. Other guests were waiting when I left. Kitchen seemed dirty with scum on sink, food stains in fridge, some tea cups not cleaned properly. Toothbrush & toothpaste on ledge above sink ?! On the upside: Sean was very knowledgeable and gave good recommendations for food, site seeing and local area. Beware downstairs bedrooms at front of house have air vents above door that do not provide privacy. They get all guests walking by in & out.

The place is absolutely not up to any standards. Our room was dirty, cobwebs everywhere, dust on every shelving unit, mould in the bathroom, dirty carpet. Shower room very tiny and dirty. Not working TV(why bother to put it in the room anyway?). The radiator vaulve was missing so couldn't regulate temperature at all. Entrance and the kitchen area very untidy, messy breakfast area with dirty cups, plates and mugs everywhere. ONLY FOR THE DESPERATE!

If you are looking for luxury and all the comforts you have the wrong place, but if you want the real Ireland this is the right place. The B&B is located in Howth a magical place surrounded by the sea 15 km from Dublin. The rooms are simple and basic but you are fine. The real plus though is the owner Mr. Sean, we were welcomed as old friends, the first night allowed our daughter to stay with us (she was a guest from a family in Dublin) and in the morning she prepared for all three a fantastic Irish breakfast without claiming an extra euro (we had booked only for two). At breakfast, included in the price, there was still toast, excellent butter, jams, fruit cereals, not bad for a B & B.For me highly recommended. Thanks Sean we will not forget you.

The B&B is in a great location close to the town, the coast and some fantastic walks on the coastal path. The room we were in was very clean and had en suite facilities but would benefit from some modernisation, although only from a cosmetic perspective. Sean is a lovely, genuine host and is full of local knowledge. He cooked a great breakfast in the morning and makes you feel like you're staying with an old friend. At €90 per night, his B&B is good value for money but this rate is only available if you book directly with him, as opposed to a hotel booking website.

This B&B was generally fine although it does depend on both your expectations and which room you are allocated as some can be noisy and lack privacy. However the bigger issue is the complete lack of security: No CCTV, no safe box, front and side entry doors left unlocked and open all day. The property is frequented by guests, workers and customers of a coffee van operating at the front. We had a substantial sum of money stolen from our room on the last afternoon of our stay which ruined our holiday. We can pinpoint the time of the theft due to the specific circumstances however unfortunately only realised after we’d left the accommodation. I would caution any other guests against leaving anything of value in their rooms. Of equal concern is the lack of response from the owner after I emailed him and provided him with full details of our experience.

I spent a week at the gaeltacht to improve my Irish. Without doubt it was exceptionally educational and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The teachers and organisers were beyond fantastic. Nothing was a problem. I could only but highly recommend it. I'm looking forward to a return trip next year. Bhì sibh go hiontach. Treasa. Maoillainaigh.

Sean was really accommodating. Friendly and funny host. Rooms were adequate and clean. Highly recommend staying here whilst you are in Howth. Just don’t ask for extra bacon as Sean is sure to tell other guests that you have asked.
