Very good hotel, with some drawbacks - but acceptable for the price. Hotel grounds: Very well kept, with beautifull gardens and greenery. Nicely lit at night. Everything is clean and in good condition. There are bars in the lobby (24h), by the main pool (this one serves snacks - not very good pizzas, very good fries, and fantastic fresh, hot donuts), and in the second pool (this one is submerged in water, you order drinks while chillin in the pool - it's fun to stay here). Shame the pools are only open untill 5. After 5pm you need to leave the pool and sunbeds, as the crew starts cleaning the lot. This is a bit too early. Rooms: Our was quite big, with pool view and daily cleaning, though sheets and towels were only folded nicely. They were changed upon our request. You get 1 0.5l water bottle per person to your room every day, as well as some tea and coffee. Very good air conditioning. Beach: Beach is a few minutes walk from the hotel, but you can take a free shuttle bus that arrives every 15 minutes, and rides from the lobby entrance, to the beach. The beach is clean, there's enough sunbeds and umbrellas for everybody. It looks very nice, with yachts docked at far ends of the beach. There's also very good beach bar with drinks and snacks. Las shuttle bus leaves the beach at 6, but you can walk to the hotel after that time. Service: Overall staff was very friendly and professional. They were doing theyre best to fulfill all our requests, and made the stay comfortable. We haven't had any problems with hotel crew. Food and Drinks: typical selection of hot drinks, soft drinks and local alcohols all inclusive, similar to other hotels. Pretty nice beer pured from a bottle and not mixed with water - that's nice. Cups are pretty small, 200ml i think. Wine available only in restaurant at lunch and dinner. Water is also given in those 200ml cups, and that's a shame. Last year, we were in 3 star hotel in Tunisia, and they were giving 1l bottles for free - it was very good for hydration and comfort in hot climate. At royal lagoons we found ourselves conserving water in order to minimize the number of trips to the bar required. Food is also a con i think. The food was okay, most dishes edible but pretty bland (although some were really good, beef goulash and egg omlettes are my favourites). Very repetitive menu in the restaurant, often all the same stuff served. You will not be hungry in this hotel, but will likely not look forward to meal time. As a positive - soups are fantastic. You also get one free entry to one of the tematic restaurants in the hotel - either continental, italian, or seafood. Theese are very nice, you order from a menu and waiter brings you your dishes. Animations: Nice active team, something is always happening in the hotel - it felt alive. Summary: This is a good choice for the price, and we were happy with our stay in this hotel. Beautifull building with warm people and warm weather. Clean and comfortable. Food could be impro
