"The young lady at the hotel was very enthusiastic; she even came out to help with our luggage, and her service attitude was excellent. The hotel room was spacious, looked clean and tidy, and all the disposable amenities were readily available. The hotel's location is great, right next to Jinlong Shopping Plaza, and very close to the Summer Resort, within walking distance. It's also not far from the Eight Outer Temples scenic area, about a 10 yuan taxi ride away. I had a wonderful stay this time, and I'll choose this hotel again next time I'm in Chengde."

"No matter where I am, a Hampton Inn always feels like home, and that reliability is truly consistent. This stay was once again perfect: as soon as I entered the lobby, staff warmly greeted me and asked how they could help. The front desk service was professional and thoughtful. Breakfast was nutritious and varied, a great way to start the day. The parking lot was spacious and ample, very convenient for those driving. Whether for a business trip or a leisure stopover, this is an excellent choice. The room was quiet and comfortable, perfect for reading or getting work done without interruption. Highly recommended! The dinner on the top floor is also a recommendation! They even sent up yogurt. The service was impeccable!"

"Staying at this hotel during my trip to Chengde was a truly pleasant surprise, exceeding all my expectations. As soon as I stepped into the lobby, I was touched by the warm service. The front desk lady was incredibly enthusiastic and attentive, offering me hot tea upon arrival and patiently explaining all the complimentary hotel services. These small details were genuinely heartwarming.
The location is a major highlight. It's just a 7-8 minute walk to the Summer Resort, and being in the city center means there are plenty of malls and supermarkets nearby, making dining, shopping, and getting around incredibly convenient. You absolutely *must* try the local specialty lamb soup and knife-cut noodles for breakfast – they are authentic and surprisingly delicious.
The hotel's facilities are quite new and very well-maintained, and the environment is clean and tidy. I really love the city of Chengde, and this accommodation offers excellent value for money. It's definitely my top choice for future trips and I highly recommend it."

"Location - Good, strategic location, just opposite the high speed train station. Lots of eateries and convenient shops nearby, super convenient.
Cleanliness - Required improvement. The tabletop had not been cleaned thoroughly and still had stains from the previous guest. The hallway outside the room was also dirty, dusty and wet.

The Qiwang Building Hotel itself has really beautiful and exquisite scenery inside, you could even do a travel photoshoot there, haha. In short, it's really pleasant to stroll around after dinner. "This hotel deserves a five-star rating for its front desk service, which was far superior to the treatment I received at the Yage Huanju Hotel in Beidaihe. The front desk staff were enthusiastic, thoughtful, and anticipated all our needs. Although the parking lot is small, the attendants proactively helped us park the car. The restaurant staff were patient and provided timely service. All the hotel staff made us feel well taken care of and right at home. The only drawbacks were that the room was a bit small, and the ceiling height was low, which felt a little cramped. The outer pane of the double-glazed window was quite dirty, likely due to the difficulty of cleaning it."

The owner is very kind; they specially drove us to the Jinshanling Great Wall entrance in the morning, even though it's only a 7-8 minute walk from the hotel. I've been to several sections of the Great Wall, and I've always wished to stay in a hotel where I could see it! Today, that wish finally came true. You can see the Great Wall from the third floor of the B&B! Very comfortable.

The location of the hotel is excellent if you want to visit the Great Wall. Chow his mother and his family and staff go above and beyond to ensure you have the best stay. We had only 2 nights and woke up early for sunrise to club the wall and a chow helped us arrange everything. Tis section of the wall is with very few people, and truly magnificent seeing the sun rise. Absolutely loved it.
I was a single um travelling with my 2 children and the room was spacious, clean and the food was beyond tasty. They got me a little cake as it was my birthday and it was incredibly thoughtful and a lovely gesture. Thank you Chiw

MuzisanshengTraveling solo, I chose The Landy Hotel, and it perfectly matched my aesthetic. The overall design features a simple, natural wood style with no excessive decoration. The room layout felt relaxed and comfortable, and the floor-to-ceiling window framed the garden view like a painting. The outdoor garden is meticulously maintained, with plants thoughtfully arranged and winding paths that make for a wonderfully quiet stroll, far from the hustle and bustle. The room was clean and tidy, the amenities felt high-quality, and the staff were very friendly. I felt incredibly peaceful staying here all day – it’s a great place to unwind and recharge alone. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Aranya.

Guest UserOut of all the places we stayed during our self-drive trip through Inner Mongolia, this was by far the best! Both the owner and the staff were incredibly genuine and welcoming. The attention to detail in their service was exceptional, you can tell they truly put their heart into running the place.
The room was clean and spacious, with excellent facilities, making for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. I absolutely have to rave about the owner's freshly roasted lamb leg – crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and absolutely delicious. It was genuinely amazing.
What truly impressed me was how pet-friendly they are. Bringing our two small dogs was absolutely no hassle, and the owners were incredibly accommodating. It's so rare to find such a wonderful pet-friendly guesthouse when you're traveling with pets. The courtyard was peaceful and quiet, providing a perfect spot to relax and unwind after a long day of driving. I wish them all the best!

We were scared of large crowds at the wall, and followimg many online recommendation we found the Jinshanling section.
This hotel is at the great location a short walk from the mid enterance to the wall section, the Gubeikou train station is also very reachable from the Beijingbei (North) train station. It is also quite affordable to reach the place by Didi (550 yuan from the Beijing airport).
The place is clean, and the food really stands out as quite amazing, the prices are also very low, for room and food. Just tell the owner you would want a breakfast and you will be served one first thing in the morning. The ladies are also super nice and very hospitable to the foreign turists.

Facilities are sufficient for our type of travel; that are trekking and Great Wall viewing. Location is excellent with easy access to different parts of the of the Great Wall. Breakfast and dinner were at the stay and the simple local cuisine of good food suited our taste buds .. Topping all is the extra mile service by the owner 崔老版 and his family. We had a beautiful and memorable time here

Guest UserWe stayed one night at Jinshanling Hanting B&B, and the location couldn’t be better—just a short walk from the Great Wall. It’s the perfect spot to catch both sunrise and sunset; the wall opened at 5 a.m. when we visited in early November. Breakfast was included, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We’d definitely recommend staying overnight for the better light and calmer atmosphere instead of doing a day trip. There’s also a great café nearby. To find the place: walk to the entrance gate, turn right, and it’s on the right side after about 30–50 meters.

Guest UserFirst, the pros: The hotel's location is excellent, just a stone's throw from Jinshanling Great Wall, which is incredibly beautiful and peaceful. The hotel's design is also visually appealing, with individual courtyards forming a small village. The standard rooms are designed in a traditional enclosed style with a courtyard, offering good natural light and ventilation.
Now for the cons: Firstly, some of the staff lack professional ethics (let's not even get into service quality). When we were checking out, we couldn't find a taxi. The concierge told us there was nothing they could do and we'd have to take an unlicensed car. Then, a male staff member offered to drive us for an exorbitant 600 yuan! Keep in mind, ride-sharing apps estimated the fare at just over 300 yuan, and a carpool would have been around 180 yuan! We later found out that there's a convenient tourist bus service at the visitor center near the hotel, which runs daily to Beijing Dongzhimen for only 80 yuan, but the staff deliberately withheld this information! Many international guests stay at this hotel; such responses would be a disgrace to Chinese hospitality! I hope the hotel takes this seriously and rectifies the situation.
Another issue is the hotel restaurant, which is quite a rip-off. The 78-yuan smoked chicken had a thick layer of coriander under it, with very little meat! In short, while the hotel itself is beautiful, the service ruins the experience. I've included photos, both good and bad, so everyone can be aware and avoid potential pitfalls.

The hotel's location is pretty good, and the surroundings are very quiet. It's only about a 19-minute drive to Jinshanling Great Wall. However, the Jinshanling exit on the G45 Beijing-Chengde Expressway is closed, so you have to take a detour.
When there are fewer guests, breakfast is served individually with generous portions. When it's busy, they open a buffet with a wider variety of options.
The room was spacious, great for families. But there were a lot of ladybugs (or 'stink bugs' as some call them) that somehow got into the room; we had to clear them out as soon as we checked in.
The bathroom drain was clogged, so the facilities definitely need some maintenance. It's probably okay for a 1-2 night stay.
