Guest UserThis hotel is amazing. We had a free early check in, the staff of the hotel offered us a discount for the breakfast. The breakfast wasn't big, but it was enough to have a very satisfying meal. The staff were very attentive, hospitable and sweet with us. They offered us a room on the upper floor so that the street noises didn't bother us. The room was so nice! It was cozy, very convenient and super clean - one of the best hotel rooms we've ever stayed at.

NinuodewubuIf you're coming to Hunchun, you absolutely *must* stay at the Minzu Garden International Hotel. It's incredibly beautiful and perfect for taking photos. Guests staying on the first floor can rent traditional costumes for free, and each one is clean and stunning. From check-in to check-out, the (domestic) staff were incredibly enthusiastic, helping us with our luggage. The breakfast spread was fantastic, with lots of Korean ethnic dishes like doenjang jjigae, tteok, and dolsot bibimbap. We stayed for two days, and the menu was different each day. The back of the hotel has a large garden villa area, which is the best spot for photos.
The rooms are spacious, and they provide complimentary fruit, VC drinks, and snacks daily. They even gave us steam eye masks. They really think of everything to cater to guests' needs. We were originally very satisfied, but there was a minor incident. We didn't realize that some of the reception staff were from North Korea. My family saw a staff member wearing traditional clothing and thought she looked lovely, so they went up to take a photo. She immediately gave a cold glare and walked away, which startled us and made us feel very awkward. Later, a domestic staff member explained that they aren't allowed to be photographed. However, in the service industry, it's hard to avoid guests wanting to take pictures, especially since they perform in various places – piano, guzheng. This made us hesitant to even take out our phones to record anything later on, making us feel quite on edge. When you're on vacation and looking to relax and have fun, the presence of North Korean staff made the whole atmosphere less relaxed. We're not sure what the reasoning is, but as tourists, our experience wasn't great. Because of this, I can't give a perfect score. If they are always there, then we can only not understand but respect it.

The location is near Xishi Market, and there's a morning market right downstairs. It's too cold now, so many stalls in the morning market aren't open! But there are plenty of food delivery options nearby, making it super convenient for meals! They even have 700cc and Luckin Coffee! Plus, all those local specialties like Da Cha Zhou (corn porridge) are available.

I'm a british traveller with a Chinese wife. I'm mostly located in China and I speak the language.
Hunchun is near to Russia and most of the guests were Russian.
Some of the staff can speak a few words of Russian but not much. And no English!
The Hotel itself is modern, clean and very technically equipped.
The toilet seat is heated, and it flushes itself. The shower took a bit of working out, but once I had mastered it, it was possibly the best shower I'd had in years.
The shower is partitioned from the rest of the toilet, which isn't always the case in China.
There's an AI person who greets you in Chinese when you enter, but we couldn't work out what the purpose of this was. It didn't understand English and my wife couldn't get a lot of sense out of it in Chinese.
But everything else worked, including the curtains which opened and closed remotely.
The TV was large and of an excellent quality. The bed was firm, but not hard like some Chinese beds can be, and we slept very comfortably.
The breakfast was OK, but nothing special. My wife and I are diabetic, so we avoid sweet things.
Although there was plenty of meat, vegetables and eggs to keep us going for the day, there was only sweetened coffee, sweetened milk tea and I think sweetened soy milk, in the drinks machine.
We managed to get plain hot water out of the machine, but there was only paper cups provided, which was a disappointment considering the price we'd paid and the excellent standard of everything else.
I would suggest a coffee machine and milk available at breakfast, and maybe a hot water urn and some tea bags.
And some proper cups!
I think a place of such good quality deserves a bit more of a variety of food. It was OK, but not great. Disappointing.
For people on a low budget (like we were) one should bear in mind that the location isn't very central and it's a bus ride and a 25 minute walk, from the high speed rail station.
Taxis are not very expensive but we don't have much money so we got local buses which are not very frequent.
So I consider the location to be the most disappointing aspect of this hotel.
Everything else was either fine, or excellent.
We would definitely consider going there again in the future.
It was also the only hotel that has allowed us the late checkout which I've been promised by Trip.com.
Thank you!

Guest UserThe location is good, you can walk around. The hygiene is very poor. Some guest's soy milk was thrown on the floor and not cleaned up. The quilt also has a peculiar smell. The facilities are also in tatters, and feel like they have been patched up for another year. The soundproofing is not good. When I was lying in bed at night, it seemed like the people in the next room were talking right above my head. There is no elevator, so you need to walk upstairs with your suitcases. As soon as I entered the room, I slapped two fat, bloody mosquitoes to death. Just deal with it.

I want to comment from the heart. I feel very beautiful when I first checked in. I lived directly in the ancient town. The rooms are very distinctive and very warm. There are programs on the first floor and the second floor at night. You can also interact with NPC, and the actors are also very professional. In addition to the good experience of staying in, the program is very exciting. In the evening, we went to the city to eat and came back to the scenic spot. On the way back to the room, we casually said whether there was a drink. A man who seemed to be on duty came out of the office directly and asked what we needed. We said that the lobby bar seemed to be off work and wanted to drink. He said that there was Coca-Cola, and then my boyfriend didn’t like to drink. I said that I liked to drink, but in the end, I said forget it. It was a bit troublesome for others. The result was just 2 minutes into the room. The front desk called and said that we sent two bottles of drinks and put it at the door. A bottle of Coca-Cola, a bottle of Jasmine tea, is really warmed by their service, although it is a small city on the border, but the connotation is definitely not lost to the big city, a great experience, I will highly recommend it!

For those traveling by car, parking is very convenient. It's also very close to the Bohai Ancient City, making sightseeing easy. The staff are friendly and the lobby is pleasant. Highly recommended.

Guest UserThe room is large, and the bathroom is also large. The room has just been renovated, but there is no peculiar smell in the room at all. The sound insulation effect of the triple-glazed windows is very good. Very good value for money. Bathroom supplies, towels and bath towels are all at the level of a star hotel.
There is a morning market about 100 meters away from the hotel, which has breakfast, vegetables and fruits, which is very convenient.
About 100 meters away from the bus station, buses 5, 8, 101, and 102 stop at this station. Among them, 101 and 102 go to the high-speed rail station.
The hotel is a little far from the main city
