The room itself was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with everything needed for a short stay. The bed was very comfortable, which made a big difference before an early departure. While the décor is slightly dated in places, everything was well-maintained and functional. Staff were friendly and efficient throughout the stay, from check-in to check-out. Service felt professional without being overly formal. Food options were decent, with a few restaurants and a bar available. It’s a bit on the pricier side, but that’s fairly typical for airport hotels. Breakfast was good, with a solid variety to choose from. Overall, Hilton Gatwick is a reliable and stress-free option if you’re flying from Gatwick. It may not be the most modern hotel, but the comfort, cleanliness, and unbeatable location make it well worth considering."

"It's a no frills hotel. Got the job done. I booked as I have an early morning flight like many others who stay in this hotel (or those arriving late at night) Story: so I came to the hotel about one and a half hours early, around 1330-ish. The front desk staff said I can ”check in early” for £50. That's almost what I paid for the booking for a mere 90 min of stay. Point no 1. Point no 2. Context: I haven't read through the hotel policy prior. So I asked the front desk staff if I could leave my luggage there so that my wife and I plus our baby could go grab a bite in the town while waiting for 3 pm. The staff could have easily said no and I would have understood. No biggie. But then he said something ridiculous, that I can store my 3 pieces of luggage for £3 each as a donation for a children's hospital. Now if the hotel policy is no storage just said so, no need to try guilt trip customers into paying for something when it's clearly your KPI to achieve, not mine. Stop deceiving and guilt tripping costumers."

"While the hotel isn't far from the airport as the crow flies, you have to navigate around a highway, so those with large luggage should be extra careful! The hotel's self-check-in system is incredibly user-unfriendly. It showed 'checked in', yet still required a staff member to manually confirm and issue the key card. The problem was, this manual process was even slower! Early check-in isn't permitted; even an hour early costs an extra 5 pounds. The staff offered virtually no service. As for the room, it exemplified 'bare-bones efficiency': a single roll of toilet paper for all needs, one type of liquid soap for both handwashing and showering, and one cup for both drinking and brushing teeth. There was no air conditioning, only a fan."

"It was an interesting experience staying there for a night. I stayed there just after I arrived at the UK from Venice at the latest flight on the day, and on the next morning, I was scheduled to get on the first train at 5:11 from Gatwick. For such traveler who wants to save the maximum time, it was the best hotel. Also, the staff was nice and I was relaxed staying there."

"I would not be giving this a 4 star rating for the hotel. The lobby was clean and tidy. Check in staff great. Rooms dated and lacked fine detail in cleaning. Scum around the baths and shower screens and fridge seals. Tea and coffee complementary in your room so long as you didn’t want any choice, as for two of us only one English breakfast teabag and then 5 camomile!! Used the restaurant in the hotel for dinner. Due to an early flight we decided to eat as a family at 5pm. The staff couldn’t figure out which menu we should be using and three times swapped the menus out. Once food was ordered it come out very sporadically (not all in one go as a family to eat) with one of us waiting 20 minutes from start of meal. The food came out warm and not hot and the staff messed the drinks order up. It is a quiet hotel from airport noise, but if you have someone in the room next door who likes their TV loud then take earplugs as no sound proofing from room to room or room to corridor."
