"We were looking for somewhere to stay in Bontang for a couple of nights. This was the only place that seemed to be available for the dates we wanted. Last time we were in Bontang was 21 years ago. The hotel is very much a sports resort/contractor accommodation type place. Bontang isn't really a tourist location hence the limited choices to stay. We were here for a particular reason so just needed a place to sleep while we were here. The best way to describe the hotel/rooms is 'typical Indonesian'. Everything worked but had seen better days shall we say. Didn't have any concerns regarding cleanliness or safety and the location is really pretty. It's a bit out of the way so you need your own transport or be prepared to pay the going rate for taxis etc. Breakfast is your usual Indonesian fare and there was plenty of variety. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Just one point to clarify, when I made the booking, it was stated that there isn't a front reception so phone ahead to establish how to check in beforehand. In practice, there IS a front reception, just as you would expect in any hotel, so there's no need to worry about what to do about checking in. If you arrived and there was nobody on the desk, someone would soon turn up once your presence was known. All staff that we came across were so polite and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We would have been happy to stay for longer if we had the time."
