"Due to everywhere being so busy after staying in the sea view suite the only space was the dorm but I was blown away but how well appointed it was. I was keen to stay a second night after being blown away by every aspect of the hotel. The staff were amazing, kind, polite, super helpful.
My pod was quite, safe, secure, private, clean and comfy as well as still affording me the super facilities of the resort like the sea access. And great breakfast.
My favourite location in town as such a nice route through to town.
Can’t recommend enough for budget traveller."

"The good thing on that place was the massage chair. Location was ok the room was ok but it’s not same with the picture in their site it was different I book a fan and upgraded with the a.c but it doesn’t work the a.c was not cold at all or because it’s outdated but they give me a refund for the upgrade. It’s little scary when you walk in the night because only 1 post light is working but it’s little bit dime but it was ok better than nothing. The sunset from the restaurant that we had lunch was perfect 5 minutes drive from the property."

"We had a pleasant stay at D Gecko Hotel overall. The hotel is located a bit farther in along an unpaved road, which made the access slightly inconvenient.
We booked a family room, and it was very spacious, perfect for our group. It came with two single beds and one double bed, which made it comfortable for everyone. We also appreciated the small details like having a kettle in the room and a free water dispenser available for refills, which was a big plus.
The only downside for us was the pillows, which were not very comfortable for sleeping. Aside from that, it was a nice stay and good value for families."

"The room was incredibly clean and well-maintained, and the decor was surprisingly new and very comfortable. "The location is fantastic, a 3-minute walk to the beach, with plenty of dive centers nearby that can organize snorkeling and diving trips. The beach is also close to a sardine storm and turtles. The room is basic, but I didn't like the fact that when I turned on the hot shower, the water pressure was very weak. The colder the water, the stronger the pressure. Regarding the room cleaning, they were perfunctory: they took out the trash, changed the towels, made the bed, and that was it. That's why I'm downgrading my rating a bit. I asked for a plate and knife for fruit, and they brought it right away. There's no breakfast, but there's a cafe on site. The food is delicious, but the wait is long, and not everything on the breakfast menu was available. For example, I couldn't order the Filipino breakfast because there was no rice!"

"Excellent hotel! The rooms are cozy, and the staff are polite and helpful. The rooms are fresh and clean, and the grounds are well-maintained too. The location isn't the most convenient if you're on foot, but the hotel itself is in a beautiful spot. They also offer scooters at a very good price – cheaper than renting them 'on the street'. When we arrived, all the scooters were taken, but the girls at the reception suggested a company they work with, and everything was delivered right to the hotel for us. When a hotel scooter became available, we took that. They also helped us with tours. We initially booked the hotel for 2 nights, but we loved it so much that we extended our stay for another 3. By the way, the transfer from the hotel is also more cost-effective than arranging it yourself.
The hotel owners, Nick and Raquel, are very kind and open-hearted; it was a real pleasure and very interesting to chat with them. Abigail and the other girls are also positive and always ready to help. At this hotel, you feel like you're visiting close relatives. Thank you! We would be very happy to stay with you again!)"

"Good for diving in Moalboal, its neptune diving shop are downstairs, only 10 metres away from the coast. But of course, the location is at the end of the street. a bit far from the main street restaurants but it just a 5-10mins walk, acceptable . But it is noisy at night, because it is facing a night club . can hear shouting and music from my room till 2-3am.... the hotel restaurant downstairs but my booking didn't include the breakfast , buy separately will be around 200-300 peso.
Air conditioning is not cool enough. no tooth brush ,paste and hair dryer provided. And the water is hardwater, you can buy bottle water yourself. we arrived late, needed to climb to the top (3rd floor). the staff also helped to take the luggage.
The hotel provided car pick up service from Cebu Mactan airport 3000peso 3-4hrs. provided Kawasan fall Canoyeering with transport ticket and lunch 2500 per person (4hrs) with ”Nancy Kawasan shop”.
Scuba Diving shore 1600peso with gear and dive master, called ”Ar-ink”, nice person."

Amazing beach that’s called the Mushroom rocks. You can observe it during the stay.
Amazing view from the beach or from the rooftop bar where you can see the other island, sea in all of its beauty. Aaaand don’t miss a chance to observe the stars out of terrace. It’s amaaaaaazing.
Restaurant’s right on reception. The food is tasty, especially we liked spring rolls and Wild Orchid omelet. You can chose any table you like (right in front of the beach, on a cafe territory, the rooftop bar or the number balcony.
Pool on common territory is wonderful. Clean, different depth, instagramly. But the best thing, there are no people or maybe few.
Nice staff on reception and kitchen.
Clear, comfortable room. Nice place to come back!"

The hotel is located a bit south to the moalboal town center (approx. 10min by tutuk or motorbike) and away from the main road. You’ll need to cross a bridge made of bamboo sticks first to find your entrance. It’s a quiet place where you can only hear the nature and your own thoughts.
I’d highly recommend the restaurant because they offer great food at a reasonable price, although takes some time to serve so order in advance. Kudos to the owners who are almost always present and will come to the table to introduce themselves and make recommendations if needed. Staff are well-trained and very helpful.
You’ll also get the chance to observe some of the wildlife species like birds and lizards while staying there, which is a plus for me.
A 10/10 experience. Don’t miss it if you enjoy some peace and quiet in the nature.

SShaniceCIf you’re contemplating staying at this resort DON’T HESITATE, JUST DO IT. This resort is 10/10 ! The MOST COMFORTABLE bed and pillows I’ve ever slept on. The grounds are well kept and extremely clean. The resort has a very cozy and secluded feeling to it, so quiet and beautiful. The staff is very friendly and professional. Each room has a bungalow feel to it with your own verandah (porch) and is VERY SPACIOUS. The only thing that surprised me was that it’s a bit of a drive away from the main road BUT that didn’t put a damper on our experience. I was actually so sad to leave this resort, I would 100% return.

It's located right next to the beach where you can see the sardine run. If they had a kitchen, I would have given them five stars across the board. But when I asked for hot water, they brought me an electric kettle, which was a nice touch, good job on that!

RRIf you’re looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, with a refreshing atmosphere in a remote location and especially if you’re into advanced diving this is an excellent place to stay. We stayed for just 1 night, as we wanted to explore other activities and we’re not advanced divers, so we decided to change our plans.
A quick tip: prepare cash in advance. The nearest ATM is quite far from the resort, so you’ll need to take a tricycle or rent a motorbike. The resort only accepts cash.
The highlight for us was the stunning sea view and breathtaking sunset. The property isn’t very large, but with plenty of trees it feels secluded and peaceful. The food was also delicious.

GGuest UserLoved the property and the beach. Best snorkeling we did in Moalboal was direct from the resort and we saw turtles and lots of starfish and marine life. The lifeguard Frankie went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing snorkeling experience. Also enjoyed the pool and the location worked perfectly for us as it was away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough to hit the town for dinner each night. Plus, White Beach is a 5 minute paddle away on the kayak. Would definitely come back again

The downside is that it is in the absolute center so noisy during the evening or else it is perfect to stay in the price.

BBarry9012The good is that it was very clean and more accessible by car than many of the hotels in town. The bad is that there was no hot water because the outlet for the water heater shower was broken. They also had a menu of things you could buy but then they were out of most things. I spoke to another guest and they had the same complaints. We are also used to blankets with the bed, but only a sheet was provided.

GGuest UserThe hotel's air conditioning is a proper AC unit, not just a cooler! It was so much quieter! Other places had noisy coolers that kept me from sleeping. The hotel front desk can also book tours with pick-up and drop-off, which is incredibly convenient... I wish I had known about this hotel sooner! Highly recommend!
