We want to give you a preview of our beach house located just north of Duck, North Carolina. We're excited that you're thinking about renting the place, and we hope you'll have a great visit to the Outer Banks!Our cute little place is soundfront. There's a bench swing in the tree behind the house where you can swing by the water's edge, and there is a set of stairs that lead from the back yard down into the water. The beach is a short walk away on the other side of the island - it's a 5 minute walk. There's a wide, paved bike path that passes in front of our place and leads into the little town of Duck, about two miles away. The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms connected by a jack-and-jill bathroom. One of the bedrooms has two twin beds, and the other bedroom has a queen size bed and a sitting area with a television and dvd player. There is also a balcony that is only accessible from the large upstairs bedroom. There is also a master bedroom on the main level.On the main level, there is a great room. There is a dining table that seats six, and there is an island with seating for two between the kitchen and the dining area. In the living area, there is a love seat, a couch, and a chair in addition to a television and dvd player. There is also a non-working fireplace for ambiance in cooler months. There is also a master bedroom and bathroom on the main level. There are three sliding glass doors that lead out from the great room onto the deck that wraps around two sides of the house. The deck faces the Currituck Sound, so you can see the sun set over the water each evening. There is also an additional extension to the deck that holds a hot tub. A door leads from the kitchen out to a screened in porch where you can enjoy outdoor dining, and the porch exits to the deck. Under the house, there is a laundry room and an enclosed outdoor shower. There is also space to park under the house if you want. The kitchen is fully stocked with nearly any dish or cooking equipment you might need. We leave some things in the refrigerator and freezer empty, such as condiments. You'll find that there is a cabinet with some oil and spices, and there may be another shelf with pantry items that we leave at the house. You are welcome to use anything you find in the refrigerator or cabinets; we'll just ask that you replace anything that you use up. This is atypical with beach house rentals, but this way you don't have to remember to bring your own salt shaker, and we don't have to clean out every speck of evidence that we spend time here, too.We also have an extra closet with a lock on in the master bedroom on the main floor where we our clothes and toys for our visits. Nothing interesting really, just our personal stuff. We have several board games and puzzles that are available for you to use, and you're welcome to use any of the beach toys and chairs in the storage room. There are two kayaks and a surfboard on the rack under the deck; you are welcome to use those. Please don't attempt to use the sailboats unless you are an experienced sailor and have checked with us ahead of time about using them. One of the best things about the location of our house is experiencing sunset over the Currituck Sound! Welcome to "The Cozy Duck OBX", a 4 bedroom 2 bath cottage in beautiful Duck surrounded by live oaks and with a ground floor outdoor shower. Wake up early and walk 500 feet straight to a direct private street beach access (only for residents and guests on this street; there is no public access) to enjoy that amazing sunrise over the ocean. Downtown Duck is less than 1 mile away, making for a quick walk or bike ride to the famous Duck Donuts, outstanding restaurants, excellent boutique shops, and enjoy the beautiful sunset on the boardwalk on the sound.Once you enter the house you will instantly be transported to vintage OBX with the rustic charm of beautiful knotty pine paneling. The living, kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms are all on one level with a bonus loft upstairs. There is a TV with Roku in the living room as well as in the loft area (where there are an assortment of boardgames and children's toys). There are plenty of restaurants in Duck if you wish to avoid cooking entirely during your stay, but the kitchen is stocked for your culinary activities including pots, pans, baking sheets, flatware, glasses, a toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker (bring your k-cups or ground) and dishes. We also have 500 mbps wireless internet to keep everyone connected to school or work. Our home offers 1 queen bed (firm), 1 full bed (soft), 2 twins and 2 sets of bunks. All updated mattresses, quilts, and linens! It is best suited for small families or groups, but our beds offer flexible sleeping arrangements. Please note the top bunks are for young children only and not adult use. Enjoy some peace and quiet on the top deck, or chill out in the shade in the porch on the main level. In the front driveway is a basketball hoop and plenty of greenspace for tossing around a football. We do have two Weber charcoal kettle grills and picnic table available as well. We love our dog and welcome your dogs too (pet fee extra of $150). Sorry, no kitties or any other animals since our children are highly allergic to felines. We do limit to a maximum of 2 well behaved pups and ask that you try to keep them off the beds and furniture. We want our guests to enjoy the lawn, so please also scoop the poop!Duck is one of the best dog friendly beach towns in OBX. Dogs are allowed on the beach year-round in Duck as long as they are leashed. This home is strictly for NONSMOKERS (vaping is also not permitted).
