Loch Ness Clansman Hotel

Opposite Loch Ness. Stunning view from bedroom. Hotel is a bit dated. Breakfast amazing.

Good location.

Stayed here with a group of 26 and had a wonderful visit! The hotel is located right on the Loch and has underground access to the water so you don’t have to risk life and limb crossing a busy road. The views are spectacular and in addition to a spacious dining room, there is an ample deck if you want to enjoy the outside. The rooms are cozy and modern and the food was excellent. The hotel also has a VAST gift shop if you are looking for “supplies” or souvenirs from the Loch. But, the real reason to stay here is the staff- they are absolutely incredible. We’d booked our stay over a year in advance because of the size of our group and Ula at the front desk worked with me to secure all of the accommodations and answered all of my questions. A special shoutout to the daytime manager Adam for not making fun of my poor Scottish accent imitation and to Anu, the nighttime manager for overseeing our group dinner and getting my wife her favorite dish. These are genuinely friendly, wonderful people. This was my second stay at the Clansman and I would stay here again!

Stayed here three nights as part of Great Railways Tour. Could not ask for a better view of Loch Ness as hotel is situated on small hill overlooking the Loch. You can pick up a ferry boat for a tour of the Loch or to go to Urquart Castle a few steps from the hotel. Meals were outstanding and very attentive service (deserts were a highlight!) Rooms were a bit older but comfortable and bathrooms appeared newly renovated. Not a large hotel (there is a separate bunkhouse adjacent to the hotel - would recommend staying in main hotel unless a large group that the bunkhouse might be more comfortable. Only 20 minutes to Inverness. Centrally located for exploring the Highlands. Would highly recommend!

We called in at lunchtime passing by on the way to Morayshire. I left my jumper by mistake and didn't discover it till much later. I texted the hotel. Not expecting a quick reply but I got a lovely reply to say they had found it. They offered to post it on to me. I explained I wouldn't be home in England till the next week. They said they would post it to arrive when I got home. They were as good as their word. That's what happened. Lovely people. Lovely hotel and lovely lunch. Special thanks to Adam.
