My husband and I are lately returned from the Il Moresco Hotel on the Italian island of Ischia, having enjoyed a wonderful stay. The hotel itself is very beautiful, with comfortable public areas and spacious, well appointed and spotlessly clean rooms. All the staff we had any dealings with were extremely friendly and helpful, with the manager giving us a tour of the hotel and grounds when we arrived. The pool is a thermal one, fed from natural springs and is heated to 28 degrees and the 'grotto' is heated to 30 degrees! This makes for a truly luxurious swimming experience. Downstairs in the hotel is the spa, with another heated (30 degrees), thermal pool, sauna, steam room and comfy loungers to help you make the most of your experiences there. Although we did not avail ourselves of any treatments, the staff were very welcoming. The gardens of the hotel are immaculately cared for and are full of trees, palms and all manner of plants that add colour and drama to the pool area. Breakfast by the pool was a special treat as it meant enjoying the gardens in that quiet time before the sun loungers started to be occupied. Although the Il Moresco is not on the beach, it does have a 'beach club' a very short walk away. The decked area is spacious, with toilet/changing facilities, many loungers and a bar/cafe. It juts out over the sea to give an impression of being on board ship! Again the staff here are brilliant, opening and rearranging sun umbrellas as required. Our travelling companions were my sister and brother-in-law and they completely share our views of this wonderful hotel. My sister has coeliac disease, and so requires a gluten free diet - the hotel were more than accommodating and she was very generously catered for by staff who understood the implications and necessity of her needs. Everything was handled discreetly and without drama! Overall, we had an absolutely brilliant time here and would thoroughly recommend it. You will not be disappointed.

Omg, what can I say?? Can’t speak highly enough of this Ischia icon, Grand hotel punta molino! From when we stepped out the ferry, promptly welcomed by the smart and smiling Ciro on the transfers, to Ciro the concierge( such a charismatic figure and so friendly!) and all the team at the reception , ladies and boys,ever smiling, helpful and knowledgeable. A mention to the GM Antonio Buono, what a gent, he’s a constant presence and reassurance to his team, at the point that the other day he was around the beach asking customers if they wanted any drinks ordered,what a humble guy, he always had a word with everybody by let you feel special,what a professional. Not forgetting all the lifeguards on the beach from the head Franco to all the rest of the team, the staff at the breakfast and the housekeepers, all amazing. We spent 4 nights here after touring Italy, it was very relaxing and just what we needed. Perfectly situated between the port and the castello, with lots of great restaurants within easy walking distance (or the frequent island buses if you don't like to stroll!). Staff were all very friendly and helpful, Laura was very attentive to guests. Breakfast (included) not a buffet, you select from options and they all come on the same plate. I ended up eating more than I would have from a buffet.... Pool was quiet and very warm, perfect. Our room had a great view of the castello - make sure you get that side, overlooking the pool. Rooms were fine, but a bit small, nowhere to stash our big suitcases. We did not use the roof top restaurant, too fancy for the kids, but we had the odd goody from the chef while enjoying a drink, so I would expect a fabulous meal!

Well what a great hotel. Perfect location and lovely staff. We just literally walked out of our hotel each day and so much was on the doorstep. The beds were comfy we both slept really well. Bathroom was great with a huge shower. We had a room overlooking the harbour with a nice balcony although it was too hot to sit on in the afternoon so we would go upstairs to the rooftop pool which was heated and a lovely blue colour and not green as mentioned in some other articles. The staff by the pool were most helpful and provided us with little snacks and gin and tonics galore whenever we requested them. There are plenty of sunbeds on the roof terraces so no need to rush to reserve a space as there is room for everyone. Breakfast was served from 7.30am to 10.30am and was cakes, pastries, fruit, cheese, ham and eggs coffee, juices etc. All fresh and lovely. Cannot recommend enough and would definitely come back.

I had the most amazing time staying in this hotel for 21 nights. I was so happy with the room I was given (26) which had a balcony and a beautiful sea view. This was a single room and I really liked how authentic it was which I felt, matched the style of Ischia perfectly! The room was always spotless as it was cleaned daily by a lovely, friendly cleaner. I always felt safe and comfortable here and it was good to have such a nice person at reception who was so helpful and always had a chat with me :) For me the character of the hotel made it and my favourite part was the garden with gorgeous flowers and plants and areas to sit. I couldn’t believe how close the hotel was to beaches, shops, restaurants, cafes etc and this combined with the friendly community of Ischia for me, made it the most perfect place to stay! I would definitely stay here again. Thank you so much for making me feel so welcome ❤️.

Not as bad as some reviews might have you believe. Yes, rooms could do with some updating but on the whole they are ok. We stayed in the annexe wing (room 93). Staff were great throughout and provided a great welcome and excellent service at all times. Our stay was on half board basis and all food was excellent with good choices on offer for breakfast and dinner. The hotel is well located being around 10-15 mins walk to the local centre (Ischia Ponte) and 20-30 mins to the larger and busier Ischia Porto both with numerous shops, bars and restaurants. One thing to note is that accessibility could be an issue for older guests or those with disabilities. The guest rooms are located over multiple levels with only the main building served by an elevator, access to the annexe wing is by several internal flights of stairs only. Some areas of the grounds including the lower pool and sun lounge area are also accessible by multiple steps only. On the whole we had a very enjoyable stay and we would visit again.
