The hotel is in a good location in the old city, within walking distance of Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. Tips: A short distance from the hotel requires hotel staff to pick you up, because vehicles are prohibited from 10am-8pm. The top floor is not open yet, so we were very considerate and gave you a welcome drink when you checked in. Since we had to catch a flight at four in the morning, the hotel also gave us a breakfast box to take away when we checked out. Overall, I am very satisfied and the staff are very enthusiastic~

We stayed as a large group...I have several comments... I'll start with the could of positive comments I have 1) location is nice 2) beds are comfortable 3) rooms are small but quaint and clean Negative 1) we emailed in advance asking if they are able to accommodate us with children included ... They stated they are equipped for us. We emailed in advance to let them know that we have children and if this is not a children friendly hotel we would like to pick something else. When we arrived.... We were placed on different floors even though this was a specific request discussed with the hotel... So I now have a 7/5 year old in one room. 2) the walls are thin, between rooms as well as the outside so you hear traffic 3) we were status Platinum and titanium... Treated like garbage. Some of our rooms included breakfast some didn't due to status. They treated us like we were stealing food....a waiter came up and told us that if we even tasted something on another plate and didn't keep to our own..... We would be charged for extra breakfast... Even if paying for our own already. Mind you we have children ranging from 3-16 and they might not eat everything and we are very conscious about wastage of food. If I could rebook again, I would just put breakfast on there to avoid confusion and not be treated like I'm trying to steal food. 4) they are not organized and we have received information that is different based on the person you are speaking with 5) this is not a friendly hotel with great service.... Truly wish we had not chosen this place. It really puts a damper on us getting together. These are once in ten years type of trips because we are professionals with children and it is difficult to coordinate schedules. If you are looking for warmth and great service... Do not expect it from this place.

First of all, I would just like to say that Gamze & Emek we’re so pleasant during my five day stay there. Anything I needed, or didn’t even ask for, they were there offering help for me. This is a newer hotel, only six months old, so there weren’t a lot of reviews when I booked this place. It’s within walking distance to the main attractions of Istanbul. Status got me a free breakfast on the rooftop every morning. You had a choice of Turkish, American, or healthy choice – all with an egg option. They also had a dinner menu however I did not take advantage of that. The gym was very adequate with new and up-to-date equipment. There is a spa as well, but I did not partake in any of those services. They offer car service, €55 each way, two and from the airport. I highly recommend it due to the crazy traffic and distance from the airport to the hotel. The rooms are your typical autograph quality that you get in most of the locations. Comfortable beds – and very comfortable pillows.

The hotel location is near all forms of public transportation. That was extremely convenient to move within the historic area along with metropolitan Istanbul. vehicular entry to the hotel needs arrangement with the wonderful front desk staff, bc it’s located at a restricted vehicular area. The room looks wonderful. It is a corner room with two large windows. The room lighting has multi options, which gives the room many ambiance options (we were still discovering new setting our sixth and last night there☺️). Lighting varairty gave the room a wonderful feeling which the dark green color dominating the walls. I only wished the above the bead reading lights were individually controlled so that I don’t have to light up my wife’s light when reading late while she is asleep. (That may be a yet to be discovered option 😅) The furniture is unique and has a wonderful feel and appeal to the eye. Though I have to mention that the lack cupboard makes the exposed hanging clothes an eye sore. The same applies to the lack of used towel hangers. There is a wonderful cloths steamer and the hotel will provide bottled water for its use, and daily complementary two large water bottles to drink and make coffee or tea (we did not make any at the room). The hotel also provide complementary small cold or room temperature water bottles for guests as they leave the hotels; one can ask for those at the front desk. The toilet, & shower are individually tucked behind a glass walls & doors arrangement with the sink between them. Breakfast consist of three set menus: Turkish, American & healthy options. The Turkish breakfast was wonderful and had a virtually of dishes that one can never be bored off. The Resturant seating arrangement was wonderful. It overlooked the Golden Horn, Sea of Marmara, The Bosphorus, Top Kape Palace and much more. It had a DJ at dinner time. Table and seats are steady and comfortable, but some seats has wire mesh back can damage cloths by snatching fabric threads. Being of a limited access, did not prevent truck noise from disturbing our sleep & peace often. Nearby loud speakers, motorbike, horns construction machinery sounds and dogs did not help too. The other major negative is the lack of privacy at the toilet. Although there is a glass door with patterns all over, it’s not sound proof and still semitransparent. It would have helped if there was an electric plug near the clothes hangers to ease steaming clothes. Keeping the best asset the hotel has for last; I have to complement the hotel on their front desk staff. The front desk staff was above and beyond what one can hope for. They were very kind, helpful and genuine. They called the airport transfer company, which I hired, for my money and passports bag which I left on the vehicle. The driver was a very honest person and brought the bag within minutes once he was informed of its presence in his car. The front desk staff was also helpful calling me an airport transfer at a very

This hotel has gotten all 5* reviews thus far and I do believe that it is largely well-deserved because the staff--I'd call out Jana in particular--just bends over backwards in order to be accommodating to the guests requests. This is partly because the hotel is relatively new and they want to make sure that they start out on the right foot, which is, of course, the correct strategy. That said, there are a bunch of minor problems with the hotel--or at least with the room that my son and I got. One such problem is that the bathroom door wouldn't close fully. This is not a big deal when traveling with family of course, but if traveling with a friend or an acquaintance (and we did get a double room with two separate beds), this might be an issue. Also, there was no bath gel or shampoo in our room; both the canisters/holders in the bathroom had conditioner in them for some reason. A more serious problem is that the internet could be slow; in fact, it crashed 2 times when I was guest lecturing for a professor (don't ask me why I was working while on vacation--that's a story for another day). So, it was a bit embarrassing. Finally, the washbasin got clogged up because the stopper wasn't working properly. Again, I want to reiterate that, in the larger scheme of things, these are relatively minor problems and the staff went well and beyond call of duty to be accommodating. For instance, they sought us out to check in to see if our issue had been resolved and even gave us a complimentary ride back to the airport on the last day. I'd definitely stay here again in a heartbeat; I just don't feel it's fair to give them a 5* rating just yet though.

Absolutely loved our stay at the beautiful Orient Occident Hotel in Istanbul. The interior is beautifully done and the rooms just lovely. The hotel is well located with the Hagia Sophia just about 12mins walk away. The hotel also has one of the best views of the city from their rooftop restaurant. The hotel staff made our stay extra special, as they were all so very helpful. Special thanks to Batikan Cicim and Abrek Satu Önce from reception for being superstars! The breakfast is also very good (highly recommend the Turkish Breakfast), and no better way than to overlook Istanbul while having it! Thanks to the friendly breakfast team (Fulya, Aram, Otpe, Enes and Fatih)! Would definitely stay at the Orient Occident again without hesitation!

This is a hotel where every detail is thoughtful and delightful. The lobby has a stunning modern mosaic wall, a patisserie, a library, and a staff that delights in showing off this hotel. The rooms are sumptuous with useful toiletries. The rooftop restaurant has a nice selection of food and drink and an amazing view, perfect for sunsets.

This hotel is amazing. Excellent location to see all the sites: bazaars, Blue Mosque, Cistern, Hagia Sophia, New Mosque, waterfront, all within walking distance. There is no M lounge, but there’s a small mezzanine room that offers coffee, tea, and water. Our breakfast was free because of status and it was amazing. The rooftop restaurant offers spectacular views. The room and bedding were very comfortable. I regret not “borrowing” a pillow to take home! Sooo soft. LOL. Our flight home was super early and they surprised us with sandwiches and orange juice. PRO: location, staff (they helped us order a pizza our last night!!), breakfast, housekeeping, smell of in-room soap and shampoo, full dental kits….everything!!! CON: two silly cons. So. Many. Blue. Indicator. Lights!! I appreciate the technology of the room, but we had to tape cardboard over some of the features to sleep. Figuring out the room lighting was a constant comedy. Other con was the bathroom design. Very open concept and probably not suitable for family with children or people who don’t know each other intimately. Even as a married couple of 20+ years it got weird. We 1000% loved our stay.

The Orient Occidental is 5 star by all measures. The front desk staff, especially Furkan, went above and beyond making us welcome. Housekeeping is paramount to our comfort and they were superior. The kitchen and wait staff provided hot, delicious, and timely meals at our request. We are already planning on returning in 2025.
