This is a stunning property and all around excellent place to stay with one caveat. The amenities are excellent, the grounds tranquil and gorgeous. The library was a nice place to chill, has snacks all day, whisky an sake/champagne in the evening to enjoy a nightcap, special little treats outside in the garden etc. The onsen was magic and the nature trail to connect you to the forest and surrounding areas was delightful. The staff was incredible, attentive, and kind. Anything we needed they happily accommodated. We had a treatment at the spa And the kaiseki dinner with sake pairing which were both lovely and worth the expense. But the rooms may not live up to your expectations. We rented a junior maisonette for our family of four. While what is pictured on the website is lovely and inviting, what we got was a two story townhouse in the middle of a three-plex that felt a little old, was at the edge of the property, and faced a road that was hidden by a tall fence. Had I know this is what I was getting I would have definitely chosen differently and probably not stayed here. Because for as expensive this property is I expected the actual room to be far superior than what it was. But if you can secure one of the better rooms on the water then I say go for it.

The front desk 竹村, on June 18th 10:50, she told us there’s no pick up service after check out (there is), without offering any assistance to deliver our bags to the station. We feel that the staffs are poorly trained when it comes to the hotel facility nor their communication skills. The hotel itself is highly enjoyable especially the hot spring! Everything is brand new and the surroundings are epic! I’m sorry to have to minus one star because of 竹村’s poor reaction to customers’ requests.

Our stay at the hotel was great! Being a Marriott Bonvoy member allowed us a nice upgrade for our room. Onsite staff spoke English very well. The room was very orderly and spacious. Also, this Marriott was one of the few hotels I have been to that had the room allergy ready when I told them I was allergic to feathers on the reservation. The free beverages (beer, wine, cocktails, juice, and soda) and hot meals during the membership lounge time were nice. The public bath was very clean and relaxing. The management team went above and beyond! We asked the doorman to arrange a taxi to get to a local restaurant. Instead, he worked with the assistant manager, who told us he would personally drive us to the restaurant (even included a return trip!) The breakfast buffet was excellent and had both American and Japanese fare. I will recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family who visit the area.

The breakfast buffet was impressive, beautifully arranged and delicious. It was the nicest breakfast buffet I’d ever seen. The restaurant staff were really nice. Hotel offered a complimentary “shuttle service” which is a ride in two really nice Mercedes cars. This service is just to certain spots. Drivers spoke good English and were really nice. The reception staff was a bit of hid and miss, some spoke good enough English and some were considerably better. They were never rude but maybe not as friendly as in other places we stayed. The rooms were really nice and comfortable. They had special amenities for children and super cute pjs. It is a really nice boutique hotel.

At the moment I arrived by car, the scenery of the building scattered on the slope spread, the non daily nature spread, and it was a little exciting. The hospitality was good overall. The dinner of the pride was generally delicious. However, it seems that it is probably the taste of the material, and it is dared, but how many goods I wanted a little more salty? The steak of the heart was fortunately salty. The breakfast was a buffet style, but it was delicious enough, but I feel room for a little more. It is a pity that the bread was not good. I felt like I would try it again in different seasons.

There are three rooms in the two-story villa, one of which has four beds and the other two beds. Each room has a bathtub. The open-air hot spring in the room is very small and can only accommodate one person, but the bathroom has a large jacuzzi and a TV. The vacation is really great. The ski resort is very close, and you can play at the age of three. Aolai has a few big names that are still expensive. The sukiyaki pot and teppanyaki in the hotel are great. If you bring children, it is more suitable than Hoshino, and Hoshino Hot Spring can not go. The hot spring in the hotel is already very good. There is a big supermarket, Delice, which is 15 minutes by taxi. You can buy things and cook in the room. The cooking in the room is very convenient. The waiter can wash the dishes. It is perfect.

The property is very charming and the photos shown are true to actual. Location is a bit far from the station so best to arrange the shuttle bus service or take a cab. Room is neat and cosy and the private onsen is a nice bonus. Breakfast is lovely and the fresh vegetables were amazing however the dinner was a let down as it wasn’t served in the restaurant. Instead we were provided with a voucher for redemption at the bar. The food is just average, beef was not very fresh, and your clothes and hair reek of smell after dinner as they cook the food right at the bar.

The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from Karuizawa station. Take the north exit on the bridge/walkway after coming up from Shinkansen platform, it's the left. There's a tourist info with helpful people at the end of the corridor, and an escalator next to it. Once you come out, with your back to the station, walk straight down the road, and take left at the first traffic light, near the Shell station. The hotel is opposite Family Mart. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room was generous-sized with an ante-room which has a fridge, some storage cupboards and the main room is nice and big with a good-sized bed. They provide 2 bottles of water. You can take day trips to Naka Karuizawa, Shiraiito Falls among other destinations using the bus service outside the station. It's a lot easier if you have Suica card or you will need to carry many 1000 yen notes. On the way back you can you can stop off at Kyu Karuizawa and walk the streets of Old Ginza. It can also be reached by foot, takes about 25-30 minutes.

Because it was a business hotel price of the Chisan group, I was able to stay at a fairly good price in the Goto campaign. It was good to get a regional ticket for 2000 yen and buy beer and snacks at a nearby convenience store and stay cheaper than staying overnight. I wanted to see the red leaves of unba Ike pond, so I used it to go early in the morning in front of me, but it was the correct answer with breakfast plan. It was delicious! I will use it again

The hotel is a small European-style building located on the main street of the town. There is a beautiful garden and parking garage opposite the tourist association. The room is very large in Japan with a balcony, and the upstairs can be heated indoors and open air. The front desk of the hotel can communicate with people in English. The breakfast variety is more than the self-service form. The price of 2,500 yen is not cheap. The hotel bicycle rental is more expensive. There is a rental shop next to 100 meters and the car is particularly light and easy to ride.

Although it is far from the station, it is very convenient to have someone to pick it up by car. In the morning, you will be booked with you to determine the time to go. The only inconvenience is that there is no supper in my order. There are no convenience stores around. Other play facilities and hot spring bath facilities are ok The prices are also very clean. West side was around 10 min walk from the outlet mall and took us nearly 30 mins to walk (with a kid) to the East Side Snow Park. Room was just okay for its price - lobby looks better and newer than the room which was a bit old fashioned, yellowish (without a full mirror too) and not spacious. We drove there. For this price point, we would try other hotels next time, like Hilton in the area, given we need to walk a long way from West Side to everywhere, even to the hotel lobby and car park.

I really enjoyed my stay at this brand new hotel. Although it has been open for a couple of months, they have kept everything spotless. The lobby with open fire is beautiful and a comfortable area to have a drink and relax. The room itself was also incredibly clean and everything worked well including the WiFi. The hanten jackets were in the colours of the Ukranian flag which was a nice touch. The breakfast was good, as was the restaurant in the evening. The public bath was a nice place to soak after dinner. Service was good although it's clear the team was new and still training - I am sure this will change in time. Small criticim is there was no room service menu in the room. This was fine as it was on the TV but navigating to the menu needed Japanese skills. The architecture and general design is fantastic, as are the fittings and the carpets are just beautiful - same as all new IHG properties I think.

The host was friendly and welcoming. We went early to drop off our baggage and even though it wasn't opened yet, he came out to entertain us and kept it for us. When we returned to check in, he was very warm and offered us a hot welcome drink, which was something we needed in the cold weather. He was very clear with his explanation, and we felt happy to hang out at the lounge area for drinks after we settled in. Bed was a little hard, but besides that, everything else was provided for and good.

One of the hotels I don't want to teach a few of them. I renovated the place where it was the original 々 store and was in the hotel, but I had a good sense and stayed in New York well, but I feel like I remind you of that time. The size is sufficient and the amenities are substantial. The Japanese room I stayed in also has floor heating, so comfortable and so reasonable hotel is the first time. Usually stay in a foreign hotel chain, but it doesn't pull at all. The staff is also very friendly and polite. I would like to come again.

It is easy to understand because it is close to Karuizawa Station and is located on the main street. However, it is difficult to understand the entrance of the hotel, but I wondered if I should enter from the restaurant. Only standard double rooms are available for dogs. It's pretty narrow. It feels like a stylish business hotel. The bed is comfortable. There is a large dog gauge toilet sheet and a butt wipe. The bathroom and toilet are in the same room, but they are large. I was interested in the toilet. Should I remove the toilet seat when cleaning? The amenities were in a cute cloth bag for two people, but there was no toothbrush in one cloth bag. There are 2 bottles of mineral water in the wine cellar. It's a pity that there is no pot. It would be nice to have a water server that can produce hot water without a pot. There are 2 coin laundry machines. Ice maker, juice and alcohol are sold by themselves. The restaurant is delicious, but the amount of dinner and morning is large, and the contents are covered, so it seems that you will get tired of staying for consecutive nights or using it frequently ... The taste is strong (good compatibility with alcohol) Even for people with small children I was there, but maybe my kids aren't likely to eat it. Dessert also has an adult taste. The restaurant is very cold near the entrance and on the window side and requires a coat. All the staff are kind. It is cheap considering the food and convenience for the price. Especially recommended for those who want to enjoy the whole of Karuizawa and enjoy Spanish cuisine. I want to use it again.

Although this hotel had one of the cheaper room prices (for the duration that we were staying), the overall experience was average / slightly below average and on hindsight we might have splurged a little to upgrade to a bigger room in a more central location. The room was very small – after clearing out whatever furniture we could (table was packed in the cabinet where the bedding was kept and most other things had to be stacked on top of each other to maximise space), there was barely enough space to lay out two mattresses right beside our luggages (note that you have to set up the beds yourself). We spotted some strange black spots on the futon covers which deterred us from using the futons. We did, however, appreciate that the room came with a small refrigerator, a small key-operated safe box and a working heater. The walls and floors are thin, so you will hear footsteps along the corridor and (if you are unlucky, as we were, to have a room next to the toilet) gurgling sounds from the plumbing system. Bathrooms and restrooms are shared. The communal shower area on the first floor has a small bath (could accommodate approximately 3 strangers, any more would be uncomfortable), but the water is still and I'm not certain if it was actually from the hot springs. We were grateful that the usual amenities were provided (toiletries, body lotion, hairdryers). There were other onsens nearby which were open for day trips, but we were turned away by the prices (bearing in mind that we had just travelled from onsen heaven, Kusatsu town). Location-wise, while we were given a free shuttle ride from and to Karuizawa Station during check-in and check-out, we had to find our own way around the rest of the time. There are some attractions in the Naka-Karuizawa area, but the main highlights are nearer to the Karuizawa Station. The walk from the hotel to Naka-Karuizawa Station (one stop away from Karuizawa Station) takes about 10-15 minutes, and the street lights can get rather dim by 7pm and are almost non-existent by 10pm. Alternatively, there are buses that ply the area, but the bus fares were nearly double the train fares and accessibility of information was an issue (it was hard looking up bus timetables online). Another alternative is to rent bicycles from the hotel at ¥1000 per day. Service-wise – hit and miss. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful, others not so. A few of them were able to communicate in English. Food-wise, there were some decent options (e.g. Harunire Terrace), but not always budget-friendly and most close by evening (sans restaurants, with pretty steep prices). There is a 7-11 about 100m away but consumption of food in the store is not allowed. It closes at 11pm. All in all, if you're fine with sacrificing some creature comforts and travelling longer distances to save on accommodation, this hotel could be one of your considerations. But if your budget is not the main priority, there may be better options els

The laundry room, a vending machine, water dispenser and ice dispenser were all together in a room on the 2nd floor, easy to access and also clean. There was a shuttle bus that goes from the hotel to the nearby onsen, bus terminal, skating rink and a different hotel that’s next to Karuizawa Kogen Church. A potential downside is the distance from the main train station, but it wasn’t difficult to take a local bus to the bus terminal and switch to the shuttle. Hotel is within walking distance to Harunire Terrace with great restaurants. Overall, the vibe of the area was more peaceful and relaxing, and the hotel was very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and kind. It was an amazing stay!

We stayed here for 2 nights straight from Narita. It was easy enough to navigate from the station with 2 big suitcases and 2 small children at night. It was relatively close to 2 convenience stores so we could easily stock up on supplies. We booked the family room but I was a bit disappointed that whilst there was a separate tatami area meant for the kids there was no bedding to speak of. Even pillows or blankets. So they squeezed in with us in the beds. Otherwise the room itself was nice and compact but not too cramped due to the additional tatami area. The bath tub was a nice touch and well enjoyed by the kids. The breakfast spread was small but delicious. There was a games time in the evenings where there was sometimes popcorn or other snacks and drinks available. The staff were very helpful and friendly with sightseeing options and bus schedules despite their limited English. We felt very welcomed here.

In Karuizawa, I usually stay at a hotel in front of the genre, but sometimes I change my intention... and stay here in the Japanese style room. A hotel is a cottage even in front of the genre, so there are some places where the distance to walk skiing is long, but it is convenient because it sends you to the front of the ski center. Also, if you eat at the outlet early in the evening, you will still be in time for free transfer bus time, so you can not walk on the snowy road at night. The restaurant in the hotel is clean and delicious, and lunch is very recommended.

The communal shower area on the first floor has a small bath (could accommodate approximately 3 strangers, any more would be uncomfortable), but the water is still and I'm not certain if it was actually from the hot springs. There were other onsens nearby which were open for day trips, but we were turned away by the prices (bearing in mind that we had just travelled from onsen heaven, Kusatsu town). Location-wise, while we were given a free shuttle ride from and to Karuizawa Station during check-in and check-out, we had to find our own way around the rest of the time. There are some attractions in the Naka-Karuizawa area, but the main highlights are nearer to the Karuizawa Station. The walk from the hotel to Naka-Karuizawa Station (one stop away from Karuizawa Station) takes about 10-15 minutes, and the street lights can get rather dim by 7pm and are almost non-existent by 10pm. Alternatively, there are buses that ply the area, but the bus fares were nearly double the train fares and accessibility of information was an issue (it was hard looking up bus timetables online). Another alternative is to rent bicycles from the hotel at ¥1000 per day. Service-wise – hit and miss. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful, others not so. A few of them were able to communicate in English. Food-wise, there were some decent options (e.g. Harunire Terrace), but not always budget-friendly and most close by evening (sans restaurants, with pretty steep prices). There is a 7-11 about 100m away but consumption of food in the store is not allowed. It closes at 11pm. All in all, if you're fine with sacrificing some creature comforts and travelling longer distances to save on accommodation, this hotel could be one of your considerations. Had I know this is what I was getting I would have definitely chosen differently and probably not stayed here. Because for as expensive this property is I expected the actual room to be far superior than what it was. But if you can secure one of the better rooms on the water then I say go for it.

The hotel is almost entirely self-service, and you fold the mattresses and quilts yourself. Each room has a bathroom. When taking a bath, it is a public bathhouse. It is not possible for two people to wash together in the bathhouse. It is a bit crowded for three people. The hotel's nearest convenience store is a 10-minute walk away. The room itself was neat and clean, with sufficient space to hang clothes/coats. The bedroom area had tatami mats and were a nice touch to the room decor. Check-in can be done on your own, with an English menu, but there are always staff around at the reception area to assist. There is a communal area on the first floor and a cafe. There are games (Jenga, UNO, etc.) throughout the indoor communal area and there was complementary popcorn available in the evening. The indoor communal area also has a pingpong table. The outdoor communal area was nicely decorated with cushions, throw blankets and had a campfire of sorts in the evenings (trip was during early winter). The laundry room, a vending machine, water dispenser and ice dispenser were all together in a room on the 2nd floor, easy to access and also clean. There was a shuttle bus that goes from the hotel to the nearby onsen, bus terminal, skating rink and a different hotel that’s next to Karuizawa Kogen Church. A potential downside is the distance from the main train station, but it wasn’t difficult to take a local bus to the bus terminal and switch to the shuttle. Hotel is within walking distance to Harunire Terrace with great restaurants. Overall, the vibe of the area was more peaceful and relaxing, and the hotel was very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and kind. It was an amazing stay!

Although this hotel had one of the cheaper room prices (for the duration that we were staying), the overall experience was average / slightly below average and on hindsight we might have splurged a little to upgrade to a bigger room in a more central location. The front desk 竹村, on June 18th 10:50, she told us there’s no pick up service after check out (there is), without offering any assistance to deliver our bags to the station. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from Karuizawa station. Take the north exit on the bridge/walkway after coming up from Shinkansen platform, it's the left. There's a tourist info with helpful people at the end of the corridor, and an escalator next to it. Once you come out, with your back to the station, walk straight down the road, and take left at the first traffic light, near the Shell station. The hotel is opposite Family Mart. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room was generous-sized with an ante-room which has a fridge, some storage cupboards and the main room is nice and big with a good-sized bed. They provide 2 bottles of water. You can take day trips to Naka Karuizawa, Shiraiito Falls among other destinations using the bus service outside the station. It's a lot easier if you have Suica card or you will need to carry many 1000 yen notes. On the way back you can you can stop off at Kyu Karuizawa and walk the streets of Old Ginza. It can also be reached by foot, takes about 25-30 minutes.

We stayed here for 2 nights straight from Narita. It was easy enough to navigate from the station with 2 big suitcases and 2 small children at night. It was relatively close to 2 convenience stores so we could easily stock up on supplies. We booked the family room but I was a bit disappointed that whilst there was a separate tatami area meant for the kids there was no bedding to speak of. Even pillows or blankets. So they squeezed in with us in the beds. Otherwise the room itself was nice and compact but not too cramped due to the additional tatami area. The bath tub was a nice touch and well enjoyed by the kids. The breakfast spread was small but delicious. There was a games time in the evenings where there was sometimes popcorn or other snacks and drinks available. The staff were very helpful and friendly with sightseeing options and bus schedules despite their limited English. We felt very welcomed here.

One advice is to finish your shopping in the outlet before the sky turns dark. Reason is because there are no lighting (pitch dark) when we were walking along the street to the hotel. Especially the fluffy, soft and fragrant quilt made me sleep particularly peacefully as I often have trouble sleeping during travel. The only regret this time was that only my best friend and I stayed at the hotel. We were not able to experience the outdoor barbecue and missed the heavy snow in Karuizawa. I hope I can make up for it in the future.
