Palais Royale

good location walking distance to restaurants and supermarket. room is a bit old but clean. front desk staff is helpful. breakfast is very basic and not worth paying for extra.

good location, a few minutes from train station. feel peaceful and quite in the room as well as with blue mountain views. the manager is very nice and try to deal any problem and satisfied customer will come again for sure

Normally i would not say anything but this is next level greed and deceit. This is my first ever negative review, which says a lot. We had booked a twin bed room for a conference that we were attending, thinking we would spoil ourselves and stay somewhere upmarket. Little did we know. We were given a small room with children size beds and they had the audacity to charge us $350 a night for 4 nights. (see photo below) and a small bathroom. I was shocked and when I brought it up, the excuse was that they were booked out and its the same as other rooms. The descent thing would have been to give a discount rate for this room or make us aware of what we were getting. It's nothing like the photos they advertise. Our couple friends booked a suite which had 2 uneven beds pushed together and were uncomfortable to say the least. The towels had passed their used by date. The type of cheap towels you get at K-Mart for $4. The least they could do is use fabric softener. The windows rattled like crazy if there was any wind so if you are going to stay take some ear plugs. We would've been better off staying at the motel next door, at least we would've had a good night sleep and saved our money. Yes it's a beautiful heritage building but that is where it stops. To the owners of this establishment SHAME ON YOU!

Do not go to the Palais Royale if you want a Yulefest experience. We paid nearly $900 (couple) for a two night stay with Yulefest dinner. The accommodation was less than ideal with rattling windows, a running toilet, air con that only blew cold air on a 3degree day. Our room was not serviced and no clean towels provided or cleaning the bathroom. When we mentioned these problems there was no apology or reason given. On checking out we advised the toilet was still running and were told they would have to wait till Monday to get a plumber in, they never communicated this when we advised them on the first day of our stay. The Christmas in July dinner was definitely not as advertised. Soup was watery and tasteless, I doubt they used stock in the preperation. The main course was sliced deli meat for turkey and pork, the ham was the bacon we were served for breakfast. The Christmas Pudding was a supermarket individual pudding which had a bad taste as I don't think it was cooked as it should be. Everything was cold including soup, gravy, potatoes and veg. Nothing on the plate resembled the discription in the menu on the website. You would get much better food at the local RSL, a comment from another guest was "they got better food in hospital" Save yourself a lot of grief and just don't stay here.

We had hoped for a special wedding anniversary weekend with the luxury of this sort of hotel was offering including the Christmas in July dinner. The venue is lovely, close to the town centre, with plenty of on site parking. Our room was comfortable, the towels appeared to be grey & were thin, time to be replaced! We are really disappointed with the food and the quality of the service in the dining room, it was very amateurish at times. The poached eggs for breakfast were hard, the Christmas dinner ordinary and whilst happy to pay extra for the wine, (albeit with a very limited choice), we were asked to pay extra for tea or coffee at the end of the dinner! The music was a lovely treat. The only shining light was Michelle, she was warm & welcoming. We won’t be returning.

The bed was comfortable, air con great. There was a deep bathtub. Breakfast was good. Continental but better than most. The attendant Michelle was lovely. Its old building with great charm. Its close to town and all amenities. Close to the 3 sisters

Lovely well positioned hotel in an amazing area of the world, it sits right between the three sisters and the town centre. The woman on reception was very nice and welcoming! We had a good nights sleep and will certainly return if in the area again.

Wonderful break in the Blue Mountains. Enjoyed the charm of this beautiful heritage accomodation. Sipping wine on the front veranda or having a cuppa in the formal living room we felt like Royalty. Thanks to Dillon & Jeremy for getting us an accessible bathroom beautiful rooms and Michelle for her excellent attention to detail with the night customer service. The lady serving breakfast was super nice and even got us gluten free bread. If you want a special glamorous place full of old world charm to remember your visit to Katoomba the Palais Royale is your go to. Thanks team we will be back!
