This was the first time we had stayed at the Lodge @ Carus Green we weren't disappointed, the views for breakfast are amazing, room was clean with a large and comfortable bed and had everything we needed. The bathroom was very modern and spacious. The staff are friendly and attentive. Although we didn't have dinner here, we had breakfast on two days and it was great. It's just ashame that they don't serve evening meals on Wednesday and Thursday. But we still had a great stay.

Myself and my partner had our engagement party at Carus green golf club and what a night staff where amazing and where there to help if we needed anything. After the party we stayed in carus house and I must say it was 10 out of 10. I want to say thank you to Margarita who helped every step of the was and thanks to Shelly and Sarah for helping us organise the room and thanks to all the girls in the office

Terrible and shocking night. We booked lodge 6 for 3 nights as a treat whilst visiting family. All was fine when we first arrived. Not long after we went back to our room a group of golfers arrived making a huge amount of noise and banging doors clearly the worse for wear They then all congregated in the downstairs room/rooms and proceeded to treat it as a club house. The rooms were underneath us and the noise was extremely loud and boisterous. Some time later one or more came upstairs and one of the group started rattling on our door trying to get in. I looked at my watch it was 11.09 pm. Some time after that some of the group went out of the front door on our side of the lodge. Someone came banging upstairs and again rattled our door trying to get in. My husband shouted out to them as he had done on the first occasion . I was shaken up and I have to say frightened. All went quiet until at 12.30 midnight I heard another shout. I have to say I was anxious all night as to what might happen and could not sleep. The next morning we went to reception to report this and cancel our next two nights and asked for a refund for the two unused nights. A short while later we received a call from carus green saying the owner had spoken to the group of golfers who said that what we had reported did not happen and they went to bed at 10 pm and therefore we could not have a refund, the group were leaving anway but we could have an upgrade. However the group definitely did not go to bed at 10. Yes they were in their rooms but the noise was totally unacceptable and we noted the time of night that they twice tried to get into our room both being after 11 pm. We explained that we were not at all comfortable in staying there another night due to the lack of security and the fact we have now no trust in them if something were to happen again due to the fact they neither believe us about the noise nor take seriously the fact people tried twice to get into our room or how frightened I was. They reiterated they will not refund the two nights we have not taken let alone any refund towards the terrible night we had unless today they relet our room for tonight but it is not as if we spuriously wanted to cancel for no good reason. In addition when we booked we asked about the times for breakfast which we were told was 8 am to 11 30 am and we were asked if we therefore wanted to book. We said yes on that basis. In fact that had been changed to 9 am. On arrival we were also told that on the first morning there were only barms on offer as there was no chef on a Monday and on the Tuesday and Wednesday we couldn't have breakfast al all as they had two big events on. We have had now to book into a travel lodge in kendal for these next two nights so an extra expense and already it was a treat we had booked carus green in the first place.

It’s a lovely location, the rooms are small but nicely presented, comfy large bed and nice bathroom. Has everything you could need and the club house is welcoming, great food and service and just a few steps away from the front door. Unfortunately though it’s incredibly noisy, other guests are either just exceptionally loud or very selfish, screaming up and down the stairs, doors banging, running around constantly. Lovely setting but not at all relaxing and peaceful which is a shame.

The Lodge, Carrus Green Golf Club, Burneside Road, Kendal, Cumbria The lodge sits next to an 18-hole golf course. Guest rooms are well-appointed with an en-suite bathroom and are cosy and comfortable. They are not big but adequate and they have good views over the rolling countryside. Guests can use the lounge bar and restaurant at the golf cub and the free wi-fi works. Reviews for location - around eight miles by car from Windemere with lots of walks and cycle routes in the area - and cleanliness are good and the lodge also has a high ranking for value for money. The bed was comfy and the lodge was really warm, thankfully, as the temperature outside was Baltic. It is only a short walk over the car park to the modern golf club where meals are available. We opted out of dinner but the menu looked good and went for breakfast. It was a feast. Two eggs, two sausages and bacon, two hash browns, mushrooms and beans, a real ,plateful. Tea was extra but we were so full we did not eat again until dinner. We felt at home here. Sadly, the weather gods did not shine on us, horizontal rain and high winds for most of our stay, but this accommodation is well-worth looking at. We walked into Kendal via path and that took around 40 minutes. Thankfully, the rain relented on the way back, and Kendal is worth a visit. It has big name brand shops as well as local stores and a market and the golf course at Carrus Green looked inviting. Guests, we understand, receive a reduction in the green fee and there is a river nearby with permits available from the local pub, The Jolly Anglers, LA9 6QS

It's fine but they can be petty and very small minded. We paid £800 for our stay ( no issues there) but when one of our party asked for another round of toast for breakfast we were charged £2.65. I mean I ask you £2.65 !! we left £3.00 on the table, they obviously need every penny.

We stayed here for a couple of nights over Christmas. The room was lovely, huge bed, and huge walk in shower. It was nice and warm. But in the night, a bit too warm! It seemed the heating was on most of the night. Tried turning it down, but I don't think it did anything. It was room only. And if you wanted breakfast, you had to pre book in the restaurant, then pay separately in there. We had a light lunch in there, and the food was really good. Staff were very friendly. We booked breakfast on the first morning after arriving. We had a full English and a veggie English. Very good, and just the right portion size. The only thing I would say is the beans came in a separate pot, but we're cold. Not sure if they were supposed to be? There is a lounge bar, but we were told we couldn't have drinks in there, as it was for the golf members. So we weren't allowed to just get drinks, only if we were sitting in to eat. Bear in mind, this was 24/12 to 27/12 and we only saw two golfers. So unless you like tea, coffee or tepid water from the room, there was no other facilities for drinks. I would think if you were paying for a room, and spending money in the restaurant, we were allowed to use the other facilities. We wore masks in all indoor areas, but seemed it wasn't really a rule there. Some were, some weren't. The room wasn't cleaned etc, but we we're told this, and there were extra tea, coffee, milk sachets, and extra towels which was good. We stayed in the lodge room. There was someone in the opposite room, and another couple above us. They were so loud above, we didn't sleep much. We hoped it would just be that one time. Everything was quiet until about 11pm, when we were going to sleep, they would come in, banging up the stairs, slamming doors, and something heavy fell onto their floor with a crash. This went on for about an hour. Then someone would go out to the car, slamming the doors and back up the stairs. So we were pretty fed up. So it was a lovely place, just shame about not being permitted in the lounge bar, where we would probably have been in every night.

The room looked lovely (no 5), noisy from the bathroom because the window was by main road. Clean and comfy. Bathroom was great, big and very warm. Were there for 2 nights. The first one, we had in the same building a group of people, we assumed had the rest of the rooms + some next door building, that was up and down the stairs all evening and most of night, shouting, slamming doors being in/out. Cars coming in and out even at midnight. Not sure what they were ordering at that time of not. They also had bikes, so in the morning kept revving their engines for a long time right under the windows. We don't mind bikes, we're bikers too, but it was completely unnecessary. We've also had a few bites on our bodies, we thought a spider or something else and ignored it. Breakfast was ok. No continental. And also no dinners. Second evening was quiet, until 11pm when there were car doors sliding and big group coming out. Same sometimes later. It sounded like a men team of a sort or a stag group. It was worse than the night before. They also had all the rooms in the building and next door. They would leave their doors open and shout at each other or run up and down the stairs to the room on the bottom or next door building. It was like thunders. Terrible. We were extremely tired after a long drive from Isle of Skye the day before and the lack of sleep from previous night.Same in the morning when they kept going in groups to have breakfast. We gave up on breakfast and just left. We also had big red itchy spots all over our bodies that got worse and worse, even after a month we still had marks on our bodies. We assume fleabites. So although the room was lovely, would not stay there again.

This isn’t a hotel. We had one room with en-suite in one of the lodges and luckily there was no one in the room across from us because it’s only built to domestic standards and it could potentially be very noisy. Also it isn’t manned overnight and you do have to get there before the staff go home - around 6pm I think. Anyway this is all in the info I guess but it is easy to miss. So just be aware of what you are ‘renting’.
