Just returned from a week at the Kipriotis. Overall I enjoyed my stay but there are a few things that I think let the hotel down which doesn't make it a 5 star in my opinion. The food in the main restaurant, whilst plentiful with lots of choice, was never very hot - more luke warm and at times even cold which is such a shame as it let the whole hotel down. The Triton a la carte food was always served nice and hot. I requested an early breakfast for the following morning at 5 pm one afternoon but was told this wasn't possible as I hadn't asked early enough - not a 5 star service IMO as I was giving more than 12 hours notice! The sunbeds around the pool really need an upgrade. They are very basic and not very comfortable and again not what I'd expect from a 5 star hotel. The plastic disposable cups served at the pool bar are awful - they are terrible for the environment, not nice to drink out off and blow over when the wind gets up. I understand that it is not safe to have glass around the pool but reusable plastic glasses should be used. My room door key failed 4 times in the 7 days I was there - the reception staff kept telling me it was because it was being stored near my mobile phone eventhough I repeatedly told them it wasn't! Maybe the hotel should provide a wallet for them to be stored in so they don't constantly keep failing. Whilst my room was huge with a big balcony and kept spottlessly clean by housekeeping having no plugs near the dressing table was frustrating. Even one would have been appreciated. Reception staff aren't the friendliest and you have to ask lots of questions rather than them readily providing the information guests need - i.e. how to set the safe up.
