Hotel Riu Oliva Beach Resort - All Inclusive

Excellent value for money for all inclusive. Sure, it can be a little dated, but considering amneties and price this is great choice.

Great location, right on beach. Bus ride into town where markets and other beaches. Great value , healthy food , good entertainment. I highly recommend.

Positives: - location - RiuLand We stayed at this hotel for a couple of weeks and towards the end of our stay I could not wait to go home. We have been a loyal RIU clients for almost a decade but this hotel is very much below RIU standards and that was the biggest disappointment for us. We have been aware of the legal challenges the hotel faces and were not expecting newly renovated rooms however, this is not an excuse for maintaining basic hygiene standards. We had cockroaches in our bedroom and when this issue was reported we were provided with a spray but there was no apology or even consideration of moving us to any other rooms which obviously means the problem is much bigger than our bedroom and the management are fully aware of this. Their standard response seems to be that they cannot control it as they have quite extensive green areas in the resort- if that’s the case perhaps they can include this information on the hotel information page so people can decide if they want to stay in infested rooms while booking. Hotel reception staff is generally unhelpful except for Maria, who was great. Overall, you are ignored by hotel staff unless you are German or Spanish - if you ask for something they usually conveniently ‘don’t understand’ and just ignore you rather than even try to find someone that speaks English, which I find baffling given they actually work in the hotel environment. Food is very repetitive and there is no staff checking whether everything is out there so on many occasions you need to chase someone or wait by the kitchen door to ask for them to bring out what is missing. Also, be prepared to set up your own table as the waiters often can’t be bothered to set up one table more than once and will send you to another part of the restaurant. Food hygiene is very poor and we did suffer with stomach aches and issues throughout our stay. All inclusive drinks are good. RiuLand was good however TUI also has kids club which is only available to German children - this created a bit of disappointment for my daughter as she is too young to understand why she couldn’t join the ‘blue teachers’ especially that some activities were combined with RiuLand. Location of the hotel is superb with very short walk to the beach which is beautiful.

Reception staff were helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. The food was great with lots to choose from, the staff were really friendly. The hotel is beautiful in a stunning location although it could do with a little TLC. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you

Hotel is a little tired, some areas could do with a little updating but don't let this put you off. It's spotlessly clean. Staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The food is great, plenty of choice in the buffet restaurant and regularly topped up. We didn't try the other restaurants as buffet was so good. We've never seen more efficient waiting staff, they were superb. We stayed in the main hotel so can't comment on the apartment area. Plenty of sunbeds around the hotel grounds although the best spots get reserved quite early. The hotel is located adjacent to a beautiful public beach but do be aware that sunbeds on the beach have to be paid for. There are plenty of areas for smokers in the outdoor areas of the hotel and at the airport. The only negative for us was the weather. Its was incredibly windy for 5 of the 7 days that we were there and the red flag was flying on the beach, meaning the sea was deemed unsafe for swimming on 4 days. The wind made it quite chilly, which wasn't what we'd expected.

Location of hotel on an amazing lovely long beach that we enjoyed long walks on. Hotel was clean and the staff worked very hard. Negatives were the hotel is very tired and the food very repetitive. Lunch and dinner always had beef and chicken burgers, onions, fried fish, stir fried vegetables, boiled rice, canary potatoes, same pizzas.
