Hampton Inn & Suites Lavonia

Great place to stay.

Highway stop on my way to the Atlanta area. Room was clean and met my needs. My phone had died so I wasn't able to use digital checkin. Guest Services wasn't available for the first 5-10 min after my arrival. For a Sunday night at 8 or 8:30, that's understandable as the hotel was not busy and probably minimally staffed. No biggie. What was a big deal was the HVAC which was not super effective and was very loud. At one point in the middle of the night, I woke up thinking we were in the midst of a driving rain/wind storm but in reality, it was just how loud the HVAC was. I would stay again and just hope for a better HVAC experience. Easy access off of I85. I had picked up food in Anderson SC so cannot comment on local eateries.

The hotel was off I 85 yet was quiet with very little traffic in & out. My check in was uneventful. The room was not as clean as I have come to expect with Hampton Inn. There were little pieces of black debri on the floor. I later identified them as pieces of asphalt from the parking area. Obviously sticking to shoes. The trash cans in the public areas were overflowing. The shower door would not close completely & the toilet was very difficult to flush. I did not report these until I checked out. Even then I did not get the feeling that this would be a priority. The pool was cloudy and I only dangled my feet in it but it was slimy. The breakfast was as expected. However, it was not restocked in a timely manner. When I asked for yogurt I was told there would not be any until a delivery the next day. The lady was not friendly. I had the same experience when I reported that the coffee urns were empty. I would stay at his location again if I was in the area, however; I would hope for some improvements in housekeeping and maintenence. Also staff with that smile and helpful attitude that i have encountered at other Hampton Inns.

I stayed at this hotel twice in the past week while driving south and then north for family vacation. Last week, I informed the front desk that one of the queen beds smelled like urine. They verbally apologized. This morning, I had to call the front desk to ask for someone to see the mold around the base of the shower. The team member who was sent to inspect said the mold was "just in the caulk". No, it wasn't I don't care where it is. I don't want to see it. And it was a LOT. Hampton Inn is my preferred hotel to stay in and this one was not my favorite.

This was a nice hotel located just off I-85 interstate, in an area that looked and felt relatively safe, with several surrounding food establishments located nearby. If you are looking for something to do, and like shopping, there is an antiques mall just across the street. The hotel's hospitable staff made our stay as comfortable as possible and were perhaps among the nicest Hampton Inn employees we have ever encountered. The hotel looked and smelled clean. The pool area was nice, but sadly the water was not heated. There is a small business center area and a small workout room. There is a small store like area offering items that one could purchase if in general need. We did not take advantage of it, but it looked well stocked. Daily breakfast was good and standard for the Hampton Inn chain, offering a switch in the main menu items on a daily basis. Kudos to the breakfast attendants who were helpful, nice, and seemed to try very hard to keep everything adequately filled for the breakfast crowd. They did a great job! One breakfast attendant, (tall blonde lady whose name we did not catch) was extra friendly and helpful. Hot coffee, tea and hot chocolate are always available in the lobby. We do wish they offered flavored creamers for coffee, as other Hampton Inn's do, but sadly, they were not available. The room was clean, quiet, beds were fairly comfortable, and we all rested well. We did feel the hotel was a bit overpriced for the area, which might discourage some from choosing a stay here. We would return to this hotel, if in the area again, assuming the price did not climb even higher. We had a nice stay here.

This is in the foothills of north Georgia a bit off the beaten track. For us this location served as a good overnight stop. It met the standards of a good Hampton Inn. The room was quiet and the bed slept well. It was lower in cost than most recent HA stays. I found the staff to be friendly and able.

It was fine. There was nothing special about this hotel, but I will say EVERYTHING about the breakfast was awful. If we wer3 passing through again I don’t think we would stay here. The parking,it was fairly empty when we arrived (about 8p) but they had NO ROOMS on the first or second floor.

The hotel is average but I gave it two stars because of the following issues I encountered during my stay. The shower had no hot water and I made the front desk aware of the issue and no resolution was provided during my stay. Usually they would ask if you wanted to switch rooms but no resolution offered. The water from the sink was very hot if you wanted to use that in place of the shower. My last complaint is the strobe light in the bathroom. The bathroom light above the toilet flickered all the time. It was very annoying. Overall, the staff is friendly and the hotel is relatively clean. Also, there was plenty of parking if you are a Diamond member like myself.
