Microwave and utensils provided inside the room Cons: No telephone inside the room and have to go down to the reception. I have a good overall impression of the Mercure hotel chain. Near the Paris airport, there are a few hotels in Little Paris, but this one feels so-so, the rooms are small, the facilities are not surprising, and they are quite satisfactory. It happened to be the two hottest days in Paris. I couldn't stay at home, and it would be too hot without air-conditioning and electric fans. I just want to go to the hotel to avoid it for two days. I think I was deceived by the picture. Because I didn't think about taking pictures at the time, the pictures were taken by me on Google Maps to capture the real and appearance of the hotel. Although the hotel is located in the 17th arrondissement of Little Paris, between the 16th arrondissement and the La Defance business district, the traffic is really inconvenient. By car, if within ten minutes, I have to go around forty to fifty minutes by car. The hotel is an old-fashioned residential building in a residential area. It is difficult to find a parking space if you drive over. The bus and subway are in the convenient network of Little Paris. If you drag large bags and small suitcases, you really need to be patient. It is suitable for taxis to take a taxi to go, just for people who have a place to sleep. As a travel, there are more advantages than this. After that, I took the subway to see Mercure in the other direction from my home. The subway, the supermarket, the transportation and the surroundings are more convenient.

I came to Paris for the marathon and stayed for 2 nights at the hotel. It is in a nice quiet neighbourhood very close to the Metro (Anatole France) and still within easy walking distance of the Arc De Triumph which for me was perfect. The room was absolutely fine, basic but very clean. There was coffee and a descent shower, which I needed after the run! Staff were helpful and sorted me out with an adapter. Would stay here again as a base for sightseeing.

The front desk ladies were really lovely. They give us a little tour of the lobby and everyday would have free croissants or bread to take, as well as free coffee, water, soft drinks and champagne which was such a nice touch. Our room was a lot smaller and more cramped than we expected for a 4 star hotel. The cleaning service didn't empty our bathroom bin, give us new toilet paper or take the glasses we left at the front door for collection. The rooms were also quite loud from traffic and other guests. The breakfast was a bit disappointing in a small, quiet, dark room downstairs. The bacon and eggs were cold and often all gone when we got there, even with 2 hours left of breakfast service and took a while to be replenished. Overall the room and amenities was disappointing but the amazing customer service somewhat made up for it and made it a pleasant stay.

We spent 3 nights at the hotel and we think we had a mid experience. The hotel has a great location, it’s a couple metres away from the metro station and there are a wide range of shops and restaurants around. The room was clean upon arrival, the hotel has a terrace in the lobby and the breakfast choices are quite extensive for a dry breakfast. Perhaps we encountered some issues during our stay; upon arrival we only found a half use roll of toilet paper and that’s it. The rooms are small and dark, even though they offer 2 side lamps and a main lamp, you still struggle to see during the day unless you have your curtains open, which isn’t the best as you face directly other residents of the house in front. To not mention the shades of the lamps were broken. The pillows are very low quality, especially the decoration pillows that look like they broke and got sewed back together, on top of that they do not get washed after each customer, they just get thrown on the floor while the cleaner cleans the room and then puts it back on the bed for next guest! The room does not come with any sort of tea or coffee services, only 2 glasses on the desk that are sitting on a crinkled paper napkin! Clearly used for the previous guest. Also, they do not offer a cooked breakfast but only a dry breakfast, which i guess is understandable since the hotel does not have a restaurant. Furthermore, they have this weird policy where you need to leave your key at reception when you leave the hotel so that cleaners can clean it. We didn’t feel like doing so, as we had valuables in the room and there is no safe, so we opted for not getting our room cleaned. But realistically at the end of the day we only need to sleep in the room and the location was perfect for us to roam around all day and come back so tired that all this didn’t even matter.
