The hotel is very large, just like a four-star five-star hotel in the 90s, the furnishings are very old. There are many rooms, the bathroom in the room is small, there is hot water, the towels are very old, there is hair, and the towels are used. The breakfast buffet is very good, very spacious and there are many dishes. The hotel staff is very enthusiastic, it would be better if the hardware facilities could be improved a little bit.

The hotel is quite decent. Ok for couples and families. Near to the fast food like McDonald at Matarram Mall, convenient store and even Chatime (Korean fast food) just next to the hotel. Transportation (Grab) are easy to get around. I like that they are eco friendly....every level have a umber of water dispensers as such, no bottled water in the room. Good job!!!

The Matahari Inn is definitely long past its prime! It was probably once a very good hotel, but it was simply not maintained and urgently needs a complete renovation! The rooms are large and spacious, and the beds are also pleasantly large. However, you can see in the rooms that nothing has been renovated for a long time! Cracks in the tiles and the cleanliness is also rather below average! But this was still somewhat OK. BUT the bathrooms are an absolute disgrace and it is actually impossible to rent rooms with bathrooms like that! There were 3 couples of us, the same in all 3 rooms! All the fittings were rusty and corroded! In our bathroom the shower holder was broken, so the shower head always had to be held in our hand! There was no soap at the sink, no glasses for the toothbrushes, and there was only one bath towel, no extra towel! There was only one roll of toilet paper in the bathroom, no spare. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, but it is clear everywhere that the hotel management is absolutely inadequate! When the rooms are ”cleaned”, only the beds are made, the bathroom is not cleaned at all! At breakfast, the staff have to be repeatedly alerted when something is missing or finished! There were always enough service staff on hand, but no one checked independently whether everything was available. The cups and especially the saucers were also very old and not inviting to drink your coffee from! It is clear everywhere that the staff have not been trained and are not monitored or trained! The junior manager told us that the hotel had been empty for 7 years and you can tell! This hotel has so much potential as it is in an absolutely prime location, but as long as it is managed as it is currently, I can only say, never again!

My partner and I stayed at the Favehotel in Mataram close to a friend's house. Good hotel with very good breakfast. Very clean. Location suited us and we visited the Islamic centre close by. Coffee shop next door for the coffeeholics.

I very much warn AGAINST booking at this hotel and want to share my experience with Selong Selo on here to spare others the nightmare we experienced: This hotel essentially took our money and made it impossible to get a refund or rebooking. We had booked a stay at Selong Selo for 2020 - unfortunately Indonesia stopped tourism entries due to Covid and we were stuck discussing back and forth with the hotel, about what to do with our reservation. The first thing we realized was that communication with this hotel is extremely slow and difficult, since very single time someone new responded in what I would deem pretty bad English. Since 2020 we have sent countless emails (many left unanswered) and two years later are yet to get a refund or rebooking for our prepaid reservation of 1.500€. In this time Selong Selo staff has given us the hardest time I have ever experienced with any hotel during Covid: They set absurd deadlines for rebookings (essentially asking us to travel when there were no flights to Indonesia), downgraded the villa category we booked and then took days off our booking in case we rebooked. To be honest we don’t really see how we will get our money back and all this feels like a scam through and through. My verdict is this: Should something go wrong, you are stuck with this hotel and will lose your money. There are plenty of professional hotels in Lombok, so steer clear of Selong Selo!

Ths is an unbelievably perfect resort, discreetly positioned a short distance from the most scenic and atmospheric Selang Belanak beach. The choice of varied private villas are top notch, we stayed in the Joey villa, it was like a tropical show home with a great sundeck pool and jacuzzi. The 2 bedrooms were cool and with well appointed outdoor bathrooms. The restaurant, bar and secluded sports bar were brilliant and only surpassed with great menu, top chef and the whole of the team that services this resort. Friendly, professional and always smiling, from the garden team, kitchen, front of house and restaurant staff we only wished we could stay for longer or be in a position to invest in one of the units plots available. The owner, Michael was a top man, humble in his development but friendly, professional and most knowledgeable of the area and always willing to share a laugh or solve a question. A fellow Leeds United fan, albeit fro Sydney thank you to you and your brilliant staff, you have a great place that surely will only go from strength to strength. We just loved the Merumatta. It is a massive property fronting onto a beach. Rooms well appointed and lovely . Good location. 1 min to Poppies restaurant, bar hostel. 5 min walk to sport bar and other restaurants. Breakfast not to my liking unless you like eggs everyday or cereal. More local cuisine. Sunset bar beautiful for cocktails with a happy hour. And nice menu. Now beds 😴 Probably one of the worst beds I have ever slept on. To the point I had to get medication for my back.. Staff exceptional in helping with this. Thank you

One of the best hotel options that you can choose in Senggigi. The hotel is spacious and lovely, the hotel staff are super friendly and helpful, the check-in process also fast. The hotel has the amenities and facilities which you may need during your stay. The view is directly to the beach so it is very suitable for those who come to enjoy holidays alone, or with family or friends!

Took a 2 hr 20 mins direct Scoot flight from Singapore and then a 1.5 hr car ride to the resort. Booked a car directly from resort and driver was waiting outside after exiting the airport with resort name. We booked the family suite which was the premier suite and the premier room combined, it had a connecting door. Room was huge but no bathtub in either rooms. Separate shower and toilet. There’s also a outdoor shower but I think it’s only for the ground floor units. Comes with safe deposit, kettle and fridge. No ironing board. Their laundry is rather reasonable price. Beds were very comfortable and their air conditioning is cold. We had a few power shut downs but it was resumed very quickly in less than 20 secs. Nice beach but not suitable for swimming as the waves were huge. They have nice pools and sun decks. They have 2 restaurants serving Italian, western and Indonesia food. The Italian restaurant ‘Kliff’ is a must try. Superb food and quality at reasonable prices. Book a table to watch the sunset with Bali island in view. Beautiful sunset. The resort have a spa and gym as well. Tried the spa, prices were very reasonable and cheaper than Bali. Booked their snorkelling trips to the Gili islands and it was awesome! Gili Nanggu was our fav. Will definitely come again, Lombok is more laid back and without the Bali crowds. Things were cheaper too. If you want a nice, relaxing, quiet and good prices, come to Lombok. If you prefer pubs, shopping and crowds, then go to Bali. There’s also public ferries connection between Bali and Lombok. It takes approx 2 hours. Most of them understand simple English and remembers our preference for coffee and how we like our eggs done.
