I am a bit reluctant to praise our stay at Gardeners Cottage too highly, because it will make it more difficult to book in the future! Such a special experience, a beautifully restored old cottage tucked away in a rambunctious cottage garden. It brought back so many powerful childhood memories of visiting Tasmania in the 1960s - the hawthorn hedges, huge conifers, oak trees, sheep. But now I can also appreciate the historical significance of the World Heritage listed farm village. One of very few remaining from that time, when labour was cheap and each farm a village.
