Casa Del Mar

Santa Monica
A flawless experience from start to finish, Casa Del Mar made our experience wonderful. We could stay there forever! The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly and the AMEX Fine Hotels & Resorts benefits were superb, too. Our room looked out directly onto the beautiful beach & boardwalk, and the jacuzzi tub was an amazing added bonus! The outdoor pool & hot tub were amazing, and just perfect to watch the beautiful west-coast sunsets. We also enjoyed the bar and a nice breakfast overlooking the ocean in the morning, and the free bike rental service to bike to Venice Beach. The entire experience was brilliant, do not hesitate to stay at this amazing hotel and make sure you make time in your schedule to enjoy all the amenities on offer.
Pasadena Hotel & Pool

A naval ship type experience. Smallest hotel room I’ve been in since NYC. Reinforced staying on the right side of the law lest you end up in a place this small. The shower glass was a part of the actual room. We love historic hotels but I’ll pass on this one. The great downtown location you’d expect for a historic hotel, but not even a dresser in the room itself. No room! Nowhere to even put one piece of luggage in the closet! Only plastic cups in the room, no room to put a toothbrush on the bath vanity, no floor length mirror (we were attending an event), and the room lighting was poor. We are only here for two days, and we were claustrophobic the first hour. Even the hallway felt like being on a ship. Truly considered upgrading or changing hotels. Nice ambiance and charm downstairs. Parking situation was decent but expensive (as expected), $29 for self park. I think it might be a nice place for an event, but truly go get a hotel room built for modern size humans. Hotel staff gave little help with taxi service which I found baffling.
Palihouse West Hollywood

Ctrip information does not include breakfast, but the hotel actually includes breakfast. The breakfast content is not much, it stays the same every day and is relatively monotonous. The hotel offers valet parking and is quite expensive. There are many restaurants around the mall, and eating is very convenient. If you are willing to walk for 15 minutes, you can go to the farmer's market. Next to grove you can find better restaurants, movies and shopping. There is a wholefood across the road. The package is complete. The room is small, the lobby is also very simple. Restaurant restaurant is not bad, the night is a bar, the locals are mostly, very lively.
Huntley Santa Monica Beach

Santa Monica
The hotel is on the second street, just one block away from the main ocean view street. It is one block away from the 3rd street promenade end (the pedestrian commercial walk). All of this makes a very good location for touristic purposes. There are not many convenience stores around, but some within walking distance. The main restaurants and bars are a bit further, but also within walking distace. The hotel itself has very nice staff and very modern and nice decor. There are many signs of neglection here and there (minor details), nothing that affect the stay or the ambience per se, but for very detail oriented people, this might look weird. Other than that, the hotel is a very nice stay.

Although the hotel is a bit old, it is well maintained and clean. The toiletries are Diptyque, and the toilet paper is tied with a small ribbon~ The service is very good. When I arrived at the airport, I found that I forgot my passport at the hotel. They helped me find it very efficiently and I didn't miss the flight. They also specifically said that I didn't need to tip, which is what they should do. Disadvantages: The balcony is so small that I can't stretch my legs when sitting on the chair.
The Hollywood Roosevelt

Hollywood
My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights whilst in LA. The hotel is old Hollywood and one of the reasons we decided to book here was because my partner stayed over 10 years ago and loved it. We arrived from London after a 10hr flight early afternoon and got checked in very swiftly, this holiday was to celebrate my partners birthday and as such the front desk assistant gave us two vouchers to redeem in the lobby bar. After our first night we also had an envelope put under our door with two more vouchers for Tropicana Bar, we’re not sure why but we assumed it was because of a little loud music on the first night of our stay which didn’t disrupt us too much as we where both pretty tired anyway. On our second night we had drinks in the lobby bar which where very enjoyable and the atmosphere was great. The room here was a tad small but had everything you needed and was extremely clean. The area of the walk of fame isn’t necessarily the most desirable part of Hollywood but despite this we did enjoy our stay and would come back again in the future.
