Quality Inn & Suites Beachfront

The room wasn't that clean and I found a lot of mosquitoes in the room later it was like a stinky smell. There was a coffee maker machine and coffee bags containing inside mosquitoes and on the coffee bags so many mosquitoes were laying

No breakfast, no ice machine working, dirty room. Couldn’t have our patio door open as the screen didn’t work/slide. Bent and full of bugs. It’s unfortunate as this could be a nice place to stay.

Infested with spiders. Balcony view unusable, spiders everywhere. Spiders in the shower. Spiders behind the curtains. Checkout man gave lame excuse, they just come back. Clean the place up. Elevator filthy too. Great view ruined completely. Why 200 characters?

Stayed many time in mackinaw and this has to be worst hotel in the upper peninsula. I am a member of there rewards program and they did not even acknowledge it. Had to look for room because they didn't tell where it was. Once in room there was dead bugs all over the room. The sliding door to deck would not open without a struggle. We went to check pool and it had sand all in the bottom of it. It also had white slim pockets all over the water. So we decided not to even go into it. Told the manager about our concerns and told him we would not stay there. He said he would get us a room at the hotel next door to the sum of 255.00. Took our concerns to the choice hotel corp. and they didn't seem to care. After 3 phone call and about a hour a half we got have our points back.

Overall is was beautiful just need a little more updating especially with lighting in the bathroom n the room.

The view and access to the beachfront were very good, but the condition of the rooms (please note that I said rooms, plural, rather than a room, because the first room we were assigned was so nasty that we requested to be moved, at which time we went through 2 others that were available, and chose the better of them to stay in, but neither of them was ready to be occupied either! It was a terrible overall experience that really placed a dark cloud over what was otherwise a great vacation! Not something I would ever want to experience again! And for the amount that we were charged for the room, I can assure you that we will NEVER stay there again and hope that this review saves others from having such a costly and negative experience as well! I would like to add that when we do travel we prefer to stay at a Quality Inn and Suites property because of the high standards that the chain holds, and I am shocked that this particular property can carry the Quality Inn and Suites name, because it is nowhere close to those standards!!

We loved the location and we were able to bring our pet. We had a great view from our room and right on the lake. The price was great and the room was clean. The room was ok. Liked the in room hot tub. However, the building was definitely less than desirable. Our patio door was very old and stained and the screen door was off and blocking the opening out. There were holes underneath the building, not sure what’s living there. That said, it fit our needs and would stay again if needed.

Everything was great/ however/ the bed ******! Too hard, back hurts

We were excited to enjoy a beachfront view and the hot tub after a long drive. First, the hot tub was lukewarm at best, so we wouldn’t have enjoyed it. Then we decided to enjoy our balcony with a beautiful view and perfect weather, but we couldn’t, there were spiders everywhere, especially above our heads, hanging from the balcony roof (I counted a minimum of 5 at the door). We decided to just go get dinner and as we walked out the door to a yet to be lit up hall area, there were spiders above our heads there as well (obviously we missed them coming in). Though we didn’t get bitten, I personally found another spider in the room by the coffee pot with a nice web (obviously this room wasn’t well cleaned). The room just didn’t feel clean and was one of the worst places we have stayed. In hindsight, we realized we had stayed here 2 years before and remembered that spiders being an issue then too, but this year by far was so much worse. Never again. Twice burned. Some kind of pest control, inside and out.
