Would not recommend staying here. It was $300 a night and the room was not clean at all. The bathroom light fixture has a ton of dust that seams never to be cleaned. The bathtub had sand, the rooms balcony was left open when we arrived which probably explains the flies we keep dealing with in the room. While the location of the hotel is nice and convenient and the beach access is good, it is not a comfortable stay. Better to try one of the neighboring hotels. I was in room 224 from 8/31 to 9/2.

The rooms were clean but the mayflies were everywhere, certainly not the fault of the establishment but it did detract from the experience.

When I spend over $300 a night for a hotel room I'm going to have some high expectations. Comfort inn Lakeside failed miserably. But let's start with the good... Great view from our room, walking distance to everything, pretty okay beach, fireworks on Saturday night! Now the bad... I'm pretty sure I could still smell the cigarettes that were smoked in that room in the 80's. The carpeting was probably the original carpeting from when it was built, and it was gross. Nasty old wallpaper The stairwell going up to our 2nd floor room was dirty and dingy. Dead bugs everywhere. The siding around our small balcony had lots of spider webs with more dead bugs hanging in them. Breakfast was at a different hotel!? The whole place is in serious need of some updating! I still gave it 3 stars because I think what I described is pretty common for these tourist towns in northern Michigan.

First, Raquel at check-in was super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had a fridge but no microwave. Bed was comfy. Even though the rooms are non smoking, the a/c still pumps out a stale smoke odor. The Spectrum TV service locked up and rebooted itself twice (see pic). It's not our first experience with Spectrum in hotels so we waited out the rebooting process. Breakfast was horrific. They joined forces with hotel next door and combined the breakfast hours and location. It was only 2 hours and it was packed. Towards the end of the 2 hour mark they quit refilling the items. With that said, it was one of the less expensive hotels in the area.

Hotel is completely outdated, the price is extremely high for the quality of everything they offer. But my worst issue is the breakfast… they DO NOT offer any breakfast here, instead you will need to go to the next door hotel to have breakfast, only 2 hours to have breakfast (7-9am), and there is 2 hotels for that time frame. Once you get there there is 1 (ONE) employee, line is out of the door and everything is missing, it is the worst breakfast experience ever. Both days I was here is the same thing, the meat is ham that they bought a huge piece and slice in the back and throw in a hot nasty water. The room had bugs on ceiling the whole time. See pics DO NOT STAY HERE! You have been warned. If you don’t care for the breakfast at all, then this may be ok, but I wouldn’t recommend

This was our 2nd time here. We had to stay on the 1st floor though. Still the views were nice. Room was comfy as we did have a suite. Not a bad place to stay in town. However, I did not like going over to another hotel for breakfast. The food was awful and it was too crowded, no clean tables. Comfort needs to do their own breakfast like they did before. Loved the views for the fireworks. Need more chairs at beach though. Overall, would stay here again.
