even with a confirmed room and paid showing online, i got to the hotel and no room for me. When I gave the desk agent my confirmation number, she found it but told me somehow the reservation had dropped out of the system! the hotel was full. she asked me to take a seat so she could handle other guest requests and contact management. it had to be at least a half hour that I waited. I was given a room for one night only - agent said nothing available the next night. i said i was even willing to pay extra for another room category if that was the issue. she was sorry but that was all she could do - she did offer a preferred rate on the room i was given. this was 7 pm on a Friday night. Next morning I went to front desk to say I had found a place to stay 15 minutes away for Saturday. Different agent. I commented I never heard from a manager the night before. Manager then appeared from behind desk. Said she was covering and had been called last night about my situation. Said they had a room available for me but I was already packed and ready to go and could not cancel new reservation. She said her system showed my room had been canceled 5 minutes after it was made, But I said how could I then have an email confirmation (no email cancel btw) and their website showed active reservation even up to arrival. Go figure. But no apologies of any merit. Or sign customer care.

It was our first time staying at the Homestead resort in Midway and it won't be our last. The staff were very friendly and the room was beautiful and comfortable (Luxury King Suite). The grounds were beautiful as was the scenery and area. We definitely recommend staying here. And if you're looking for some good food, try the 1889. The nachos with burnt ends was very good!

Terrible experience with no closet in room and the. Had to beg for hangers which I finally got and the n used them to ha g my clothing pieces around the room. Also, no chair in room. If I wanted to sit I had to sit on the bed. Poor customer focus. They are depending on the beauty of the are and the new renovations to carry customer experience.

We booked this for our 20 year anniversary. We wanted a quiet mountain getaway, and when we showed up there was a wedding being held there. The music was unbelievably loud. Felt more like Vegas than the woods. As we were checking in the front desk told us the AC was out from a lightening strike a week before. And the ice machines weren’t working so they were handing out small bags of ice. Not starting off great. We went to our room and it was two queen beds (I had reserved a king with a private patio). We went back to the front desk, showed them our reservation and they said they didn’t have anymore rooms available. Asked if there was a manager to help because the girls at the front desk were overwhelmed and they said he had gone home for the night. With as much chaos that was happening at the hotel you’d think they’d have more help. Obviously when you book a specific room you’re expecting that when you show up. As we were talking to them, they were looking stuff up on the computer and said “this room with a king may be available” she said she’d go over and look at it. She did and when she got back she said we could have that room. The instant we walked In We could tell it hadn’t been cleaned. The furniture wasn’t put back, and you could see handprints all over the mirror. The bed was made though. We looked in the bathroom and it definitely had not been cleaned. Toothpaste and soap in the sink, toilet not cleaned, the shower had hair and little rubber bands in it, etc. Also the rooms were beyond hot….not even a fan would help that. These rooms are really expensive and the experience they provide is not worth the cost. It wasn’t worth spending $730 for a couple nights with no air, and loud music blasting. They did give us our money back, and we ended up going back to our home that has AC, ice, a king bed, and is quiet! The next morning we called to talk to the manager Jose about our experience and that made us so mad. He didn’t care, was so rude, never apologized, and said “I have a lobby full of people here that I have to help so I have to go” Disappointed we didn’t get to experience the pool. With proper management this place could be amazing! Midway is gorgeous and one of my favorite places to be. Unfortunately we won’t be staying at this hotel again.

The Homestead is a beautiful place but our experience while staying there was not beautiful. In general, it felt that staffing was low and not well trained. The front desk could not even answer basic questions and the coffee house (Milk House) was terribly understaffed and disorganized. Our TV didn't work during our entire stay and we reported it to front desk multiple times and it was never looked at. Disappointed

Our family has returned to Homestead almost every summer. We had many different kinds of accommodations . Most memorable and best liked is Hawks Nest Unfortunately throughout the years and especially after Covid there’s a lot missing from what it used to be , probably due to employee shortages. We always felt very comfortable and welcomed. Last time my husband and I just walked in without reservations and were able to get a room in Little Bell . It was very comfortable, although it is time to remove the big whirlpool tub in the room and perhaps install a double vanity or a more spacious shower. Altogether it is a beautiful place to make memories with your family and make new friends by the nightly bonfire.

My wife and I came to the Homestead for our 28th Anniversary. The newly refurbished rooms and pool are very nice. The terrain is beautiful with trees, green grass, and the nearby golf course. Mel attended us at the front desk- she was very personable and when she found out we were staying for our anniversary she surprised us with some treats in the room- the gesture was very meaningful to us! We don’t drink alcohol so she gave us grape juice instead of wine. We will be coming back and recommend this venue to anyone!!
