Comfortable, cosy, clean and well presented room with amazing sea view including Isle of Wight and the needles. Literally a short stroll to the beach. It was just as shown on their website, with immaculately clean bathroom (great toiletries!) and compact but beautifully presented and comfortable bedroom. We appreciated the remarkably wide choice of free teas and coffee in the room and the bottled water at the bedside. Shower was hot and powerful! Staff were friendly and helpful, prompt and courteous. Breakfast was MUCH better than we had anticipated with juices, cereals, fresh fruit, pastries and a tempting and tasty choice of cooked dishes. We have been lucky to stay in some expensive luxury hotels, and would return here in a trice.

We have just returned from two days on the beach with a stay at The Beach House in between to capitalise on the unexpected good weather at the end of the school holidays. This hotel can be booked with Tesco points (hurrah!) and therefore it feels even better when you haven’t paid! The room we stayed in (25 - the Loft room) is amazing. Our girls loved following the receptionist’s instructions up two flights of stairs and through a door that looks like a bookshelf…and inside, two bedrooms side by side that were decorated beautifully with a large bathroom - what a treat. The breakfast was good and sitting out on the terrace with a coffee in the morning with a sea view was a perfect way to finish the holidays. Fantastic!

We used to stay here frequently and enjoyed the beautiful building, good staff and keenly priced good food. The price of a stay and the food have risen exponentially since the pandemic so we now use Airbnbs when we visit the area. On a visit this week we had supper in the garden, it was a lovely warm evening and it is a beautiful spot. Sadly the food continues to be disappointing, and expensive, and a rat ran across the patio which was a little off putting. We live in a rural area so are familiar with the need for rodent control, the waiting staff were clearly not.

We’d walked past several times and the outdoor terrace looked very good .! We had been walking all day and felt like we deserved a treat, stopped off to order food and enjoy a couple of drinks in the early evening sunshine . Actually only had a drink in the end. The furniture was very grubby, tables weren’t cleared, very dirty tables outside and all the condiments and menus were really grubby. The two members of staff outside were bickering and moaning about the work that they had to do to clear the tables and when we asked for ours to be cleaned we were given such a rude response from a really surly waitress that we decided we would drink up and leave. Observations of the waiting staff was also not only a bad attitude; from the waitress who attended our table ; but also of grubby clothes and scruffy appearance, consequently we were really put off by everything the two servers were doing, so we drank our very expensive drinks, and decided we would not place a food order, they didn’t deserve our custom. We also witnessed the manner in which they delivered food to other customers and quite frankly the service in this place on that evening was very very poor.

We stayed at the Beach House for two nights with our 7-year-old daughter. We were warmly welcomed and felt instantely at home in our "bookshelf", which was a beautiful and very spacious room nestled in a corner on the top floor. The room as well as the bathroom was not only very spacious, but very clean and tastefully furnished. Breakfast was not spectacular, but sufficient, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. They pay particular attention to food allergies and ask with every order whether there are any special intolerances. Dinner was really good and we very much enjoyed the beautiful dining room with a view. The location is excellent, right next to the sea and with a pretty backyard. Parking space is available right in front of the hotel.

A beautiful late Victorian building with stained glass by Oscar Paterson of Glasgow. Rooms were superb with seaside themed decor and comfortable beds . The ensuite was large and spotless. Staff were friendly and helpful. No lift. The menu changed with specials which was good as we stayed 3 nights. Views to the Needles were great and the location is perfect . Convenient for ferry to Isle of Wight . We would definitely return.

We visited the Beach House as part of a large group for a function. Sadly, our experience was poor. Although the food that arrived was ok, half of the order was missing and the request for two Gluten free diets was totally inadequate as only two small sandwiches ( to share!) arrived with some chips. Sadly, these were discovered to not even be gluten free, as it made people quite poorly. There were no extra staff on for the night which resulted in long waits for drinks and frustration for other diners in the restaurant that night. The staff were clearly overworked & stressed. Lovely building to visit but not recommended for meals/functions until these issues are addressed.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Beach House. Food was great and the service was great. The waitress whose name I didn't catch (had a ring through her nose :-)) went above and beyond in keeping us happy and in finding us a great room in which to relax after our meal. All in all a great day out at a lovely venue. A new find for us but we will definitely be back.

It was loveliest, better than the pictures. Our room was very cozy with an incredibly comfortable bed and fluffy pillows ( even though you can ask for any type of pillow you prefer) The staff was warm and kind. We only stayed one night but we had a great experience and we highly recommend it. We did not have to wrry about anything.
