Our stay at Castello di Velona was an extraordinary experience. The hotel's setting is absolutely breathtaking, with the historic castle offering stunning views over the rolling hills and vineyards of the Val d'Orcia. The ambiance is both tranquil and luxurious, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. One of the highlights of our visit was the incredible breakfast served each morning. Enjoying breakfast on the terrace while taking in the panoramic views was an unforgettable experience. The service at the hotel was outstanding. The staff were attentive and professional, always eager to help and ensure that every aspect of our stay was perfect. Capanna suites is a stunning, luxury property, situated in tranquil surroundings. By far, this was our favourite hotel during our trip of Tuscany. The hotel facilities (including stunning pool) and our room were fantastic, but it was the staff that made the experience for us. Every member of staff was full of personality, loved what they were doing and honestly couldn’t do enough for you, during our stay. We enjoyed our complementary Capanna wine tasting on the first evening, led by Antonio. We enjoyed learning about and sampling the wines from the hotels very own vineyard and found the local wines very competitively priced on the restaurant wine list. We are in the restaurant on each of our three nights and loved every meal. The restaurant overlooks stunning scenery; there is nothing else quite like it, watching the sun set whilst eating your meal! Definitely one our favourite hotels - we can’t wait to be back!

A superb 11th-century castle hotel with unparalleled views of the Tuscan mountains from both swimming pools. Moreover, the bath salts used in the swimming pool have no chlorine smell at all. The room is exquisitely decorated and has a balcony where you can enjoy the sun and eat snacks outdoors😘

Wow! Where do we begin... This was our 3rd time staying in Montalcino, but only our first time staying at Dimore della Muse, and we are so happy that we did. We wish that we discovered Dimore della Muse sooner. Not only was this our best stay ever in Montalcino, this was our favorite hotel/B&B that we have ever stood at anywhere in the world.  From the moment we booked our reservation online, we knew that we had made the right decision. After booking our reservation, Sara and Michele, the husband and wife team who own Dimore delle Muse emailed us almost immediately to confirm our booking, thank us for choosing to stay here, and provided an extensive list of things to do and see in the area while visiting Montalcino. This was not your typical automated booking confirmation email that most hotels send out. This was highly personalized, and was most definitely not an automated email. The suggestions were not your typical suggestions that you would find in a brochure or by doing a quick Google search online, they were a well thought out, personalized and diverse list of activities that offered something for everyone. It included restaurants, wineries, beautiful towns to visit and sites to see, some of which are very close by and some of which made for a beautiful short road trip about 45 minutes away. All of their recommendations were outstanding, well thought out, and carefully curated based on their personal experiences. These suggestions kept us more than occupied and very happy throughout our stay there. We are so grateful and appreciative that they provided us with this, and we had not even arrived in Montalcino yet! :) Once we arrived in Sant'Angelo in Colle, we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes, as if we were friends who had not seen each other in a long time, despite the fact this was our first time meeting. Our bags were extremely heavy, and we had several of them as we were traveling from Piemonte prior and had packed a fair share of wine to bring back home to NY with us. Despite the quantity of bags and their weight, Michele insisted on carrying our bags inside and simply would not take no for an answer. This was far too generous, especially considering there were a good amount of steps that they had to be carried up.  After unloading our bags, Sara and Michele gave us a tour of their beautiful hotel. The hotel opened around 4 years ago, and was completely renovated at that time. The renovations are absolutely gorgeous. They retained the building's beautiful identity inside and out, tastefully applied some modern touches, and created what we believe to be a magnificent, gorgeous retreat in the beautiful little town of Sant'Angelo in Colle. After entering the building you will notice a beautiful courtyard which we've attached photos of. This is where we enjoyed breakfast every day. Hotel dei Capitani is situated on the edge of Montalcino (only a 5 min walk from the centre) with spectacular views of the valley below. Rooms are quite small but provide wonderful views, a comfy bed and a well equipped bathroom. A good selection of cereals, pastries, etc were provided for breakfast on the terrace overlooking miles of Brunello vineyards below. There are some excellent restaurants in Montalcino so we didn't have dinner in the restaurant.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights recently and had a great time. The rooms were clean yet rustic and ours had an outdoor terrace with a private seating area. Breakfast was supurb with a great selection and exceptional service. Unfortunately, the restaurant was advised to be closed permanently, which is a shame. The lounge was great and we did enjoy some post dinner wine outside under the stars. Service was exceptional. The sound at night is very tranquil with only the odd car going down the road in front of the hotel. The views from the hotel into the valley are exceptional during the daytime. This hotel does need a car though as the closest places to go for dinner are in Montalcino. While not more than a 5 min drive, it would be a lengthy walk with some steep elevations. Parking in Montalcino was easy so long as you don’t mind a short walk. Majority of public parking is outside of the city walls. I would highly recommend this cute boutique hotel. Great value, great service, and an overall great experience.
