Arrived at 10 pm. I walked in alone, husband stayed in car, walking in with luggage after I checked in. We had been in the room 30 minutes and already going to sleep when the front desk person knocked on the door as he opened the lock. We had the privacy lock so he couldn’t open it. I screamed and called the front desk, he apologized and said he would refund one night, which he did. Next morning new clerk was extremely rude demanding my “method of payment”said we would have to leave the hotel if I didn’t show her the card.. I had paid through Priceline. She didn’t want to see the receipt, just my card. I showed her my Chase Visa (unfortunately I didn’t have the Amex card with me that I used for the Priceline reservation) and she charged me again for the room…. Later I called Chase and sent them the Priceline. receipt, Chase REFUSED to refund me. Hilton refused to refund also. I then told Hilton I would put the story on TripAdvisor if they didn’t refund me and they finally gave me a refund….. some time later my AMEX card offered me Hilton member gold (or whatever it’s called) status. Hilton REJECTED my request. The incident in the room gave me PTSD. I could have sued but did not. I will never stay in a Garden Inn again and avoid Hilton Hotels as much as possible,
