The hotel boasts a great environment with simple yet elegant decor. The rooms are spacious and bright, and the facilities are complete and well-maintained. Cleanliness is satisfactory, the staff are friendly, and the hotel offers excellent value for money. It's suitable for both business and leisure travel, and highly recommended.

The place is beautiful and owner couple were super helpful! Location was perfect to go anywhere in the Watertown and not too far from the entrance to the Great Wall. Also super near to the square where the drone show is at. Breakfast was great, often being served with local treats for us to try. We stayed with 2 teens, 1 child and 2 adults. My children were upset that we didn’t stay any linger there. If we would to be back, it’s definitely where we’ll be staying! Highly recommended!

Oh my god we loved our stay here! The host Chen Jiancheg is so so so kind and helpful. Always smiling! You reall feel welcomed! The family room was very big and conveniently layed out! The breakfast is a feast and so good! Kids were able to feed the ducks and enjoyed their time here so much! The view from the room was amazing night time and day time! The location is so convenient as it’s is few meters from the main plaza where the shows are happening!

On the morning of our check-in, the hotel called to inform us that due to the typhoon, they were being used as a temporary shelter, so our booking was moved to a Deluxe Family Room at Gubei Zhiguang. The room at Gubei Zhiguang was a bit smaller and the facilities felt a bit dated, but the breakfast was good, which somewhat made up for it. What I found unacceptable was the 25 CNY charge for the hotel parking. Of course, this isn't the hotel's fault, but rather an issue with the overall scenic area management. By the way, a shoutout to the Chinese restaurant opposite Gubei Zhiguang – it was excellent.

1. The friendly service attitude of the hotel staff was the first thing I appreciated most. 2. The architectural style of the hotel's courtyard (siheyuan) was a highlight I had to discover myself, rather than it being prominently advertised by the hotel. This was a bit of a shame, but I truly loved the traditional Beijing siheyuan feel. 3. The hotel is located in the most secluded corner of the Water Town area, offering a quiet and serene environment, which I really liked. 4. Although the hotel is quite a distance from the park entrance and the bustling Sun and Moon Island, the electric shuttle service provided by the park is excellent. This made it very convenient to return to the hotel to rest or to depart from the hotel to explore various scenic spots. 5. The breakfast was simple but offered a good variety, including vegetables and meat, both Chinese and Western options, three types of fruit, and American coffee from a bean-to-cup machine. Food items were replenished continuously, and the dining environment was comfortable and cozy. 6. The hotel is situated right next to the entrance of Simatai Great Wall, the park's main attraction, making it very convenient to return to the hotel after an evening tour. 7. It would be even better if hotel guests received more discounts for visiting attractions or dining at restaurants, especially if there were greater specials for dining at the hotel itself. This would definitely encourage more in-house guests to dine there. 8. A special thank you to the lady at the front desk for her incredibly thoughtful and detailed service on our check-out day. She helped us with our luggage and arranged for the shuttle to take us to the first parking lot. My wife and I were very touched by her warm service.

I visited during the Dragon Boat Festival. Even though it was Saturday and very crowded outside the hotel, it was incredibly quiet inside. The room was super comfortable and peaceful. It felt like two different worlds inside and outside the hotel. The floor-to-ceiling windows were fantastic, and the hotel's service was very attentive. The breakfast was delicious too. I especially loved Xiao Xing; she was so thoughtful in explaining the hotel's culture, and her service was excellent. They even gave us a few zongzi for the Dragon Boat Festival, which was a lovely touch. I'll definitely come back!

The hotel boasts an elegant environment, making you feel like you have an entire mountain to yourself. Built into the hillside, the two-bedroom suite we booked this time was located mid-mountain. The hotel community has complete facilities, and the main entrance is fenced off with a gate, so the security is reassuring and makes you feel very safe. The shuttle service uses Voyah commercial vans, which are super comfortable! The staff helped with our luggage, which was very thoughtful and attentive. It's about 10 kilometers from Badaling Great Wall, and Shuiguan Great Wall is nearby and not crowded. Juyongguan Great Wall is also conveniently located on the way to Beijing South Station, so we stopped by, making our trip even more rich and fulfilling.

Although the receptionist speaks little English, they are very warm and welcoming. Ready to serve and proactive especially the lady by the name of 姜叶. She has been communicating with me to ensure that I have no problem with my check-in. Mutianyu Great Wall Hotel (MGWH) is located in Mutianyu Scenic Area thus required to submit our vehicle number prior to entering the area. MGWH is stone away from the cable car /chair lift entrance. It's quiet and serene in the night especially when all the tourists leave after visiting Mutianyu Great Wall. The hotel was so considerate when I informed them that I have 2 elderly traveling on this trip. They upgraded us to a family room as there are lesser steps and stairs for the elderly. The rooms are big and the shower's pressure is good. The breakfast is a simple Chinese selection such as porridge, wontons , bao, fried rice, vegetables, pickles. They do have salad, bread, eggs and baked beans. The hotel also provides unlimited entrance to Mutianyu Great Wall. A RMB20 off each of the round trip cable tickets. No special discount for the lift chairs or Toboggan's ride. Each way @ RMB100 for a single trip up the Great Wall. You can get a round trip at RMB140 for a combined ticket of lift chair + Toboggan. The Toboggan ride is fun and exciting but the downside was that people over 60yo are strictly not allowed to take the ride. CON - there's nothing to do in the night in MGWH., very good to relax after a day up at the Great Wall. Eating is also limited - the hotel restaurant (closed at 8pm), I think depends on the season. Depending on where your room is, the hotel restaurant may be inconvenient especially for our elderly that need to climb the stairs to reach the restaurant. and a nearby restaurant that closes at 630pm. The owner was very nice and agreed to serve us even when we were there after 6pm. she called the chef to request him to stay back for us. Food quality is reasonable.

1. **Check-in:** The check-in process was inefficient. They strictly enforce the 2 PM check-in time, and there was a very long line with only two front desk staff members. It got even slower when foreign guests were checking in. It wasn't even that crowded during the National Day holiday. 2. **Room:** The room was very spacious. We booked a mountain-view room, and since we had kids, we had to push the beds together. Due to the bed design, there was a huge gap at the headboard, so next time we'll have to request bed guards. The glass was quite old, and the buttons in the room weren't very responsive. With two children, we were missing children's toiletries, slippers, and bathrobes, which had to be sent up separately. Shower gel and other amenities were only available in specific kids' rooms. It would be better if they provided slippers for the hot spring area next time; the disposable ones were quite slippery. 3. **Hotel Activities:** During the National Day holiday, there were activities every morning and afternoon, which the kids really enjoyed. Some required an extra charge. I'd recommend registering for the activities when you actually participate to get the discount (I used up my registration slot early by using the link over Wi-Fi the day before, which used up my mobile data). 4. **Water Park:** The room indicated complimentary tickets for two adults and one child. 'Child' means under 120cm, which is already free, so the hotel giving another 'complimentary' ticket felt a bit redundant. There are three pools in total. The largest one had a suitable water temperature, but the two smaller pools were cold. There were children running and playing wildly on the slides, and I suggest staff supervise and remind them to be careful. There are many outdoor hot springs, but one bubble pool was super cold, and the bubbles were covered in dirty mud, with no one cleaning it. There was also a lack of information about the outdoor hot springs; you had to walk to each one to find out the temperature and what kind of spring it was. There was no conditioner in the showers, so I recommend bringing your own. 5. **Kids' Club:** It was quite small, and the provided socks weren't non-slip. The kids played for a bit and then got bored. 6. **Hotel Breakfast:** The wontons were nowhere to be found... but all the bread was delicious! A hot bowl of noodles chased away the autumn chill. The corn porridge was mislabeled as millet porridge. Overall, there wasn't a huge variety of dishes, for example, only two types of cold dishes and two types of fruit. 7. **Service:** Feedback was addressed and handled promptly. The service was super satisfying!

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic! You can reach the foot of the Great Wall in just two minutes. The room was super clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. My in-laws, who were traveling with me, loved just relaxing in the armchair by the window, breathing in the fresh air, so much so that they said there was no need to even climb the Great Wall – just staying at the hotel was a treat in itself. There's also an adorable tabby cat at the hotel that loves getting belly rubs. Dining was convenient too; Yanxi Fishing Village is right in the courtyard, and the food portions were generous. After we came back from the Great Wall, we rested at the hotel, and the staff even thoughtfully brought us afternoon tea. It was such a warm gesture and really helped to wash away the fatigue from climbing the Wall. The scenery at Mutianyu is just beautiful! We'll definitely be back, and when we return, we'll stay here again and come to pet your cat once more!
