Facilities: The facilities are comprehensive, with a fridge, smart toilet, smart speaker, and electric curtains in the room. The hotel also has a laundry room and a gym. However, there's only one elevator, so expect a wait during peak hours. The room has a balcony, but the soundproofing could be improved. Hygiene: Up to standard, no obvious flaws, but there's room for improvement. Environment: Located on a corner at a crossroads, with supermarkets and restaurants nearby. The subway station is right downstairs, and Changying Tianjie shopping mall is just across the street. Very convenient. However, the window faces an office building, which is quite close. Service: Excellent. Quick response and a great attitude. They even upgraded my room proactively. The breakfast was also very good, with a wide variety of options.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. The courtyard house is beautifully renovated and very modern internally. The breakfast is delicious and different varieties daily. I am impressed with the clean spacious room. The very helpful reception staff that is always smiling and ready to help. The sturdy umbrella provided when it's raining outside. The complementary photo sessions. The proximity to major attractions sites and walking distance to food and convenience store. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Beijing.

This hotel is a hidden gem! Its location is fantastic, right at Exit A of Xinshikou Station on Line 5, making it super convenient to get anywhere. The hotel service was also excellent; they even upgraded our room for free, and the room itself was quite spacious. We had a great two-day stay and highly recommend it.

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. We were there for 4 nights. We were 5 people sharing a family room. Room was fine. Service excellent. Breakfast very good. You just order what you want the day before breakfast. We also had afternoon tea which was splendid. The staff washed our clothes for free. Brilliant service. The interior of the hotel is very picturesque. The hotel is situated some 300 meters from an exciting area with lots of restaurants and lively streets. They also arranged a taxi for our three adult children when they left for the airport in the middle of the night. We really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel itself is clean, stylish, and has a nice overall design. Unfortunately, the service and our actual experience during the stay were extremely disappointing, especially considering how expensive this hotel is compared with other hotels in the area. The biggest issue was the room we were given. The room advertised on the booking platform showed two large windows, and this was one of the main reasons we specifically chose this hotel. We wanted the room shown in the listing because we wanted the panoramic view and the two large windows. However, when we arrived, we were given a different room that did not match the room shown in the listing. Nobody informed us that we were being given a different room or explained why. Because we were tired when we arrived, we did not immediately notice the difference. By the time we realized that the room did not look like the one we had booked, we had already unpacked and used the room. We then contacted the hotel about the issue, including trying to reach them by email, but nothing was resolved during our stay. We were never provided with the room that was actually advertised in the listing, nor was the situation properly resolved or explained to us. This is especially disappointing because the room and its two large windows were an important part of the reason we chose and paid for this hotel. The check-in experience was also very poor. When we arrived, there was no real welcome or communication from the staff. They spent around 5 minutes talking among themselves while trying to figure out our booking, and then had difficulty processing our passports. The entire check-in process took roughly 15 minutes, during which nobody actually explained what was happening or communicated with us. I eventually had to interrupt their conversation and ask what was going on because I wanted to help get the process moving. Later that evening, we had another issue with a delivery. The delivery driver contacted us to say it had been delivered, but around 11 minutes passed with no notification or call from the hotel. We had no idea what was happening and had to contact the reception ourselves. I speak Chinese, so this was not a language-barrier issue. When I called, I was told that there were too many deliveries at the hotel and that we simply needed to wait. There was no apology or acknowledgment that we had been left waiting without any information. I explained that the delivery was a cake and that I was concerned it would melt if we had to wait much longer. Only then did the staff take action. Even though the delivery was eventually brought to us, the overall handling of the situation was not what we would expect from a hotel at this price level.

The room isn't huge, but the bed is big enough for two adults and a small child. All the lights can be controlled from the bedside, so no more getting out of bed to switch them on or off. There's a nightlight, and the bathroom light is automatic – it turns on as soon as you step in. The sink is just the right size to use as a baby bath. The air conditioning cools down the room really quickly. There's also a mini-fridge in the room stocked with mineral water and sparkling drinks, which are replenished daily. The elevator requires a key card to automatically take you to your floor, and the hotel even has a few delivery robots that use the elevator by themselves. Breakfast is extensive, with fried rice, fried noodles/vermicelli, and four hot dishes every day, two types of congee, four steamers with items like buns, corn, and sweet potatoes, tofu pudding, fried dough sticks, noodle soup, wontons, various pickles, salad, and more. There's also a Western section with bread and other items I didn't pay much attention to.

A friend who was accompanying my daughter to take an exam recommended this hotel to me. I felt very comfortable when I opened the door. I booked an executive double room. The room was large and clean. Both the front desk and the cleaning lady were very enthusiastic and helpful. There was unlimited drinking water in the room. The service was very thoughtful. Next time I have the chance to come to Beijing, this will be my first choice!

Amazing! We spent five nights staying in a deluxe king room with terrace/balcony at The Purple Horse Hotel in Beijing at the end of June 2026.. The location is excellent. The hotel is situated in the heart of a Hutong which offers a calm quiet and serene experience in the middle of a bustling city, only a short walk to restaurants and shops. The Hutong itself is a great experience, it's safe and friendly and we enjoyed chatting to the locals at the corner shop. The hotel is absolutely wonderful. It's less than two years old and It is finished to a really high standard, the attention to detail is incredible. It felt luxurious with the highest quality furnishings and the bathroom and shower were like something you would find in a spa. Our room had great views over the Hutong and the Beijing skyline and had excellent air conditioning. We had a buffet breakfast and a buffet dinner included and it was delicious and served in a beautiful restaurant on the top floor. Above that there was an amazing rooftop terrace with an outdoor swimming pool, a cocktail bar and 360⁰ views of the city. There is also a Peking duck restaurant on the ground floor, a gym and a self service complimentary laundry room. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. The level of service and the attentiveness of the staff is at a level that we have never experienced before. The staff are super friendly and polite and they are always trying to help. Our room was cleaned to an immaculate level every day and we were often left little gifts and kind notes. The service in the restaurant was great and once again always really kind and friendly, special mention to Nieve for looking after us so well. Anything we needed, any questions we had, the staff really went out of their way to help us and did so with big smiles on their faces and we had fun times in our interactions with them. Everyone had a good level of English, especially the front for house staff and management . If you want a comfortable, clean, modern hotel with great facilities, in a great, safe location and would like staff that will advise and help you and direct you and even organise trips and transport for you, then this is the hotel for you. We would like to thank some of the staff that really went out of their way to help us. Ella and Anduo who organised a print shop for us and helped us find some specific gift shops. Nieve for making us smile everyday in the restaurant. The housekeeping team for making our room so clean, comfortable and amazing every day. Terry the manager for being a really nice guy, for taking the time to talk to us and ask us if we needed anything everyday. And Kevin for making us some really nice tea and helping us with everything when we were checking out. We have stayed in hotels all over the world but this one will always stand out for being that little bit different, for being so immaculate and for going the extra mile. This Manxin Hotel is in an excellent location, making it very convenient for visiting the Forbidden City, the National Museum, and Tiananmen Square when touring Beijing. There are also plenty of dining options nearby. The room size was just right, and the facilities were quite new, with a super large and bright TV screen – though we didn't watch it much as we were busy sightseeing. The highlight was the excellent service. When we first checked in, we felt the second floor was a bit too low, and after discussing it with the front desk, they immediately moved us to the fourth floor. The fifth floor has laundry facilities, which was also very convenient. The breakfast was quite good, offering Chinese, Western, and Beijing specialties. We stayed here for five nights, and every time we entered or left, the staff, including the cleaning crew, greeted us. Highly recommended!

The location and cleanliness are wonderful. Right next to the ”Champs Elysees” of Beijing. May I kindly suggest to add a fee to continue proposing the collecting and cleaning which is displayed on the hotel website? It is confusing for guests to see a service proposed and not performed. See hotel website and joint pic of sign to hang on door in Chinese , didn't take a pic of the basket. Also if the receptionist asks you to bring down your dirty laundry basket (placed in the room) to the lobby, it can be perceived as gross by clients as you do not bring dirty clothes in a hotel lobby. Such things are not done and not to be suggested by the receptionist. Finally, most guests on holiday are happy to pay and have laundry done. It is a service we had in other hotels in China free or paid. 2 machines and 2 driers for so many rooms is not enough. Visiting all day(Beijing is huge) and staying up to 1.30 am doing laundry in a queue is tough during holidays. This needs to be corrected or crossed out on the hotel website so clients know beforehand. Overall positive though.
