Hotels in Minakami
Located in the historical Yujuku hot-spring area, Taiyokan offers public hot-spring baths. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property and a hot-spring bath can be reserved for private-use as well. JR Jomokogen Train Station is a 20-minute drive away.
The air-conditioned rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. A flat-screen TV, a safety deposit box and an electric kettle are included in each room. Japanese Yukata robes and toothbrush sets are provided for all guests, and rooms come with a private toilet. Bathroom facilities are shared.
Local souvenirs can purchased at the gift shop. Luggage storage is offered at the front desk.
Taiyokan Ryokan is a 5-minute drive from Akaya River and Takumi no Sato Craft Village.

LIJIAThe hotel is not far from the station, about a five-minute drive away. Near the hotel is Tianyi Art Museum whose owner is an artist of traditional Shakuhachi musical instruments. The decoration and details of the hotel are very artistic. Inadvertently found a hotel with a local traditional culture atmosphere. You need to make an appointment if you have a private soup, and you can see the outdoor scenery. Public soups for men and women are separated and served 24 hours a day. The breakfast is delicious and authentic with local specialties. The dinner will provide musical instrument performance and experience. Interesting.

It’s a family run pension with two super friendly golden retrievers, the whole house is newly built, extremely clean, and decorated with good taste
The dinner and breakfast are western- Japanese fusion, everything is homemade, definitely worth trying
There is a nice and clean private onsen, or you can take a bus to have a day trip to other bigger onsen
Minakami itself is a countryside area, and the pension is right next to the bus station
There is literally nothing around the stay, so you need to get everything you need in Minakami station, but I think it’s a characteristic rather than disadvantage

T.JimI was looking for a place to stay last minute and stumbled upon this hotel. It seems like an older establishment that's been renovated, but it retained the charm of a long-standing inn. The hot spring baths, which alternate between men and women, offered great views and were very satisfying, fitting for a traditional hot spring inn. However, I was a bit disappointed with the breakfast buffet; if you went later, some items weren't refilled once they ran out.

Our visit to this hotel was perfectly adequate. The traditional setting provided a nice sense of atmosphere, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient.
The onsen facilities themselves were clean and relaxing, meeting our expectations for a hot spring experience. Our room was spacious, but the amenities felt a little dated and could use some refreshment. Dinner and breakfast were included, offering a standard array of Japanese cuisine that was palatable, though not exceptional. The staff were polite. Overall, it's a safe and decent choice if you're looking for a no-frills, standard onsen hotel experience.

We stayed for one night in late November. It was a shame that the autumn leaves were at their final stage. The tofu kaiseki cuisine was delicious, tasty, and colorful. Many of the surrounding hotels and inns have closed, so the scenery feels lonely. I recommend this place for those who want to enjoy both the baths and the food.
