We booked for 6 weeks; the Lahana thought we'd got our booking incorrect! However, we were shown to our bungalow on top of hill overlooking beautiful landscaped gardens. Our room was large and spacious, good size bathroom with bath tub and outside shower. As we spend 3 months in the Far East we tend not travel light. The wardrobe was not large enough for all our cloths, but, we used wicker baskets for extra storage.[might be worth management take on board?] Breakfast was a delight of the day. Various fruits, eggs, meats and salads also Vietnamese favourites. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Viet, Kim,Nico, I could name them all. The whole LAHANA team! Would we return? YES. My only reservation is Phu Quoc has only really just started as a tourist trap. I t needs to clean up its beaches and surrounding roads and lanes! I'm sure it will! Reminded me of Phuket 20 years ago! Now spotless. Thank you Lahana for a wonderful holiday!

Apart from taking good pictures, the only other advantage is taking good pictures... Here we should focus on Amway regent, the regent in Phu Quoc Island is invincible! Marriott Dora? Let’s start by confirming the room type. Before traveling, I wanted Marriott to help me book the sunset restaurant, so I sent an email to confirm the room type. The reply email stated that I had booked a garden view room on a low floor, and another email came from the housekeeping department asking me to book a restaurant with them. Later, the room type was re-confirmed through Ctrip communication. We arrived at around one o'clock when we checked in. The room was not ready yet, so we were left to go shopping on our own because we didn't have a Vietnamese phone call to try our luck to see if the room was ready when we got back from shopping. When checking in, I asked if I could visit the pink building? Rejected. I asked if I could have a late check-out the next day? Rejected. (Compared to regent, not only did they check in early, but they also proactively asked if they wanted to upgrade their room type, and even delayed check-out until 2 p.m.) At about 11 o'clock that night, my friends saw a gecko crawling into the mini bar in the room. At first, we thought the gecko was not a pest and didn't care about it. In the second half of the night, we were not sure if it was a gecko. There were constant insect-like noises coming from the mini bar, so we called the housekeeping staff to check. After checking, he told us that this thing would do no harm to us except barking, and then left. I woke up at 5 or 6 the next morning and it was still barking. I didn't sleep very well. Breakfast was also terrible...pho didn't even have beef option, only chicken. The mangoes I was given were withheld and I had to wait in line to cut them, and I was given very little. Then during breakfast, someone came to express our condolences to us for saying ”terribly sorry” to insects. Everything was just a formality, and the service with a smile was considered compromised by them. Anyway, it was so frustrating to stay at Marriott, but it was so satisfying to stay at Regent. The food at Regent was so delicious and the mini bar was free. Not to mention how nice the hotel staff was... In short, don't stay in Marriott for too long, one night is really enough.

Excellent service, convenient location, and extremely helpful staff. I'm in utter love with this place. The décor of the brand-new room was sophisticated and elegant. The hotel employees provided excellent service, which made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. Leila, in particular, was kind and thoughtful in setting everything up for us, and she always comes with a big, genuine smile, which makes us even happier. She went above and above to make my stay as enjoyable as possible by planning my routes to visit various locations on my own, explaining in detail how to get there, and reserving my ticket to the airport. We want to express our gratitude for making our experience spectacular and incredibly memorable. Overall experience can be expressed in 3 syllables Fa Bu Lous, can’t wait to go back.

The service overall at the hotel was fine. I was able to take a shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel. Check-in was simple and a breeze. Email communication is however, subpar. I emailed the hotel about how to reserve a shuttle 4 days before my arrival, but didn't get a response until 2 days after I left (a total of about a week when I first emailed). I even responded by saying I had already left but did not receive any response apologizing for the delay. This is not service expected from a 5-star hotel. Check-out was another issue. I was standing in line while there was a window open with another agent, yet, he was just standing there posing for photos taken by another employee. Maybe they were taking photos for the hotel, but they should have checked me out when they saw me standing in line first. The breakfast buffet was good and had a wide variety of Asian and Western foods.

From the pick up at the airport to being dropped back there our experience was calm, professional and relaxing. We stayed in one of the beach villas for 4 nights and can’t recommend this resort enough. The accommodation is modern whilst retaining character and charm and the layout of the resort has clearly been fully thought through. There are many places dotted around the resort to relax and unwind. The beach bar for cocktails at sunset is a must and the two restaurants on site offer everything from well cooked western favourites to Vietnamese classics. The breakfast spread is one of the best I have seen. What is this resort’s best feature is the staff. They keep an air of calm and professionalism at all times whilst providing brilliant service. They work extremely hard to ensure your stay is perfect. The grounds of the resort are tirelessly kept clean and well kept. I would not hesitate to recommend this resort it truly is a little piece of paradise.

We had a wonderful stay in this hotel. Just chill and relax the whole day, in the pool and at the beach. We had our 3 meals in the resort including buying some food from the nearby supermarket. This hotel is also nearer to Sunset Town and Sun World and the airport.

This is my third time coming to Phu Quoc Island. Every time I land, I stay at this hotel first. It’s very affordable. However, there are fewer tourists staying here than in previous years, possibly due to the impact of newly opened hotels nearby. There is a night market nearby, just a few minutes' walk away. It's convenient for eating. There weren't many people there before, but now the night market is very lively and starting to take shape.

This resort is modern and luxury with pleasing architecture and garden landscaping. The only downside is that the beach eroded badly and dangerous to walk on (the resort closed the beach area). You can only enjoy watching the sunset from the bar and pool area. Hope the resort could work on this issue. The resort without the beach is definitely 5 star. But i have to give 4 star just because the beachfront erosion issue (as beach is an attraction for choosing a luxury stay). The room has everything. The bed also great and of quality, the sleep definitely not affected. The resort is close to the airport less than 15mins to reach airport. It also has a sourvenir shop, children area and some other amenities inside that makes it all-in-one resort. The staffs and service are also perfect. Suggestion: Hope the resort could seal the door from outside noise. Could hear people talking outside. Another, if erosion is too bad, then resort at least build the sea front deck as a new attraction instead of beach, so that guest still can enjoy the ocean, breeze and sea front and its 5 stars hotel will not impacted. Also, please ensure the foods are handled with care in the kitchen, as there was hair in my soup.

Amazing place! Good location, private beach, green territory, nice breakfast.

This is a great hotel! Our room was extraordinary with a seaside view. We had two very comfortable beds, hot water, electronic safe, fast internet, good access to transportation, and a stunning rooftop pool. The staff was friendly and professional and the massage class was worth taking. I rarely eat the complimentary breakfast when traveling in Asia but the breakfast here was very good with a wide range of choices. The serving staff was attentive and polite and I was able enjoy a more western style brunch while my wife (who is Vietnamese) enjoyed a well prepared Pho and fresh vegetables. I have traveled in Vietnam a half dozen times now and this is my new favorite hotel. We will definitely book it again. Ken Clark
