From the moment we arrived, the Hemingways was magical. We were exhausted from our 20 hour flight and the beds were perfect (sheets so soft!). Our next 3 days were met with every single staff member smiling and greeted us with warmth. The bar upstairs had beautiful views. The restaurant…well, with no exaggeration, the best food & service we’ve ever had! Our highest recommendation goes to the Hemingways Hotel in Nairobi!

Hervorragendes Hotel, sehr schöne Zimmer und allenthalben erstklassigen, immer freundlichen Service. SPA u Pool in sehr gutem Zustand mit breitem Angebot. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und lässt auch unter dem Stichpunkt Sicherheit nichts zu wünschen übrig.

Came here with a group of friends (40+ years of friendship). The ambience was awesome. The meals were top notch and delicious. The Prosecco kept on flowing generously. We had a very good time here. I will surely revisit any time I visit Nairobi 🥂👌🏾

A beautiful hotel, highly recommend. Dinner in their restaurant was an amazing experience. Victor, our waiter recommended dishes that were outstanding! All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming. A very nice restaurant, but felt comfortable in our khaki clothing.

Incredible plantation style hotel, great food and service. Especially Gerald at the dinner restaurant - such a thoughtful and friendly waiter. The property is safe and very elegant. We will be coming back every time we are in Nairobi. The people are what made it special.

Wonderful hotel with amazing staff! When our luggage did not arrive before our safari, Evans picked us up from the airport, took us shopping two days in a row to get needed supplies, took us on a half day tour which was great as everyone knows him! We felt lots of special treatment! He is the kindest person and so helpful! The hotel is beautiful, the grounds immaculate, food was very good! Everyone was so willing to help us as we didn’t have luggage! Thank you for making our stay so special! We will stay here if ever in Nairobi again! Thank you Evans for everything!

Very enjoyable stay here for 2 nights in this lovely hotel. Pool was clean. Had a spa massage which was very good. Food was all excellent, every meal. Attentive service. Our only comment is that the temperature of the shower in our room had wild temperature swings, making for a less pleasant experience as we had to keep ducking in and out when it got too cold or too hot. It was reported to management but no improvement was made. Our roommates next door had exactly the same issue.

We stopped in Nairobi for a few nights prior to our safari journeys and chose Hemingway's over other luxury hotels due to its reputation. Firstly, I would say that it is a beautiful and luxurious hotel, tranquil and the rooms blew us away. Secondly, the service is impeccable and gracious, with one exception that they insisted we took a snack from the mini bar, which we did not. We went back and forth for 15 minutes at check out and still no resolution. For how much we have spent here, it was ridiculous to negotiate over $6 in my opinion. The restaurant had delicious food and is open all hours. The include breakfast is generous, with both buffet and a la carte items. It was thoughtfully timed from 6 a.m. for the morning safari people. We really loved the curry night midweek as well. If you are lucky with a clear day, you can watch the sunset from the bar on the mezzanine level. The biggest downside to Hemingway's is the hefty price tag, easily 2-3 times the cost of other luxury hotels in Nairobi. Given that we spend time outside the resort, I hesitate to say it's worthwhile beyond a 1-2 night treat. Karen is a bit out of the way if you want to go downtown, as many Ubers do not want to come out here. On our last day, as we could not secure an Uber, we had to use the hotel car service for the airport, which cost $125. A subsequent journey from another hotel cost half that, and an Uber would have been $25.

Beautiful hotel with lovely grounds. We stayed one night in the Leakey Suite on our way to Kifaru house. Butler service was excellent. Traveler beware, not one USB charger found. The charging outlets are recessed and our adapters would not fit. Ended up unplugging lights to charge devices. Breakfast buffet was lovely. Don’t order the lasagna at dinner , however
