There is really nothing to say about the hotel. During the epidemic, it is not only cheap but also has fewer people! The neighborhood is also very close to French Street, and there are delicious oysters, ACME restaurant is recommended, the seafood is really delicious!

Do not book this room expecting to find much of what made the Ace Hotel special, aesthetically. The staff is still fantastic, don’t get me wrong, but the vibe has changed for the worse. Now rebranded as “The Barnett” we were very disappointed. We used to love coming here, and truly appreciated the dark art deco aesthetic. Now, they are in the process of sterilizing it. The now light colored walls and weird pinkish shutters don’t work with the fixtures, floors, bathroom tiles, etc. It feels like the soul of the place has been ripped out to satisfy what some bland corporate designer thinks a hotel should be, but that’s missing the point entirely. Yes, it could have used some renovations and touch ups, but you didn’t have to ruin it. We didn’t stay at the Ace (nor did we book a pricey room at “The Barnett”) to stay at some bland hotel, we wanted something different. It’s sad to say, but we probably won’t be back. Pay attention to the date of the reviews. Most of the reviews here are from the Ace, not the Barnett, which is misleading considering how much has changed. The old vibe was great, the new one is bland and feels off. Don’t try to force something special to be what it isn’t.

Quaint hotel with lots of New Orleans charm. So very clean! My room was very simple with a comfy bed and antique style decor. Housekeeping service every day made the bed, emptied trash and brought fresh towels and new soap. I haven’t been seeing that at all traveling since Covid. It was my first time in New Orleans and I’m so glad I chose this hotel. It’s right on the trolly line straight to the garden district. The staff was helpful and friendly. Todd, the bellman made me feel so comfortable while I was traveling alone and was especially kind with his tourist suggestions. I found everyone more than willing to help in any way. It was a really pleasant stay.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very clean room and common areas. The only reason I gave a 4/5 on facilities is because I don't think we should have had to pay $25 to park in the hotel parking garage!

My daughter and I had the wonderful experience while staying at the Canopy by Hilton New Orleans Downton from July 3 – 9, 2024 during the Essence Festival of Culture. I've been a Diamond Hilton Honors member for numerous years, and I feel honored to express the wonderful hospitality received at this Hilton property. Prior to our check-in I had the opportunity to speak with Dijon and Ms. La La regarding logistics. Their professionalism and willingness to assist in my inquiries were over and above my expectations. I had the opportunity to meet Dijon upon check-in and he welcomed my daughter and I as if we were family. He made a point to state to call him if there was anything that we needed to ensure our stay was great. The next morning, I met Ms. La La who remembered my call and we had the opportunity to greet one another each day until my stay. She recommended excursions and restaurants and was always very complimentary. Each day at breakfast I was greeted by either Felicia or Kenneth. I can truly say these two employees made a great start of the day while serving with a smile. During our check-out, I met Chris, the property manager, and I informed him about each of these employees and that each are truly an asset to the Hilton company and how much we enjoyed our stay at this property. We would definitely book the Canopy by Hilton NOLA again.

This hotel was fantastic. It’s located right next to a streetcar station. Our room had a mini-kitchen with cutlery and dishes, a washing machine and a dryer. The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay so much.

The location of the hotel is good, the room is super clean and tidy, the whole hotel is in line with five points, why I didn't give five points just because the location of my room is not so good, facing the roof full of a lot of air conditioners

The hotel suggested by a friend is very good. It is right by the river. You can go for a walk by the river after dinner. I will stay at this hotel next time I have a chance to go to New Orleans.

Outstanding
KKseniia KoshevaiaWe recently had the pleasure of staying at Hôtel Peter and Paul in New Orleans and overall, it was a delightful experience. The interior of the hotel exudes a captivating charm, blending historic architecture with modern comfort seamlessly. The attention to detail in the design adds a unique touch to the ambiance.
The service at Hôtel Peter and Paul was exceptional, with a staff that was attentive and friendly. They went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Whether it was providing local recommendations or promptly addressing any concerns, the staff's dedication to guest satisfaction was evident.
While the overall experience was positive, I did encounter a minor hiccup with the housekeeping service. It wasn't as thorough as I would have expected, and some details were overlooked. However, this didn't overshadow the other positive aspects of the stay.
In conclusion, Hôtel Peter and Paul offers a charming and unique retreat in the heart of New Orleans. The impressive interior and outstanding service make it a memorable choice for those seeking a distinctive and comfortable stay in this vibrant city.
FFFSthisisstupid1Named after the founder of New Orleans, this hotel is slightly old-world but charming for that reason. Fully air conditioned, it's a period building that has comfortable rooms, and ours had a good sized en-suite shower room. Located in the French district, it's perfectly positioned for walking almost anywhere in the city (which is not large and therefore easily navigated on foot). New Orleans is chock full of eateries and bars and breakfast can be at a different diner or bistro every day. There is a bar at the back of the hotel and and a small pool and terrace area just adjacent. It's a very pleasant place to sit and relax after walking the town, a small oasis in the city. The bed was comfortable and the en-suite roomy with a powerful shower. Our room had a view over a public car park area, which isn't salubrious but since we only spent time in there to sleep, it wasn't an issue. One thing we discovered in the USA is that there is an ordinance that all railway trains must sound their horns multiple times when approaching a level crossing. There appear to be several of these in New Orleans and so our sleep was often disturbed by the strident blasts as trains approached these crossings and the station. I doubt that anywhere in the city can escape this, so it's not a criticism of the hotel. I can recommend this hotel for its appointment and location.
GGavinmcvWe stayed 4 nights here and loved it. It was in the French Quarter but was quiet. The cafe is very handy and the Bombay club bar is great for a happy hour drink. We especially loved Kenyetta who greeted us (and everyone else) with a cheery smile and conversation every time we came back from the day. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about New Orleans.
GGuest UserOur family spent two nights at the Bourbon Hotel (October 10-12). We read the reviews and were expecting an upscale hotel experience. We travel very often in the US and around the world, in all types of hotels-from basic 3 starts accommodations to luxury resorts. We do not go to hotels unless we verify recommendations and find the best fit. At most, the reviews are accurate. At times, slightly non-representing, nevertheless, we realize that it is a matter of taste. However, it is rare that an experience is so far fetched from the positive review that I had to write one myself (I very rarely do). From the moment we entered, it was a clear that we are entering a once glamorous venue which was not maintained, not clean with an atmosphere in lobby as if we entered a train station and not a hotel. The room itself was also filthy, with toe nails under our bed, hair in the closet and dust in the room. There was no soap, and housekeeping did not clean at all the following morning. The door to the balcony does not close properly and therefore it is very noisy. The empty mini bar was more of a heater than a cooler. During the whole duration of our stay, the same garbage items were not removed from the elevator and others not cleaned in lobby. When we attempted to order room service as stated on the hotel website, we were told that “we no longer deliver food to room” with no apology given. When we went to try our luck at the breakfast buffet, we were told “we no longer offer it”. We were fine with a-la-carte but then we found out that they only offer bar seating and no high chair was provided for our daughter. Again, with no apology. They were filming a series outside of the hotel, which by itself is a cool thing, but not when it makes the hotel a production room, filthy, messy, noisy and again-the hotel does not acknowledge it. The worst moment was when we needed to wait 15 minutes in the heat to get back to the hotel as the small street was closed for filming. Again, no apology given. When we needed the front desk supervisor’s assistance in a billing matter concerning tax, we were dismissed in the most vulgar and not-service-oriented manner, despite the fact that they clearly did not follow State and Federal Law. We tried to explain the issue but again, there was a total lack of willingness to listen. Bottom line, this hotel is a disgrace. Maybe years ago it deserved 4 stars, today it is a mediocre youth hostel that charges like a luxury hotel. Avoid.
I was very much looking forward to this stay, as I have stayed at Loft 523 in years past. There were a number of very small things that unfortunately added up. Upon our arrival, the hotel never alerted us that there was a road closure due to construction on Gravier St. Upon early arrival, we did have to wait one hour before the room was ready. Upon returning to officially check in, the front desk alerted us that they thought our room was ready, so they went ahead and provided us with our room keys. Upon arriving at our room, the door was left cracked and was never completely closed, which was a bit of a concern. There were a number of issues in our room, including broken/missing shades on the windows, a ladder on the porch that was never removed by maintenance during the entirety of our stay (we ended up moving it ourselves to enjoy the porch area), a dirty mattress we, unfortunately, did not notice until the fitted sheet came undone on our last day at the hotel, as well as non-working outlets, a broken bathroom makeup mirror, and a dirty tub. The glass in the shower still had water stains, which led me to wonder if the shower had been cleaned prior to our arrival. The toilet was very slow and difficult to flush as well. After my previous experience at Loft 523, I was excited to be back, but unfortunately, this boutique hotel has gone downhill since my last stay. During my first stay, there was a bar in this hotel. This time around, there was no bar and no amenities available to guests in the lobby, not even water. In order to take advantage of hotel amenities, including water, we were directed to the International House. For the cost of our stay, I am not sure I would come back. Great location and great concept, but it needs some work.
RRuskinWe booked the hotel seeing that it had 4 stars, there was a pool and the amenities list said there was an oven and microwave for the room. I can tell you that when we got there we were definitely surprised and not in a good way. The pool was closed even though they put a sign on the door thanking people for staying 6 ft apart. I don’t understand how you can be 6 ft apart if you can’t even go into the pool area, let alone the pool itself. Another reason we were extremely unhappy was because we had brought frozen food expecting to be able to heat it up and there was no oven, nor a microwave in the room. For a 4 star hotel that is ridiculous! Additionally, the hotel was doing some COVID-19 relief programs which in retrospect is very nice of them due to the fact that New Orleans is a poor area, but they did not let us know about it when we booked the room and the outside the hotel was full of homeless people and others just sitting around smoking and drinking by both doors outside and roaming throughout the lobby. My husband and I were very displeased and even though the hotel was giving them food and water, they created a place where anyone could have definitely caught the virus if they aren’t careful enough or if anyone walking in had it. If we ever go back to New Orleans, we will not be staying there.
JJINThe location is very good, super close to the French Quarter. However, the location of the room is very poor. The windows are facing the high wall opposite the Hutong.
GGuest UserStaff at front desk was friendly enough. No parking for hotel specifically, but we parked in the garage right next door. Lots of broken down cars, but thankfully we didn't have any issues. Some strange people wandering around the streets, but that's not anything the hotel can change. Location was good - not too far a walk to Bourbon Street & the French Quarter. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite, which had a full kitchen and nice size open area. Our pull-out bed had no mattress on it, so someone had to bring one up. It was nice to have 2 bathrooms, however, one of the bedrooms didn't have a window in it. Did not try the breakfast or use any of the common spaces.
GGuest UserI booked this hotel 2 months ago through hotels.com. I selected the ”pay at hotel” option. We show up and they do not have our reservation or any available rooms. Unfortunately, the card I used to reserve the room was compromised and had to be canceled. I forgot that this card was used to reserve the room, and never followed-up. Nevertheless, I would think that since I only reserved the room and would still pay at the hotel, the hotel would hold on to my reservation, or maybe contact us before canceling the reservation. This was a huge inconvenience, and ended up roaming the streets in desperate need of a place to stay late at night.
五五一在家Conveniently located in the heart of the French Quarter in Orléans. It is the parking to be handed over to the doorman and parked in the far away garage. Going on Thanksgiving, there are too many people to stay. Breakfast was eaten at the French street outside the French street, cheap and delicious. The photo is the restaurant on the French street next to it, the breakfast is good.
