Acropolis Oceanfront Resort

nice place, old. All rooms face the ocean. Been going for last 2 years. I've stayed in a lot worse. Staff is friendly. Unfortunately last year we hit the hurricane and left early. Couldn't be helped mother nature Otherwise diner within 1 city block. easy walk to local places.

Run away from this place, it is Horrible ! You don't even get what you pay for. Stayed here this past weekend (9/13-15). It hasn't been updated probably since it opened. The furniture had to be original except for the mattresses and they were ok, the drapes had holes in them, the carpet had patches glued down, tiles missing on the bathroom floor, paint and spackle is peeling off the walls and ceilings, the AC did not work - told the compressor just broke and they are waiting for parts but see reviews for weeks back saying the same thing. Then they said the compressor they were waiting on was hijacked (?) so they went out and got some fans and put one in our room. No security bars or chains on the doors, just a little slide bolt that was so rusted that it fell off the door when we tried to use it. Had to find a piece of cardboard to keep the door from banging back and forth and the door frames are all rotted out at the bottoms. Coffee maker and 2 cups but no filters or coffee ? Million dollar view but we were afraid to use the balcony because the railing was rusty. the pool looked clean and the 5 seagulls occupying it seemed to enjoy it. I'm sure the penthouse rooms might be better, but do yourself a favor, go elsewhere.

How about getting rid black mattress and pillows? Black rugs? Smelly air that only worked the first few hours. Clogged toliets.. screen doors to the balcony didn't even open I had to break it open to get outside. First room was disgusting, the smell was horrible. The mattress was black the pillows were too. The second room had new mattress, why not update all the rooms with new matresses. The pool was never attended to buy any cleaner. Baby pool was cloudy. We didn't use the pool again. Bird poop and a flim floated the entire time. I get it's the beach but what happened to putting any love or care in your establishment? You don't offer refunds bc everyone must ask for them. People are expecting to come to a nice place not a dirty run down smelly no air Clogged toliets and dirty rugs. I have never in all my life seen black mattress. Go look at room 507 and tell me those mattresses are not black and those pillows throw them away. Power wash the building. Anything that involves cleaning and updating. I've stayed in many places in wildwood, this is by far the grossest place. Rip those awful rugs up. Throw your mattress out. Throw the pillows out. Running this place down to the ground.

We have stayed here twice each summer for the past four years. (Actually, we are hoping to go for our third stay this summer in the next couple of weeks!) Of course, the view is unbeatable, but the genuine, warm-welcoming hospitality we are shown, from the housekeeping staff to the owners, is bar none! Our room is always exceptionally clean, and the beds are quite comfortable. Air conditioning was ice cold.

Second day here, sitting at the pool with a fresh Pina Colada in hand, slight ocean breeze wondering how it's possible that we just found this gem! Every room is oceanfront. Restaurant and poolside bar. Enough poolside loungers and tables around the xlarge pool for all guests! Extremely clean and the employees are beyond accommodating! From an early check-in to frozen cocktails poolside this place can't be beat at the NJ shore. The beds are comfy and mini fridge ice cold! Water pressure is great too! We've had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and everything was delicious and believe it or not very decently priced! Get down here, the sun is waiting on you!

We have been coming to the Acropolis for 15 years or more. First as a couple, then with our children as our family grew. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They treat us like family. It is like coming to a 2nd home for us. We return to the Acropolis every year when we come to Wildwood and will continue to do so for the next 15+ years!

Complete crap hole! From the moment we got there. Looks like they made smaller parking spaces than normal . Could barley open my car door no matter where i parked in their lot. The air conditioner was not working and blowing hot air. According to owner it was just repaired but as i look through their reviews the owner has been telling customers the same story for a while. The rooms look like a child did the repairs. Paint spatter, uneven walls i could go on and on. Only thing going for this place was the pool. I would rather sleep in my car than spend money on this place again.

Ugghhhhh…where to start?! No AC, super smelly, spiderwebs in corners, ripped carpet, dirty balcony (crumbs and other debris not from us), rusty appliances and fixtures, stained furniture, hair and paint on the pull out couch sheet, the list goes on and on. When the smell and heat got to be too much inside, we couldn’t even get relief outside because other guests were smoking **** all night on their balconies. My kids nicknamed this place “The A-crap-olis” - that was the best part of our stay.

This was our fourth stay in three years, and it won't be our last. Rooms were clean and well-appointed. Housekeeping staff was efficient and friendly. There were 2 flatscreen TVs with a plethora of channels. The beds were comfortable with new pillows and comforters. The shower pressure was amazing with plenty of hot water. The pool area is beautiful with a large (olympic-size?) pool and plenty of lounge chairs as well as umbrellaed tables with chairs. Every room has a private, oceanfront balcony with million dollar views! There's nothing better than being able to listen to the ocean while you sleep ;)
