I'm frankly amazed at the architecture of this hotel. They started with a relatively narrow and deep lot in a fairly plain neighborhood, which is not exactly an ideal situation, but by arranging the rooms around a central open-air walkway, they managed to create the feeling of a mini-resort. I'm not saying it's the Four Seasons, but it's genuinely clever and really enhances the experience. Other good things about this hotel: The rooms are very spacious, and ours came with a living room and kitchen. The bed was super comfortable with quality linens, the a/c was both strong and nearly silent, and our bedroom was pin-drop quiet. It's also a very well-managed place, and they'll take good care of you. The main negative is the location. It's a decent walk to get to the historic center, something like 10 minutes, maybe a little less. It's also not an especially attractive or touristy neighborhood, although there are a fair number of small restaurants and bars once you start looking. That said, the area doesn't feel unsafe, just kind of plain. In short, you're trading a little walking for quite a bit of savings, so you just have to decide what your priorities are.
