I spent two nights at the DoubleTree in Downtown Orlando as a result of being mandatorily evacuated due to Hurricane Ian. Most of the other people staying in the hotel were in a similar situation. I felt that the hotel did a good job of dealing with the huge surge of stressed out people. The DoubleTree wasn't our first choice, but when we decided to evacuate to Orlando, many other gulf coast Floridians were making similar choices, and we got turfed to this DoubleTree with a different Hilton property. The location is pretty good. It's close to downtown, close to the Lake Ivanhoe area, and close to I4. There were a bunch of restaurants within walking distance. The parking isn't exactly connected to the hotel, which wouldn't be a problem in non-hurricane situations. There was no valet when we arrived. There were staff available to help with bags, etc., although the person was helping the car in front of me, so I unloaded everything myself (which was fine). My parents were able to check in early for both rooms, and from what I observed in the lobby, they had enough staff that no one was waiting for too long for check in. They were definitely well stocked with bottled water and cookies for everyone checking in. We had two connecting rooms so that my parents could help with the kids and we could pool resources. The rooms have refrigerators which are pretty spacious. The rooms were a bit dated, but the beds were reasonably comfortable (although the pillows could have been more supportive), there was a practical set up of seating, and everything looked clean. Because the hotel was booked to full and because the Hurricane was going to go through Orlando as a tropical storm, there was no standard housekeeping available, but you could request new sheets/towels/amenities to be delivered to your room. I spoke with a bartender, and the Hilton had several employees who stayed in the hotel for the duration of the storm warning and storm to make sure that things were running for guests. I very much appreciated that they kept the kitchen (albeit with a very limited menu) and bar (full bar still available) running and that maintenance was available the whole time. While I didn't love the limited menu at the restaurant, at least we had the option of hot food! The hotel is on the same power grid at the local hospital, so we never lost power. The cable flickered a bit once the winds became strong. The window in my parents' room did spring a leak during the storm, but thankfully the amount of water that came in was manageable with a couple towels. The downstairs cafe and lobby became very waterlogged during the storm. But from a safety perspective, we all came through the storm. And when we elected to check out after two nights instead of the three we booked, the hotel graciously didn't charge us for the final night.

Stayed here for EDC Orlando! Never been to EDC Orlando nor been to Orlando. To be honest, I did not feel safe with all that has been written into law by the Gov. Ron DeSantis which is being a retired naval officer that should never been the case. Regardless, I champion and went to my first EDC with my friends who are very knowledgeable in HOUSE MUSIC. Which I in my youth did not truly get to explore. The hotel was great and allowed my a friend who arrived a day early check into my hotel. I was delayed due to sharp pain triggering from a hit and run while riding my bike to my workout. This caused me to miss my first flight which my champion airline DELTA as usual got me to my destination. Anyway, the front desk was gracious and polite. Allowed my friend who flight was a day early check into my room without me being present. Also a disabled Naval Officer. I got the the hotel, checked in some laundry to the sleepy night audit, and went upstairs to rest. Another friend got in so the hotel let him up so they could rest till they could check into the Hilton around the corner. Hotel had been very kind. After resting we grabbed lunch and the guys went off to check-in their hotel. I took meds to deal with my pain which tamed from my rest and lunch. Called about the items I had laundered. Front Desk sent them up as I went to the first day of the festival. Got back and noticed some pieces were missing. The sleepy night audit could not locate anything. Called in the AM, the items were eventually found but stains everywhere. After a lot of back and forth nothing was done. Ruined a pair of $200 Hugo Boss Jeans, Savage Fenty Hoodie and pants, designer shirt plus more. Also, numerous times asked my room to be serviced. It never got cleaned and I was there for 4 days. It was uncomfortable nice I felt during my stay after mentioning the damaged items. The cleaners have done nothing and called them 5 or 6 times. DO NOT USE THEIR CLEANING SERVICE! IT IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER USED EVER! I said on the Marriott experience I'd stay here again. I am in the air about that discussion.

Be mindful of parking. 20ft away from the Hilton entrance there is a sign that says hotel self parking, identical to the one I posted above/below. I believe the towing company listed on the green paper owns the lot and there is a camera there that can see the entire lot. Less than 10 mins after parking you WILL be towed. The towing company has had at least four different names, an F with the Better Business Bureau, 4 different numbers that are all inactive, and the owner was shot and killed at his home in April 2024 over his towing company. My issue is that the green sign the hotel posted that I took a picture of above/below was not up when we checked in and no one informed us that the sign next door was false advertising. While Hilton cannot control other companies they could take care of their customers by fully informing them that they will be stuck paying $250 if they don’t pay the $35 for valet parking at Hilton. And the reason valet is $35 is because that parking lot could absolutely not fit the full amount of cars if that hotel was booked up. My advice: book Hilton if you please, but pick another location where the staff genuinely care about their customers.

The experience was great! Even though we were by the highway it wasn’t so noisy and busy. Loved the jacuzzi!! They was a little mixed up with the self parking but the manager handled it very calm and swiftly for us. Definitely will be booking again.

My first impression of this property was very favorable. This is obviously an older Marriott property that has undergone a really nice refurbishment. Everything is updated from the lobby to the rooms to the M Club. I am a Bonvoy Platinum elite. I checked in on the mobile app and was pleasantly surprised that I was checked in promptly, however none of my room requests were met. High floor away from elevator are my preferences. High floor isn't a big deal but I was placed in a room directly adjacent to the elevator with no platinum upgrade. The room was very nice and updated and I was really happy with how well they had updated the rooms. My main gripe with this property was the poorly managed M Club with embarrassing food options. The breakfast was adequate and in line with most other M Clubs, however the evening hors d'oeuvres were embarrassing. On the Saturday evening of my stay the evening hors d'oeuvres were put out an hour late and when they finally were put out, the offering was frozen chicken strips (think kids meal at a restaurant) that were cold and the worst hard waffles that were obviously left over from breakfast (they serve the same waffles at breakfast). They were hard and cold. The person who set up the hors d'oeuvres didn't put out ANY serving utensils for any of the offerings. They also had very small platters of cheese, crackers and meats. There were so few crackers put out that they were gone in a minute. The person who set up the food went back to the front desk and never returned. The one other embarrassing miss for Marriot and their M Clubs is that they require guests to pay for drinks in the M Club. What a blow to their most loyal guests. Other competing brands offer complimentary evening happy hours. Overall this is a decent property, but they really need to step up their evening hors d'oeuvres game.

Just had a quick one night stay at The Grand Bohemian Orlando. Everything was perfect! Fantastic property with a fantastic restaurant and bar. My ambassador status was acknowledged. Was upgraded to a fantastic jacuzzi suite! The club lounged was closed but was offered breakfast or 750 extra points. I had an outstanding breakfast in the restaurant! I wish I could have remember all the staff members I interacted with, but everyone delivered a flawless execution of service. I do remember Jonathan from valet. He was polite, professional, and very quick with the delivery with my car! Overall, fantastic stay. Didn’t have one issue. Well done to the property and staff! 5 stars!!

Most hotels at this price range are in desperate need of a renovation. Usually they all have a similar stale smell in the dated carpet. We enjoyed the fresh look and feel of this one. Check in was quick. Check out was even quicker. While checking in, we were asked if we preferred a low or high level room which made me realize I've never been offered that choice before. We chose high. Nice view of downtown. Our do not disturb sign was respected. 0 complaints from my experience. Spent our last night with a drink at the bar and used their pool table. I visit Orlando almost every other year and this will not be the last time I choose the Aloft downtown. We originally chose it because of the reviews and they are right. Seeing that their last 1 star review was last year says a lot about the changes they have made.

GGuest UserI wish I had more nice things to say about our visit to Rosen Shingle Creek. Overall it was a nice stay, but little negatives piled up throughout, resulting in this average review. I brought my family along with me for a very large conference being held at the Orlando Convention Center, and the RSC was an official conference hotel, so many attendees were staying here. PROS . The staff! Overall, wonderful, friendly, engaging and responsive. Shout out to Heather and Mike at the Cat-Tails bar and poolside service. We had an Amazon Fresh order scheduled (there is a small fridge in the room) and the bell stand delivered it within 5 minutes of us requesting it. My mom and niece were also staying at the hotel, and the front desk attendant thoughtfully placed our rooms right next to each other. . Conference management. We had a great conference rate and the acknowledgment of our (significant) presence was thoughtful. Overall, the team was well prepared for several hundred attendees moving around the property. CONS . Rooms NOT that family friendly. I have a real issue with hotel bathroom designs that aren’t accessible for kids. I had to drag the ottoman into the bathroom area so my youngest could reach the sink. A huge leather ottoman in the bathroom is not ideal. . Substandard housekeeping. I asked for laundry bags from our service provider and was told they weren’t available. She pressured us out of our room one day saying she was trying to finish her shift early and upset my niece to the point of tears. Another morning, we had privacy lock and sign on and they were knocking at 8:30 to come in. It all felt very disconnected. . The Food. The biggest disappointment was that a resort this size, and a Universal Studios property, was such a let-down when it came to food. If you have any food allergy whatsoever, don’t stay here. The RSC makes little to no accommodation for food allergy or intolerance, which is very surprising in this day and age. My husband is celiac and other than FRENCH FRIES and VEGETABLES was extremely restricted in his food options. Only one restaurant was able to offer him gluten free bread for a burger. Food allergies are more and more common, it is unreasonable that RSC was lacking in its accommodations. In comparison to Disney properties where almost anything can be accommodated for food allergies, it was a glaring difference. Food options for children were also limited and unhealthy. After three days of eating cereal, French fries, and cardboard pizza, my kids were desperate for a freaking hot dog. None of the seven restaurants offered such a thing, but I was told they were available at the golf course snack stand. So I walk all the way out there to get three hot dogs and they were…sold out of hot dogs. Our Amazon Fresh delivery was a godsend, and there’s a Publix market at the end of the (very long) resort drive. . Universal partner means what?? One afternoon we wanted to head over to Universal City Walk. Unfortunately, this
GGuest UserThe room card allows you to enter the park in advance. It should be good to go in summer. You can experience the swimming pool downstairs. We had to wear coats in the morning and evening during the Chinese New Year. The hotel facilities are a bit old and the hygiene is average. Fortunately, the price is acceptable.
GGuest UserThis hotel is in an absolutely fantastic location for Universal Studios - that’s without a doubt the key selling point. It’s next door to a DoubleTree Hilton which charges a lot more but is directly next door so with the Best Western you can stay just as close but for less. I had a problem with the air conditioning kicking in and out all night and the buttons wouldn’t fix it. I rang and reported it to reception the next morning, and when I returned I asked at reception and the person manning the desk didn’t know anything about it. I was worried. However I shouldn’t have been as when I got to the room it had been fixed by maintenance and remained on (phew) for the rest of my stay. The cleaners were great and serviced my room every day, leaving it lovely and fresh for when I returned from the theme park. The overall state of the hotel is a bit tired but this shouldn’t put you off booking - a hotel this close to Universal should mean you spend most of each day at Universal! If you’re planning to spend more time in the hotel, and don’t just need a comfy bed to stop over, then this may not be the hotel for you. However if you’re looking for a good price and a great location this is for you for sure! Just to note, there is a free shuttle to Universal it leaves once in the morning and returns about 5.30 (check most up to date times with the hotel). It’s free but quite small. Not a problem as Best Western is the first stop but it does pick up from a Hampton as well, and gets quite crowded. All in all, I’d give this hotel a strong 4/5!
GGuest UserWe happened to come across the Residence Inn as our flights were delayed and we needed to find new accommodation as our previous hotel was at capacity. So I did book this quite quickly and frantically however im so glad I found this hotel.
If you are looking to stay some where that is less crowded and without a million kids running up and down hallways then this is a good choice.
There is also a lovely pool area with spa to hangout for the day and laze around.
The breakfast is simple yet satisfying with both hot and cold options and you can even make Mickey Mouse waffles.
The only couple of very teeny tiny negative comments (which not all at the fault of the hotel ) is
1) this is not an ideal area If you don’t have a car unless you like walking. You will not be able to simply walk out get a coffe and comeback unless you are willing to walk at least 20 mins and cross major roads ….However you can Uber eats food drinks alcohol etc for as little as $2.00 USD so you don’t even have to leave if you don’t want to.
2) our air-conditioner did not work so the room became really humid I didn’t bother saying anything because we opened the windows and the cool air helped cool the room down
I would definitely stay here again if I had a car or just wanted to have a place to chill and never leave the hotel 😊
GGuest UserVery good similar to a motel, with a swimming pool, a Starbucks, a small supermarket and light meals on site. Travel is also more convenient, 20 minutes walk to the convention center
DDesilianaThe hotel location is very recomended for you who want to go universal studio or go to the premium outlet. Dont forget you have to booked a bus to go the universal studio the day before, inside a hotel there is outlet for you to booked the bus. If you want to rent a car there also a rent car outlet inside the hotel. I go to premium outlet , walk to 10 min only. If using uber it cost you about CAD 9. I just dont like the room hotel floor all using carpet. Thanks
GGuest UserWe checked in around 7 pm with a gentleman that has a unique name should have told him to write it down I apologize but I hope you get recognition he checked us in and we were on our way to enjoy the resort unfortunately 3 hours later we noticed our ac not working and I told him about he said I'll said a tech when we came back in wasn't fixed so I called front desk and James answered apologizing about the situation and that unfortunately he couldn't do anything till the mornin, in the morning Zoe and Jillian helped my family with our extension and were able to move us to a more comfortable room with a working ac thank you all so much for going above and beyond we had a blast!! Definitely going back!!
GGuest UserMuch better than 1st time. Hotel is under remodel.. They just finished their pool and it looks great.. They're working on the roof. The rooms still need some work. But they are coming a long way. Price is right. There is a deposit which is I believe $50. You do get it back and roughly about 7 to 10 days depending on your credit card. It is not pet friendly unless you have a service dog. Hotel is right before the Orlando health Doctor Phillips. Rooms come with a microwave and a Mini refrigerator. They do serve a breakfast that you must eat out front. You cannot take it back to your room. All their handicapped rooms or on the 1st floor.
GGuest UserIt was an okay stay I rate it 3 stars because most of the place was not nice looking. Door had a chunk missing and the walls where broken and badly painted.
