Looking for a family room that is not too small, good rating, not too expensive, and then come here, I will tell you whether it is as advertised or not.
First of all, I understand that the accommodation is not far from the crowded area or the train station, but it is not as expected. Whether coming from Dotonbori, Glico sign or Kuromon Market, walking to the accommodation is more than a kilometer, taking the train is one station, the train fare is 200 yen, and walking another 600-800 meters. Especially when checking in and out, carrying heavy bags, it is very difficult. It is almost deadly to walk to the main road and turn to the train station.
Let's come to the room. The room is as advertised. The room size is not small at all. When you enter, there is a dining table, 2 chairs, 1 long chair, a sink, glasses, a hot water kettle. Even better, there is a vacuum cleaner, a washing machine with detergent, and an iron and ironing board. It is excellent (I like that there is an iron. I don't have to wear wrinkled clothes anymore 😁).
The bathroom is separated from the shower room. Even though the shower room is small, I like it. The water pressure is super high and there is a chair to sit on. The washbasin has a good shelf, a hair dryer, a toothbrush, that's all, nothing else.
The bed has a Queen Size and a single bed. The mattress is very soft, too soft, it's too soft. I personally don't like it because it's so soft that it sinks. I wake up often (usually I find it too hard. This is the first time I've found it too soft 😅). The air conditioner is the best. It's so cold that it makes you feel cold. The blanket is good but the pillow is bad. It's very small and flat. There are only 3 pieces. The room probably isn't soundproof. If you hear someone in the next room or on the floor above you, you should be able to hear it (luckily, there were almost no guests on the day we stayed in the building). The building has 10 floors and only 2 rooms on each floor.
Checking in is another thing that might be a bit difficult. It requires a lot of personal wit if you've never checked in by yourself. You have to check the details from the email they sent you. There will be a password to enter through the first door. Then you will see a tablet to register again. You have to enter another password and then register by taking a picture of your passport (everyone stays). Then you will get a password to unlock the small locker in front of you to get the room key again (you have to unlock it according to the room you will stay in). For example, if your room is 8A, you can only put the password in the 8A locker.) I have explained it in detail. Are you confused? 😅 (If you can't do it, add Line or other methods to ask or ask for help from the staff, which will be posted on the door.)
The advantage is that the building has an elevator and there is a locker in front of the building.
In conclusion, the accommodation here has both advantages and disadvantages as mentioned. Try to consider it. Personally, I stayed here for 3 nights. It was very difficult to walk to the accommodation. If you want to be comfortable and have money to spare, call a taxi. I once called one from Dotonbori at almost 10 pm to the accommodation for 1,000 yen.
