I received such warm hospitality, like coming home, so I often returned to my room to relax during the hotter hours of the day. They greeted me with an ”Okaeri!” (Welcome home!) each time I went in and out, which was several times a day. On my checkout day, my train wasn't until the evening, but the owner told me I could use the terrace (which was actually indoors) until 5 PM and even gave me some water. The mother also offered me fruit, naan, and snacks. Finally, the owner, Aut-san, offered to drive me to the station, which was a huge help. Khiva is very far from Tokyo and a challenging journey, but if I ever come back, I would love to stay at this guesthouse again.
