Pingyao Hotels with Free Breakfast

Really love the hotel’s a**osphere. It is cool both scenery and weather. There aren’t much noice and people around the hotel, a little walk and you will reach some of the tourist’s attraction. Some employees can speak english or if not, wechat is the best help. They also booked taxi and drop us off by the taxi, the service was wonderful. Will stay here again if there’s a chance of visiting.

This is a gorgeous hotel that is centrally-located inside the ancient city with great service. It’s like living in a museum! The hotel is housed in a thoughtfully renovated ancient college with a beautiful courtyard for chatting, eating, and chilling. The rooms are large, clean, and quiet. I really enjoyed the traditional mat style bed. The hotel is a short walk away from the bustling Main Street. It was very convenient to walk to most attractions inside the walled City. The hotel owner also arranged free transport to take me to the high speed rail station. The service was wonderful. No complaints! If you’re staying here, I recommend checking out not just the ancient walled city but also the ancient temples in the area. I would stay here again without hesitation.

The ancient city Pingyao and the Yundingxuan hotel blowed our mind. The hotel provide free pickup from the train station. We took the high speed train arrived at Pingyaocheng station which is around 15 minutes away from the ancient city. When you enter the city wall gate, you will be amazed of the narrow streets and cobblestone road. Picked Yundingxuan hotel because it was closed to the North gate so If the taxi was to dropped us off it’ll be a short walk but the driver dropped us off near the hotel because cars are not allowed within the main streets. The hotel is closed to 200 years old and have characteristics of the Ming and Qing dynasties. I was born in Vietnam, With roots to China but raised up in the US since I was 7 years old. I’ve seen Chinese movies but nothing will prepare you to the hotel and the ancient city. I was surprised how big the hotel complex was. All the staff were very nice, the main host spoke English, and the breakfasts were traditional Chinese breakfast. We stayed two nights and we felt safe throughout our visit. My wife and daughter appreciated the three hotel cats and all the felines throughout the city. I’m sure the other hotels are fantastic and will give your a unique experience but I can vouch for Yundingxuan. Just be prepared to get out your comfort zone but be amazed by the visual and taste of Pingyao Ancient City.

Excellent location near the South Gate and easy access to Main Street in the old town. Looks a little rundown but perhaps it was the look it as trying to keep. Unsure. Classic chinese style room (nice!!) with Kang Bed meant for those who are accustomed to hard bed. Toilet and shower are not separated. Provide high speed train station pickup and drop off which are big pluses. Helpful front desk.

This is a homestay transformed from the old house of Hou Wangbin, which is more than 300 years old. Every brick and tile was built at that time. On this basis, it has been carefully designed and renovated. It is a magical thing to live in this 300-year-old house in Pingyao Ancient City and experience the flow of time! The housekeeper service of the homestay is very professional and in place. Not only did they help pick up and drop off the luggage, but they also recommended tour routes and locations according to our time in Pingyao. You must go to the restaurant for dinner. It is said that the authentic Pingyao local chef has been here for more than 20 years. Every dish is exquisite and delicious, and the ingredients are very good!

I took my kids out to play and stayed at Yunjincheng Mansion. It is a very good hotel. Before I came, the housekeeper Juaner contacted me and sent me some travel information. She was very considerate. She indicated the route on the day of check-in. In order to consider the traffic jam problem for the guests, she arranged staff to pick them up in advance. The journey was smooth. The staff took the luggage throughout the journey. I was very satisfied. The service is really the ceiling of the hotel. The room is clean and sanitary, the facilities are complete, and the dean is very unique. A vibrant hotel.

My stay at the Red Lantern Inn in Pingyao was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment I arrived, the owner was incredibly friendly and provided full-service hospitality. I was even greeted with a thoughtful gift of vinegar upon check-in. The hotel is unique and charming, not your typical modern hotel. The reception is located in a shop at the front, but the hotel's name is clearly displayed, making it easy to find. The directions on Trip.com were accurate, and although it’s a bit of a walk from the North Gate, it’s worth it. The atmosphere of the inn is enchanting, transporting you to old-world China. The rooms are simply designed yet very comfortable. The hotel also offers traditional costume rentals for photos, which was a fun experience. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. The owner helped us arrange a bus for sightseeing and even provided a free ride to the Pingyaogucheng Railway Station, despite it being quite far. The car was spacious and comfortable. To top it all off, I experienced my first snowfall here, making my stay even more magical. I highly recommend the Red Lantern Inn to anyone visiting Pingyao. It’s a place that offers not just a stay, but an unforgettable cultural experience!

After driving from Beijing to Xi'an and back to Beijing, I was too tired to find a place to rest in Pingyao. I booked a hotel casually. It turned out to be unexpectedly good. The environment is very clean and the decoration in the style of the Republic of China is quite unique. The underground parking is very convenient. Next to it is the Pingyao Theater. A few steps away from the back door of the courtyard is the wall of Pingyao Ancient City. The night view is very beautiful. The breakfast is not very luxurious, but it basically has everything it should have, and it is also OK. I highly recommend the hotel I stayed in. The service attitude is super good. When I checked out, they also gave me the special Shanxi vinegar. When I left, I accidentally left Xiaobao's book. I communicated with him in time and mailed it back. I recommend it. Pingyao is really good now. I didn't have time to play this time. I will come next time.

The layout of the hotel is very charming. The carvings on the pillars are super beautiful and antique. I couldn't help taking a lot of photos here. They are very photogenic. The boss and the boss lady are very nice. Not only did they pick me up and drop me off personally, but they also recommended places to eat and have fun. They didn't disappoint me at all. Knowing that it was my first time here, the boss lady also pointed out the must-see attractions in the ancient city. It is very close to the main street, and it only takes 5 minutes to walk there leisurely. It is very convenient. Shanxi people are so honest. I like it here very much! I will come again next time!

Good experience in this boutique Hutong hotel in Pingyao . The room is big and extremely comfortable , the breakfast is in a local style , the cleaning is fine and the architecture is amazing . Really easy to get from the central train station and inside the ancient city.
