JJiebudiaodejimoThe location is great, nestled between Yingxun Gate (South Gate) and Shangxi Gate, making it convenient for sightseeing yet surprisingly quiet. The facilities are good, but what really impressed me was picture #2 [assuming this refers to a specific feature/amenity shown in a picture]. I hope they can plug in the outlets before guests check in. The buckwheat pillow was very comfortable! The service was excellent; they communicated in advance about pickup/drop-off and even offered to drive me to attractions. Breakfast was abundant, featuring local specialties like Pingyao beef. It was well-balanced and tasty. The menu changed over the two days, though for me, there was a bit too much meat. If a full buffet isn't feasible, perhaps offering an à la carte menu where guests can choose their items would help reduce waste. And the cats at the hotel are adorable!

GGuest UserA lovely traditional courtyard hotel with lots of character right in the heart of the old city within walking distance to everything you would want to see. The owner speaks good English and provides you with a map and details of beautiful Pingyao’s must see local attractions. The hotel is quiet and the Chinese breakfasts with either tea or coffee are delicious. The owner can also organise a good driver for any out of town excursions. Highly recommended

GGuest UserThe environment is pretty good and quite unique. It's right next to Xidajie, offering a peaceful retreat despite being in a lively area. The best part is that it's perfect for ladies who love taking photos, as it's very close to 'Ancient Style Travel Photography.' After one photoshoot, you can easily go back to the hotel and take more photos yourself in its antique setting. The hotel provides disposable bath towels and face towels, which is great! No need to worry about forgetting to bring your own!

TTanluzheWsI am from Shanxi, and this time I went home to bring my father-in-law, mother-in-law and relatives from other places to visit. The boss is a local and very nice. It is his own inn, and the photos taken are very good, which can fully satisfy everyone's fantasy about Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture. Great 👍. The first photo is inside the inn.

DDingsujiyaailinnuoThis is my third stay at Yunjincheng, and I love it more and more each time – definitely a five-star review! The ancient courtyard has such a wonderful ambiance, with its traditional grey bricks and dark tiles exuding a timeless charm. Everywhere you look, there are exquisite brick and stone carvings, rich in authentic Jin merchant style. The unique *kang* bed in the room is super comfortable and distinctive – I slept so soundly. The breakfast is incredibly generous, especially the freshly stir-fried Pingyao Wantuo, which is savory and delicious, giving you a real taste of local life! Their aged vinegar is absolutely outstanding; it's mellow and rich, and I've bought it many times as gifts for friends and family because it's both healthy and nutritious. The environment, food, and service are all top-notch. Yunjincheng is my top choice for accommodation in Pingyao, and I'll definitely be back again this autumn!

GGuest UserPingyao Yundingxuan truly exceeded our expectations! This ancient courtyard, a former Shanxi merchant's residence, has an incredible atmosphere, perfect for amazing photos. The location is superb, right on West Street in the heart of the old town, within walking distance of 'Impression Pingyao' and all major attractions – super convenient for sightseeing and dining. The hotel offers free pickup and drop-off at the city gate, helps with luggage, and provides thoughtful and attentive service. They patiently explained sightseeing routes and even assisted with discounted bookings for 'Impression Pingyao' tickets, saving us time and effort. The rooms are clean and tidy, with soft and comfortable bedding. The courtyard is quiet and tranquil, making it a very reassuring stay for both elderly guests and children. The amenities are comprehensive, and the breakfast is authentic. It offers incredible value for money. It's definitely the top choice for family trips to Pingyao. Highly recommended; we'll definitely stay here again next time we visit Pingyao.

GGuest UserOur stay here was phenomenal! The hotel staff made us feel very welcomed and even upgraded us to a suite for free, which was very generous. When we checked in we got a map of the ancient city and a few tips of what sights to see. The hotel was nicely located in a quieter alley not far from the bustling main street and other popular sights. Also, when we checked out they even offered us a ride to the train station. Very appreciated! Highly recommend this hotel! Will stay here again if we come back.

GGuest UserI escaped from Beijing to relax on the weekend. I was lucky to book this homestay. The experience was great. The location is just a few minutes' walk from the most lively South Street in the ancient city. The environment inside the homestay is unique. The wind of the rich Shanxi merchants' courtyard is blowing in the face. It is very suitable for girls to change clothes and take pictures. The room is also clean and comfortable. The towels and bath towels are all disposable. The boss is very enthusiastic. He helped me upgrade the room, recommended the tour route and dining spots, and gave me a gift when I left.

AAnonymous UserThis hotel was stunning. Located in the heart of the city. Very charming, it feels like going back in time. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. Crystal at concierge was there for us all the time. Definitely recommended. Only down point: the hotel is very difficult to find. To keep a higher level of exclusivity there is not a single indication on the street. Took a while and some local help to manage.

AAnonymous UserWe ended our five-day trip to Shanxi and were very satisfied with Shanxi, especially this B&B in Pingyao Ancient City. After booking the room, we contacted the inn and reserved a parking space for us. We got off the expressway and arrived at the parking lot smoothly, and someone came over. They were very considerate in picking up my luggage. The location of the inn is very good, just at the intersection of the pedestrian street. It is not noisy at night and is very convenient for traveling. This is the most recommended one. The inn is a typical Shanxi courtyard house, just like living in a TV series. The courtyard is very comfortable, the rooms are clean and hygienic, and the service is excellent. I recommend everyone to stay here.
