We stayed 3 nights at Robert's Grove Peninsula Resort after our catamaran trip, and it was a fantastic experience. This hotel is a paradise on earth with a pristine beach, spacious rooms, and exceptional service. We will be returning this winter to spend 10 days in this paradise.

My stay at Robert's Grove Peninsula Resort in December was an absolutely incredible experience. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted warmly by the friendly and attentive staff, who ensured that all of our needs were met throughout our stay. The location of the hotel is simply magnificent. Nestled on the Placencia Peninsula, the property offers spectacular views of the ocean and white sand beach. We were enchanted by the picturesque landscapes that surrounded the hotel, providing an atmosphere of relaxation and tranquility. The rooms were spacious, clean and well appointed, with modern amenities and comfortable beds. We particularly enjoyed our private balcony, where we could enjoy the tropical breezes while watching the sunset. The variety of activities offered by the hotel is impressive. We were able to snorkel the coral reef, explore the surrounding jungle on a kayak tour, and even go deep sea fishing. Each activity was well organized and the guides were knowledgeable and passionate. The hotel food was simply delicious. The on-site restaurants offered a wide variety of dishes, ranging from local specialties to international cuisines. Each meal was a true explosion of flavors, prepared with fresh, quality ingredients. What really makes Robert's Grove Peninsula Resort special is the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were always willing to help and answer our questions, offering us recommendations on places to visit and activities not to miss. Their genuine hospitality and attention to detail helped make our stay truly memorable. In conclusion, I highly recommend Robert's Grove Peninsula Resort to anyone looking for an exceptional experience in Placencia, Belize. With its magnificent location, comfortable rooms, delicious cuisine and attentive service, this hotel offers everything you need for a perfect vacation. I can't wait to come back to create new unforgettable memories.

My friend and I spent two nights here on a girl's trip and we paid in advance. Before our arrival, they were very on the ball with coordinating our airport arrival and they were on time to meet us when we flew in from a neighboring island. From there, it was downhill. Our room was not ready despite the fact that the hotel was practically empty. For a two-night stay, this cut into our vacation time since we had hoped to settle in and explore the island. Instead, they kept saying it was "almost" ready and they kept "checking" on it. We ended up eating lunch there because it took so long and had to change our plans for that day's activities. The room was finally ready and nobody offered to help carry our baggage up the stairs to the second floor. At a four-star resort, this is surprising. Our room looked nothing like the website and it was very dated and dark. There was no hot water and they told me someone would come but it was never fixed. We had planned to spend our last day there at the spa and pool but canceled the appointments as it was so unwelcoming, Luckily, we spent the day at a neighboring resort instead and had a great day. They even picked us up and dropped us off. The front desk staff was not friendly. I asked for an umbrella one morning just to go to my room and the girl said she forgot hers that day so there was no umbrella. Again, at a 4-star hotel, this is surprising, especially since the room had an umbrella holder by the door. The complimentary breakfast was fine but you get what they are serving so hope you like it. There was no milk one day. We barely saw any other guests there but I would think milk should always be on hand. There were no cushions on the pool chairs but they brought hard foam mats to use. The water sports boats, etc. were just piled up from the beach. Nobody offered to show us how to use anything and it did not feel safe since the beach was unsupervised. The room was so musty my passport was curled up when we left. We never got hot water and the AC barely worked. Definitely a very bad experience for the price - $260 per night. I think this place was once very nice because it came highly recommended to me but clearly, that person visited it a long time ago. There are so many other nicer options for the same price. On the day we checked out, there was a very friendly woman working at the front desk. She was surprised that we had no hot water the whole time and offered a 20 percent discount but that was over a week ago and nothing yet. Even still, 20% for no hot water and unfriendly staff is still not worth the price.

I have been here many times in the past and always bring friends and recommend it. However, the security guard today was on a power trip. I realized I came in the exit, but there weren't any other vehicles coming so I went ahead and parked on a slant just like the SUV next to me. He proceeded to walk all the way across the parking lot to chastise me for coming in the exit. As I was unloading my walker, he came back and said I needed to park the golf cart straight. This was really ignorant on his part, because then I would have taken up 2 parking spaces. I told him I would forgo having lunch there because of his behavior. This didn't seem to bother him. Business is still so slow here that a snotty security guard should not be turning away paying

Positives - the grounds are filled with plants and look well cared for. The beach was clean (free of sea debris) most mornings by 10 am. The boardwalks are in good repair. The staff are nice. Laundry was priced as in town (plus the government tax). Covid measures in place with temperature readings at arrival, hand washing stations, and masks required. Drawbacks - photos of this property are long out of date and do not represent its current state. We stayed in two rooms over our 7 night stay moving due to air conditioning issues (breaker would trip shutting off the ac) coupled with missing screens in room 8. High ceiling with two fans but little air movement. This room also had a locked safe (staff told us previous guests had left it locked and they didn't have a way to access it). Room had a sofa and side chair in addition to nice wooden two chairs at a table. Room 18 was downstairs where the ac worked a bit better but there was no safe. Windows had screens. The shower did not function correctly with the middle knob to turn water from the spout to the shower head broken. When there was water (between none and a little) more water came from the spout than above. The light in the shower didn't work so we showered in the dark. The step over wall into the shower was over 12" in this room. Both rooms had coolers (not really fridges) that kept or got beverages cool. Both had the same sofa and side chair. Perhaps at one time a third person could sleep on the sofa but the state of the cushion was poor. Pool chairs sometimes had a foam mat for cushion but they were uncomfortable. Beach towels were available at the front desk and you could drop them beside the pool. We ate breakfast most days and only learned at end of our stay there was a menu in addition to the coupons we received. With the coupons there was a set breakfast offering which they were able to modify (omit) gluten. It was adequate, but not impressive, usually a scrambled egg, a few pieces of fruit, perhaps French toast or pancakes along with coffee and juice. Meats were available on the menu. We had one lunch and one dinner. Neither were memorable nor especially tasty. If this hotel were charging $50 per night it might be acceptable however even that is a stretch.
