Jardines del Sol

We had a nice clean appartement which was very spacious. The bed is really good, very soft and we slept like babies. Bathroom was nothing special but clean which is the most important thing. Breakfast is a bit on the expensive side. (8,- for 2 small orange juice). The staff was friendly. We would’ve liked to stay longer but unfortunately it was fully booked. The only downside was the 100,- borg that has to be payed with creditcard as we didn’t have one but we got the appartement anyway. I recommended this place to others if they’re looking to relaxed without the screams from tourists. If you read this as a tourist please keep this beautiful island clean and show your respect. (We walked around with an empty bag picking up trash along the road)

We had a few issues with the villa on arrival. One off the doors wouldn't close or lock properly and maintenance weren't able to fix. I was told no other villas available just a larger bungalow at extra cost. I was also told they could do nothing until the following day and expected us to stay in a villa with a door which wouldn't lock or close properly. I was obviously not going to accept that and fortunately they managed to get the door to lock from the inside until it was fixed the following day. The shower flooded on our arrival and maintenance had to unblock the drain. The design of the on suite shower is a joke. The basin isn't deep enough and water escapes and makes the bathroom soaking wet. The outside light bulb had gone and I was not given the safe card at reception when I checked. Just annoying when you just arrive with the family and want to relax. We waited in Baileys Bar for hrs until they finally gave us the keys after 4PM. We had lunch at Baileys, they only gave us the expensive menu and did not make us aware off the lunch time menu which we only discovered later on. Even after I mentioned this to the owner "Bailey" it happened again. My kids preferred the lunch time offerings and it was a lot cheaper. It was a shame as otherwise Baileys is an ok place to drink and eat. The pools were ok but need maintenance, tiles falling off. the whole place needs a make over. We had a car and I am glad we did, I used the larger Hippo supermarket in Playa Blanca which was fine for the essentials. The smaller Hippo Express were more expensive. We liked Playa Blanca, lots off restaurants. We esp liked it a around the Rubicon Marina and surrounding area. Some nice Tapas restaurants. The weather was random, cloudy in the mornings and sunny in the afternoons, also it could get v windy which was annoying. There was no option for late checkout or early check in, even after asking weeks in adv. Strange as a lot off villas were empty. Would we go again to JDS? Maybe once its been done up.

We stayed in Aug 2024/ 2 adults and 2 kids aged 11 and 9. JDS are clean spacious/ comfortable apartments. Quiet and private but at night can hear neighbours snoring. Friendly staff Bailey’s bar is good especially happy hour and food reasonable. Accommodations have washing machine which is a mega bonus as don’t need to take loads of clothes. Would recommend if coming in a group with friends or family. Cleaning is ok but not amazing Eco-friendly outlook / recycling points/ filtered water/ towel exchange limited. Unfortunately we didn’t think there was enough for the kids except a pool. There is a pool table/ table tennis but not much else. Mini golf is a waste of time. They only do a movie night for the kids and then its just singers as evening entertainment. We booked this resort as thought it would have more going on but sadly there isn’t much unless you love baileys bar. Therefore I did feel very bored in the evenings unless we went out for dinner. No decent supermarket nearby so need to drive or get a taxi. There is a shop at neighbouring hotel but you will pay through the nose. Would recommend having a car to explore and use this place as a base. We basically did the whole island and would recommend the following: - El Golfo ( lovely seafood restaurants with locals) - Marina Rubicon ( upmarket marina resort with bars and restaurants) -Famara beach - surfers beach with reasonable beach restaurants. -North of island - Arrieta/ Haria/ Mirador del Rio -Ceuve de los Verdes -Volcano national park -Papagayo beaches -Marea bar ( 10 mins walk with sea views and good cocktails) restaurants above are fairly good too. -Aqualava waterpark nearby- only pay for afternoon ticket as you only need 2 hours as so small. -Rancho Texus if you have kids. I had a blast when I was at this place, the rooms are impeccable and the showers and toilets, sparkling clean. The entertainment on this resort was endless, especially in Baileys bar where the quiz night was unbelievable, not to mention the outstanding pool. I really recommend to any traveller who is looking to come to the Canary Islands. This is an absolutely outstanding hotel and one of the best in the local area. Come here if you want to have some fun, 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A wonderful stay at JDS! We are a family of 5 with a 13, 10 and 7 year old. The accommodation is spacious, clean with everything you need. Bailey’s bar, was just great, the food was amazing with lots of choice and reasonably priced and the happy hour at 5-7pm is the perfect touch to the end of the day around the lovely pool area. There are always enough sun loungers and while people do place the towels, it’s not for a long while before they arrive. The Playa Flamingo beach is around 10-15 minutes walk and is great for snorkelling and spending the whole day. Supermarkets run alongside, with restaurants and cafes should you need them. Further along is Playa Dorada beach which is much more busy, but where you can enjoy the water sports etc. As a family of 5 the taxis proved difficult, but we used the local buses which were great if we didn’t want to walk. We would 100% recommend JDS and look forward to returning in the future!!!

JDS is a very comfortable and cosy resort with the tremendous Bailey Bar and Restaurant. The perfect spot for a break in the sun. ️

A lovely place with friendly staff and spacious, well equipped apartments. We travelled as multiple families and the restaurant staff always managed to accommodate a table for us in the restaurant. The pool area was clean and well maintained. We were able to get sunbeds at most times of day and they have really comfortable, thick pads and all were in good operational order. The location is a little further out of town than I would normally book but we could get a taxi from right outside our accommodation, occasionally had a bit of a wait but we were there in the height of peak season so to be expected.
