Best Pet Friendly Hotels in Playa del Carmen

Had heard and read amazing things. Other friends had experiences close to ours but seemed like a fluke, but it is definitely not... Proceed with caution as this is not your typical Rosewood experience..... Food is amazing and rooms are nice yet, but that's avialable in many places. We come for the Rosewood Experience...this property is not. The guest service's ability to accurately coordinate family activities is incompetent, likely due to either poor processes or inadequate staffing as people are nice---- except the shocking time they accused us of canceling an activity (so we were told it wasn't available) when the texts say otherwise). We have numerous examples of trying to plan pre arrival and during where requests not followed up on or even worse confirmations received for other families while ours were ignored. Also, our planned scuba trip (though the hotel) was cancelled due to the instructor not showing up for the scheduled dive-- after we waited for almost an hour past checkin time to learn about it. The staff (and presumably management) is aware of such problems but have done nothing to rectify Additionally, the wild raccoons and other larger animals are aggressive around smaller children and the hotel not caution us about it, and does nothing to help mitigate. Not a typical Rosewood level experience. Rosewood should de-Flag this property as it brings down the overall brand. Be wary of management responses that simply ”apologize” in the comments ...this is a deep rooted organizational issue.

I love this hôtel this is my second time there. This is a little Paradise oasis in the center of Playa. Best location ever without noticing any of the Playa noise. Large gardens with tall palm trees, 3 beautiful pools with one directly on the beach. They pay attention to detail and everything is beautiful. The spa has natural colors and is beautifully set up. My masseuse was Claudia and I went twice because she is very good and attentive to your problem areas. The staff is helpful and friendly. You don’t need to book the all inclusive if you want to explore the restaurants around. They also have a small Starbucks now within the premises so you can have your morning coffee there if you don’t care about the giant buffet. Among all the hotels on the Riviera, this one has a more human size, is situated in the center which is great for shopping, eating out and bars. Well, I love this place.

The room is large and the facilities are complete and useful The decoration of the hotel is very unique 2 minutes walk from ADO station 2 minutes walk from CI banco where you can exchange money. 4 minutes walk from the beach 1 minute walk from Fifth Avenue 5 minutes walk from Kosumer Speedboat Terminal Rooftop infinity pool Carmen's one of a kind

hotel done fixed their mistake from the website I booked. When we arrived they told us we need to pay extra tax & no bkft included. But we showed them the itinerary that we payed. Hotel( Guillermo ) initiatively solve the mistake for us, which is a very good move! Allow us to enjoy more in the beautiful trip. Restaurant waiters are super kind and pay attention on their guests which is five star service we expected all the time. Thanks Walter giving us a wonderful experience. Also the one who assisted us bring luggage downstairs in this morning, Axel was super detail oriented in service, perspected our needs!! He deserved more! Thanks for those beautiful exp. your colleagues made our trips easy & enjoyable!

There is no need for golf. You can stay in other good hotels at this price. The restaurant is delicious, but all-inclusive is not recommended. The price is not as good as a la carte.

Additional information from my review from May 2024. I just read that Hyatt Corporation of Chicago, IL announced the opening and renaming of the once Thompson Beach and Main House properties as Hyatt Centric properties, Playa Del Carmen. I am horrified, completely horrified, that all what was perpetrated and reviewed in the moment in May 2024 per that review were intentional misrepresentations of Hyatt Corporation against me, that I and other guests were the target as perpetrated by employees and leadership of Hyatt Corporation. Hyatt Corporation who were always the owners of the Thompson Properties Playa del Carmen, not a franchisee that I was repeatedly led to believe, and that it was always Hyatt Corporation that let these properties fall into such disrepair and sanctioning theft for months on end that are detailed in reviews on this site prior to the closing of at least Main House so that a full renovation (allegedly) could take place. I felt so unsafe that I actually requested that my that Hyatt never allow me to be a guest at a property owned or operated by the same franchisee who owned/operated the former Thompson Properties in Playa del Carmen, now Hyatt Centric, and I was referred as a Globalist by the VP Mexico for Hyatt to my private concierge who would ensure this would in fact be the case. That is how far the misrepresentation went. I have emails with my private concierge where if I made any reservations with that ownership group, I would be notified. Yet, that ownership group, now the truth is told, was Hyatt Corporation all along. What incredible deceit.

Book with caution. I was there for a meeting and had some serious issues that were ”sort of” addressed. One night I was going to sleep and pulled back the comforter only to find blood splotches. Mind you, the bed was freshly made!!! When I advised the hotel, I was told...we'll take care of it. Had ants on the counter and they did come and spray. This was not a one off situation. Talked to multiple people in the group and they all had ants. Two days after the counter situation, they were in toliet area. The room is super dark and very poor lighting. Also, there is no where to set up your computer and work.

My experience was not very positive, mainly because of the staff at the reception desk, They charged me twice for my stay even though I showed them that I already paid online, they insisted that I pay again, before accessing the room and still didn’t receive the refund for that second paiement The room itself is really beautiful , clean and confortable ! They charged us for using some amenities, even though it was in open access and no notice indicated that this was a paying service, The breakfast is underwhelming to say the least, The place is close to the parks of Xplore and Xcaret you can either choose to go by walking (30 min) or take a taxi that will cost you 20 dollars for 7 min But it’s pretty far from the city Center of Playa del Carmen, you will need to take a taxi, it will cost at least 20 dollars, or you could walk for 40 min This hotel has a very high potentiel, if the reception desk staff would be friendlier, and more helpful, and if they could make a small improvement on the breakfast
