Hotels near Camerahaus/Canon, Puerto Princesa

The place was really good. Very near the airport. The place is clean. My son enjoys the pool so much. Breakfast is free. Our only issue was the TV. It was working at first. After the first night, it started losing channels then signals. Cannot watch anymore. But other than that it was a good stay.

Extremely clean and spacious room. Loved the contemporary design. Almost everything looked really new when we were there. Great breakfast with variety. The staff was really helpful and courteous. The location of the hotel is great and close to everything.

Close to airport, perfect location, they also help you to contact some tourists agency and help you book some activities, nice staff

Excellent place for staycation with family and loved ones if you want a place where you can relax and breathe sea breeze with nice ambience. Has friendly, approachable and professional hotel staffs, rooms are opened using a key card - spacious with minimalist designs, beds and comforters are nice, with free water bottles, water heater and coffee. Also comes with clean toilet with free toiletries (towel, toothbrush & toothpaste, comb, razor, soap, shower cap & vanity kit [cotton buds] also includes free rubber slippers for all around and comfy use) as well as hair dryer/blower attached at the side of bathroom mirror, the room also has a vault safety box, flatscreen TV and mini refrigerator. The buildings have elegant structures. They also have really great swimming pool area! We got a room that is pool access and it made our stay more wonderful. Foods are delicious. Great buffet set up. Sunset can be watched at the rooftop of the gazebo near the seashore. You can borrow and ride a bicycle inside the hotel premises and do kayaking if the sea is high tide. Very nice and instagrammable place! Will definitely come back here for sure.

After our experience in Manila, this place was fantastic. It was affordable, clean and comfortable - but not quite like the pictures. The staff were very nice and let us hang out and look after our baggage well and truely after we had checked out. However be careful, when I booked this the name I was given of the Hotel was Red Doorz, which there are many of and firstly ended up at the wrong hotel

A group of us stayed here the night of arriving in PP before embarking our scuba liveaboard and chose the hotel as it was where the liveaboard company did a town pick up from. Simple accommodation, but clean and functioning. Very spacious rooms - we had 4 girls sharing one room with two double beds. The bathroom/shower was a little tired but I only had one quick shower. A pretty garden surrounding a pool - I didn't end up swimming as it was quite a hot, muggy, grey day and the pool was more warm than refreshing in that moment, but I also only spent about 18 hours total at the hotel so if I was there longer I would definitely have had some pooltime. It was cute watching some local kids have a mermaiding lesson. The restaurant is not set up for large orders so bear that in mind timing wise - it is a one chef kitchen. If you are landing at 7pm or later make sure you request the chef stay if you want dinner on site as they will otherwise leave at 9pm. The chicken & mushroom pasta was good. Breakfast was also good - fruit, pancakes and egg, but only instant coffee. I particularly liked the access to free drinking water refill - there is a cooler in the dining area. The staff were helpful - with the chef staying late for us, helping us call to book some massages down the road at Nuat Thai Spa, helping me get a bowl of rice for lunch when I tried to order when the kitchen was backed up we made a plan B. Location is a bit further down in the quiet end of Manalo St. It isn't far to walk up to the part with restaurants, coffee shops and the spa, but I probably wouldn't have done that walk alone as a female in the dark so I would stay here with a group more than solo. I'm sure it is very safe, but as a general rule of thumb I don't walk alone in the dark down quiet streets. After the liveaboard I stayed in the 'busier' part of Manalo St. Would I stay here again - well if in PP I would probably go to my second hotel as a repeat customer as it was just nicer all around (but also cost double the price). However, Acacia is perfectly adequate for the price point if you are looking for accommodation close to the airport or the boat pier in southern PP at a very reasonable price and it is true to the pictures.

This is supposedly the only 5 star resort in the area which is sad as I think competition might actually inspire them to do better. The place itself is very nice and initial impressions are quite excellent. But the longer we stayed the more we noticed the lack of upkeep in the rooms. The size of the bathroom is big but there is not a single electrical outlet inside so you cannot plug in anything not even the hairdryer. The shower glass door does not close shut and with the very strong water pressure you can be assured of a very wet overflowing floor outside of the shower enclosure. We paid for 2 extra persons in the room which they informed us meant sharing the beds and breakfast inclusive but they don’t automatically provide the extra towels. Even after calling them to request for more towels they still took more than 2 days to give us our extra towels. The water in the pool is quite warm and not refreshing as the heat of the sun kept it quite warm but some of our friends actually liked it that way so it’s more of a personal preference. The drying rack in the balcony is a nice touch as we can dry our swim clothes there. There are also water dispensers in the hallway which is great for refilling the complimentary glass bottles of water provided. Buffet breakfast is included in the room rates but don’t expect anything extraordinary. The Italian restaurant in the resort does not seem to be ready for the tourist influx as food came out ever so slowly and we felt bad for the foreign tourists who don’t complain as much as the locals so we did get our food faster than they did. The resort is expanding so there is construction ongoing which is a positive sign of tourist revival in PP which I’m happy about for them but I wish they would also pay closer attention to the upkeep of the existing rooms.

The place was a little ways out so you gotta have everything you need handy. They can get a tricycle for you but those charge exorbitant prices. We arrived about 30 mins. earlier so it was understandable that the room was still being prepared. But that I had to ask the staff if the room was ready a little past 2PM before they directed us to our room was Strike 1 for me. The family room was large so we enjoyed having our ”own space” within the room. It was also very near the pool (the window by my bed opens to it) so watching the kids was easy. The pool, however, was a real downer when you book the place online and you came for the pool (like what my daughter did). It looked really nice in the picture and the actual pool was, well, a pool; and the chlorine in the water was overwhelming. That was Strike 2. I didn't even bother to go in. Come dinnertime, we ordered our meal. It tasted good BUT they only had one platter of rice ready at such a time! We had to stop and wait for the second platter of rice. Can you imagine having to stop in the middle of your meal because you have to wait for the additional rice, that is a Filipino meal staple by the way. I can let that slide because you can choose to chat with the family and pick on the grilled stuffed squid while waiting. My breakfast platter, however, was a very oily number. I had bacon, eggs and toasted bread (with butter and jam). But we'll let that slide too. Upon checkout, I requested for receipts for our in-house meals. It was my way of verifying the cost of dinner because the amount relayed to me did not add right as opposed to what I computed from the menu when I placed the order and had it charged to the room. I was thinking maybe the additional fees and service charge added up and all that. The lady at the counter took forever (an exaggeration, of course) and was doing a side thing addressing someone who seems to be an employee but not in uniform at the time. A PWD walking with a cane as I am, I reached a point where I could no longer tolerate standing on pretty much one leg so I told her that I will leave my daughter to wait for the receipts while I take a seat at the tricycle they called for us since their van was not around. She was told that we should have given advance notice if we wanted receipts. I'm a bit taken aback because that has always been ready for me in the places I've been too. Don't they automatically prepare receipts for issuance after an order has been served and set for room charge? Those were dinner and breakfast and we checked out at 12nn. They had ample time to prepare it unless they had no intention to issue the receipts. That was definitely Strike 3 for me...and so this review. This may seem like a rant but I really just want the matter addressed. The place has potential but the customer service needs to improve. Great service. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Delicious breakfast. Beautiful hotel and the view from it. It's very quiet around except for the roosters singing all the time which makes it more atmospheric. The hotel is a bit far from everything but it's not a problem if you can ride a motorbike which you can rent at the reception desk. If we come back to Puerto-Princesa we will definitely stay in this hotel again!
