Puerto Rico Hotels with Wi-Fi

Just returned from two weeks at Marina Suites. This was our second visit, after staying last year. Again we had a fantastic time, rooms, staff, pool and food all superb. However a couple of ******* this year that I don't think we noticed the first time around. People smoking is a problem at this hotel, it promotes itself as a healthy well being place but allows smoking on balconies. We had chain smokers either side which meant when opening the balcony door our room filled up with the smell. Also, the decking area has now just become a smoking area, this I dont think is what its supposed to be for, you cant really use it because of it and cigarette butts littered all over the rocks because of no ashtray, smell of smoke blows onto the pool. Quite funny seeing a yoga class next to people smoking like chimneys. Something needs to be done about this, perhaps move them somewhere where non smoking guests are not impacted. The second issue is the sunbeds, there isn't enough of them. I witnessed a guy sitting at the doors at 7am, they don't open until 8pm, to get his spot. Not really the hotels fault, its a people issue but perhaps more could be done to prevent it. By 9am most beds are taken. Lifeguard doesnt arrive until 9.30 so whilst people put towels on beds at 8 they know they have until 10.15 to return before the 45 min rule is applied. The main Lifeguard is wonderful at applying the rules and will try to sort people out, however on his days off the pool becomes a zoo.. the replacement life guard sits on his phone all day and allows everything, people with huge inflatables, people jumping off the walls around little kids in armbands and people taking their beers into the pool as some examples. I got the impression the main lifeguard was pretty annoyed on his first day back, having to get the pool back under control. These are just a couple of negatives with many positives but does mean we will probably look to go somewhere else next year, which is a shame. A suggestion, is the adults only part needed if you have a sister adults only hotel people who want an adults only stay can use? It was barely more than half full and seems to take up space that I think could be used for more sunbeds to solve the issue of lack of space and people having to queue up before 8 to get a bed.

We recently stayed at this hotel - 25th May for 7 nights as a family of 3 and my little girl is 7. Regarding sickness bug: my little girl got sick on night 5 and me on night 7. Worst sickness I've experienced, it was awful. I wasn't aware of the issue until reading these reviews so something needs to be done. The hotel and rep were great in changing bedding, cleaning aftermath of us both providing water, and organising a doctor, only because I was flying home following day. The hotel allowed us to keep the room on as there was no way I could've sat waiting in reception all day for our early evening collection. Thank you RIU you made a horrendous situation more bearable. I have had to take time off work sick and still recovering now 😔. We had friends go to Tenerife and got really poorly too so think it's doing the rounds unfortunately. Just be prepared, as you're advised to anyway when travelling abroad anywhere. On check in we were made to feel so welcome. The room was on 1st floor (128) and cannot fault the room, very spacious and beds were really comfortable ... i had the best nights sleep (until night 5). View was overlooking the Grand Amadores Thassolos Hotel so to the left of Amadores beach if looking out to sea. We had boulders in the view but it was ok as not planned to spend so much time in the room, but we did 😔. Food was really lovely and plenty choice so can't fault the food. Little deserts were amazing. The terrace outside has fabulous views and watching the sunset as you eat was just the best. Pool areas were great and kept very clean. No need to be up early to reserve a bed so that a big win. Entertainment during the day was fun, always something going on but you have to seek it so it's not in your face if you just want to relax. The water aerobics was brilliant and so much fun, I don't usually get involved but it's a must as music and atmosphere was addictive. Night entertainment was also great for the kids, and adults but I'm easily pleased and we just wanted to have a great holiday so it is what you make it. All of the staff are really friendly, accommodating and always with a smile. This is a great hotel and apart from sickness, which sadly really spoilt it for us , we had a fabulous first 4 days and met some wonderful people and my little girl made some great friends. We will definitely be back to make the most of this hotel as we lost 3 days out of the 7 and would stay longer than 7 days.

Despite the surprise drop off at the bottom of the hill, by the Easy Jet transfer coach, our holiday at this hotel was absolutely perfect. Welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Cleaners were amazing, slipping in to our room when we weren’t there, leaving it pristine. The breakfasts were more than adequate, freshly cooked and they kept us going until dinner time. Sun-beds were always available, and the lifeguards kept the pool area clean and tidy. The sun was first on the pool area around 11am, and remained for the rest of the day. This made for lovely relaxed breakfasts and time to explore before cooling off in the pool. The roof top area was pretty much bathed in sunshine, from 10:00am. The bar was easily accessible, from our room and the pool! We really didn’t want for anything, and we will definitely go back. An amazing place to spend our 10th wedding anniversary. Location is great, we had 8th floor sunsuites. Booked superior with side sea view. Sea view was seen at one point if u stood right in the corner....not a great view really. Had a couple of issues when we arrived, bed had one leg loose and the bedside table had 3 legs...Maintenance guy came and fixed promptly so that was fine. Glad we checked and not waited till bedtime! We had issues with our door not locking and a new lock was required..but again fixed promptly, as was the TV which only had 2 channels! Bathroom very tired and they need new beds...u sleep on a mattress topper. Comfy enough bit doesn't look great. Lots of cracks and paint top ups on ceiling. Balcony massive and u get the sun from 9am till around 430pm. Kitchen equipment good...in my opinion the balcony and location is the selling point. Pool area very nice and we liked going up there. Lift goes to 6 then u go up steps to ur room or walk to back of complex and get another lift up. Air con in bedroom was good but no instructions or remote to use it. When I asked at reception how we switched it off he said use the fuse box!!! We realised there was a switch beside the light that did something..press it...eventually went off or on. Would I stay here again? Yes but would have lowered my expectation and know what I was getting. Don't get me wrong, Clean and good location but the bathroom and shower and the beds let it down. U dont spend much time in the room but you need a good bed and a good shower. Hubby spoke to reception about poor water pressure, again maintenance guy came to loom but there wasn't any improvement. Was OK for me though, hubby likes a powerful shower. I would say the other side has better views but this side has the sun in the morning and that is what we wanted for this time of year (normally come march and have stayed at other side casalanca/cala nova side). The sun shone everday so that made the balcony/pool the place to be!!
